Chapter 445 03-25 - Chapter 445: Chapter 68: Terrifying AssassinationChapter 445: Chapter 68: Terrifying Assassination
Zero and Li Xiaoman quickly joined the battle with two others, turning the street into a chaotic battleground.
On the other side, Tanis’s attacks were wildly intense, overpowering the man clad in heavy armor and wielding a War Axe, who kept being forced back.
Soon, a loud crash was heard as his body slammed against a building wall.
Atop the building, Salem put on his helmet, his sword emitting a terrifying energy light. He leapt towards Xu Mo’s location in a straight dive.
It was a pity he hadn’t participated in the Transcendent competition; he wanted to see just how strong Xu Mo, renowned as Byron Star’s number one prodigy, really was.
Xu Mo, seeing his opponent charging at him, was fully covered in armor, his War Saber also radiating a terrifying energy light.
“Buzz!”
His body shot forward straight towards Salem, and they met swiftly in the air.
“Hiss…” Like a bolt of lightning, Salem’s sword slashed through, drawing a brilliant arc in the air and leaving an afterimage.
Xu Mo’s saber struck out just as viciously, clashing with the sword in midair, sparking on impact as the two bodies brushed past each other.
Screeches echoed from afar.
The clash between such talented individuals like Salem and Xu Mo naturally elicited excitement.

Salem, Source Power Level A Minus.
Xu Mo, Source Power Level B+.
But both were equipped with A+ grade armor, which could bridge the gap in their Source Power Levels. In a way, the armor gave them equivalent attack strength.
Of course, in actual combat, the person with the higher Source Power Level still held the advantage as they inherently possessed greater strength, power, and speed in wielding their weapons, as well as superior combat skills and reaction speeds.
This only existed in theory. Under equivalent conditions, a stronger Source Power Level still held a significant advantage.
If Salem faced anyone else with an advantage in Source Power Level, the battle would have been decisive, but his opponent was Xu Mo.
The same Xu Mo who had single-handedly defeated the alien Amanda clad in a Mechanical Body.
So, even though Salem’s popularity in Coastal City surpassed Xu Mo’s, no one dared to assert with certainty that Salem would defeat Xu Mo.
In the air, the two turned to face each other.
The next moment, they charged towards one another again.
“Hiss hiss…” Sword light flashed, and in the instant they approached, Xu Mo’s War Saber slashed forward, a blade glow streaking through the air, the energy light aiming at Salem.
Salem’s sword struck out as well, blocking Xu Mo’s saber.
But as the saber rapidly sliced by, Xu Mo delivered a second slash, aiming directly at his throat.
Salem’s sword moved into a defensive posture, blocking Xu Mo’s saber again. He attempted to counterattack, but saw the blade glow reappear, Xu Mo’s sword technique was incredibly fast.
The sword and saber clashed in midair, sparks flying. Both men moved through the air with such speed that the crowd’s naked eyes struggled to keep up with the exchange of blows.
“So fast, Xu Mo’s attack speed is even faster than Salem’s.”
The watching crowd felt their hearts tremble; Xu Mo’s sword technique subdued Salem, persistently attacking.
Salem was extremely passive, completely adopting a defensive stance, but his swordsmanship was also very strong and just as fast.
By now Salem had realized his attack and reaction speeds were not as fast as Xu Mo’s, and even with an advantage in Source Power Level, he would soon lose if the fight continued this way.
“Boom…”
With a burst of Source Power from within, Salem slashed outwardly, ignoring Xu Mo’s incoming saber, attempting a mutual strike.
With a thud, Xu Mo’s saber whisked past, slicing a crack into Salem’s armor. But in a split second, he dodged Salem’s sword, maneuvering to his side.
Salem’s body soared upwards, glancing down at Xu Mo, his armor covered in energy light, transforming into a terrifying flow of light as he charged towards Xu Mo.
“Hiss hiss…”
Under the rapid assault, a sword mark cut through the space, appearing like a streak of light shadow, descending alongside Salem’s body.
Xu Mo’s perception flared, his saber abruptly striking out, “bang…” he blocked the sword, Salem’s body rushing past him, then quickly turned to deliver a second sword strike.
“So fast.”
Salem’s attacks weren’t pausing, striking relentlessly.
Xu Mo blocked another sword attack, then Salem continued flickering around him, sword lights enveloping the area as Xu Mo stayed on the defensive.
“Buzz.”
Another sword came slashing. As Salem’s body reached halfway, Xu Mo suddenly moved, a flash of lightning appearing, he too charged at Salem, both meeting at frightful speeds, almost too quick to react.
Xu Mo’s body almost grazed the sweeping curve of the sword as he slashed his saber out.
A sharp, piercing friction noise rang out as the saber, filled with immense power, cut open Salem’s armor, leaving a gash on his abdomen.
Salem looked down, seeing his armor sliced open, knowing that if Xu Mo’s saber moved any further, he would be slain on the spot.
The crowd watching from afar felt emotional turbulence at this scene.
Xu Mo, clad in armor, had actually defeated Salem. Such was not known to be his preferred style of fighting, yet he was still overwhelmingly strong.
Coastal City’s number one prodigy, it seemed, was still not enough.
Just then, from a building nearby, someone raised a heavy cannon, aiming in Xu Mo’s direction and fired.
