The Primordial Record

Chapter 1645: Origin of Singularities

Chapter 1645: Origin of Singularities

When Rowan returned from the realm of Death, he brought with him all the energies from that hollow realm, and he could have easily rid himself of the corruption of Death when he returned, but due to three critical reasons, he did not allow himself to fully recover.

Rowan had discovered that with so much essence of death inside his body, it was hard for anyone to determine that he was still alive. His presence had been completely suppressed, and it was nearly impossible for even those near him to detect him when to their senses he was a mass of un-life.

If there were any Primordials checking for his death through the threads of Fate and Destiny, they would not be able to find him unless he gave them his location. Rowan knew that the Primordials understood that he was not dead. In the end, their infighting and innate arrogance had given him a chance to push for more than they could expect, and Rowan would make sure they paid for it.

None of them were still underestimating him any longer. Killing several Thrones and the creation of the New Light was more than enough reason for him to be ranked as the most dangerous entity in Reality, and they would put him down like an animal when the next battle began.

The second reason Rowan kept all the essence of death inside his body was his desire to find the origin of the dimensions. At this moment, Rowan was on two paths when it came to cultivation.

The first path was that of the dimensional path, which involved his dimensional flesh and his dimensional soul, and the second path was his Origin Land.

Rowan was not willing to leave either of these two paths and was determined to walk both to the end. His dimensional pathway was born from Reality and the Primordials, but his Origin Land was more unique; it had not existed before, something that came from nothing.

It was powerful, but unlike the dimensional pathways that had been laid down and followed by the Primordials and most of the extra dimensional entities, Rowan had no road to tread, and the only way he was able to utilize his Origin Land was to feed its power to his bloodlines, but that was not how he should be using this power.

Knowledge and mastery would come in time, but he would focus on his dimensional flesh and soul for now.

Although Rowan suspected that perhaps he was able to gain the Origin of Fate due to the presence of his Origin Land, it should not be a coincidence that he gained Fate Origin when he began to fully actualize the power of his Origin Land. If that was the case, then his quest for gaining the Origin for all his dimensional levels might go more smoothly than he thought.

Leaving the first and second dimensions aside—Rowan already had plans for those—he needed to focus on the third, which was the dimension of Space.

With the power of death, Rowan would degrade his dimensional flesh to the limit while he was inside Reality. With this method, he hoped to connect to the fundamental aspects of Space and how it was related to existence and grasp its Origin.

The final reason was because of Noctis. If Rowan could create a New Light, he could create a New Death. Unlike the New Light, who had the domain of Old Light to pull from, Noctis would not have anything of that sort, because Primordial Life had suppressed Death and made Life a foundation of Reality, so Noctis could not be as strong as Eva, or his influence would be as great.

However, if Rowan could collect the dominion of Death from Primordial Life and give it to Noctis, then he would become a half-step ninth-dimensional entity, and with Noctis’ connection with the realm of Death, who knew if he might be able to reach the level of a Primordial.

Rowan doubted it, but he could be mistaken.

Nevertheless, he was not intending to keep this Essence of Death inside of him for long, and instead of getting rid of it, then channeling it all to Noctis to boost his base, the same way he would be increasing the base of Staff fifty years from now to accommodate an Agreement with him.

An Agreement was necessary even though they were all on the same side. Power was corrupting, and its weight was something that few could bear. Without this Agreement, Rowan could not give anyone power that could shake all of existence.

Leaving a Reflection here to convey his will to those who needed him, Rowan began to dig himself into Reality, his quest for the Origin of Space beginning.

Even as his main body left, the conversation with Noctis did not end, and he could not help but be dragged into a conversation with this man, who had lived for over twelve Major Eras, and a question made Rowan focus on Noctis.

“I can not help but notice the proliferation of the dead Primordial Essence now flowing through Reality and getting stronger as we speak. Are you the one responsible for making it so? No, that is an ignorant question; it can only be you. But I would like to ask, how did you do it?”

Rowan cocked his head to the side as he thought about the words of Noctis, noticing how the man grimaced in anger when he said Primordial Essence, and he said,

“I will answer your question if you will tell me why you think that the Primordial Essence is dead?”

“Primordial Essence?! Ah! Those thieves would take even the name of her gift. This thing that enters Reality is not the Essence of Primordials; they are Destroyers, hence they cannot create. This is the Essence of Eosah, and she is no more, else you would have heard her song in the breeze, Rowan, and it would be the most lovely sound you will ever hear.”

Noctis looked away, his face filled with horror and shame, “Even dead, she still provides.”

“The Essence of Eosah you say, interesting,” Rowan mused before deciding to answer the question of Noctis, “I am indeed the one who brought this change upon Reality, I admit I do not understand all the mechanisms behind the process, because I used the Singularity, World Stele to pierce through the membrane of Reality.

Rowan shook his head in exasperation, “I had previously believed that this Essence I unleashed upon Reality came from Limbo, I never knew it was Eosah’s.”

Noctis grimaced, “I see that you have not been inside of Limbo, and you will think that such bounty may be available freely, but it is not. Limbo is a place of endless hunger and suffering, and the Primordials roam its endless depths, their hunger straining against all things. Even if Eosah Essence is dead, if it were freely available in Limbo, then wars would be fought for it, the likes that you can not even imagine.”

“I can imagine a lot of things,” Rowan smiled.

“Not this,” Noctis replied, a haunted look in his eyes, “You cannot imagine something like this. With your lack of knowledge about Limbo, I will also have to assume that you do not know where Singularities come from.”

Rowan’s focus became absolute as he stared at Noctis, making this ancient being shiver under his gaze,

“No, I do not know the true origins of Singularities. I have guesses, but I am sure there are things I have missed.”

Noctis withered under the gaze of Rowan, but this did not stop him from speaking,

“In Limbo, this information is not prevalent, but I was able to learn it as a crow of Death because I saw it happen. I saw the birth of a Singularity.”

Noctis blinked a look of struggle in his eyes, “I don’t think I was able to see a fraction of what took place, and I believe if I were able to really see what happened… the things I would have learned would have made me a Primordial.”

With a sigh, Noctis rubbed his face with both hands, “I am sorry for delaying your answer, Rowan, but you more than most should know the weight of memories. To answer your question, the origin of Singularities lies in the death of Realities. They say not all dead Realities are able to produce a Singularity, only those that died with great grievances.”

For the next fifty years in real time, Rowan broke himself down with the Essence of Death and his Will, his dimensional flesh was extremely massive, but as he degraded it, he began to shrink, and across Reality a billion spots filled with pocket dimensions holding his flesh began to arise.

They were hidden deep inside Reality, and so it was almost impossible for anyone to find them, and so it was truly surprising when a Titan and a Celestial Creator broke into the pocket dimension where Rowan was refining his flesh.

Rowan acquired the eye from the descendant of the Torch Dragon, and this drew his attention to the changes that had been ongoing in Reality for a while now, which had started with him.
