A sense of intense violation filled the soul of the Flame Guard, whose neck stump had become a window for this shadow tentacle to violate. With all the knowledge gathered about the Endless Vault Meditation Art used by Andar, there was no place where the shadow of his Light Devourer should be so powerful that it had been able to cut through the forcefield surrounding the armor easily and was now intent on possessing her armor.
Knowing this sort of impossible creature that Andar was, she wondered why it was so surprising that even the beast that should be nothing but a nuisance had possessed so much power to cut through her neck.
Becoming a Flame Guard was her dream, and she had broken all records to be the youngest Flame Guard ever chosen. This was to be her most significant moment, the chance to bring down one of the foremost geniuses in all of history, and here she was failing at this task.
Mindless rage filled her heart, and there was no longer any thought of bringing Andar in alive; his existence was an affront to her senses, and she did not care if what she was about to do would kill her. She unhesitatingly followed the thought in her heart.
The discomfort of donning the armor and becoming a Flame Guard had almost desensitized her to pain, and this was the reason that she could find the presence of mind to connect with the nine other Flame Armors and unleash the power inside all of them.
Firm barriers were put in place to stop something like this from happening, but she was a powerful mage, and Frost Mourne gave her the ability to chew through enchantments like these that blocked any sort of remote control of the armor. However, she hardly faced any restrictions when she triggered this shift, and she did not bother to think of the reason why this was possible.
Her mind cracked into broken shards.
The weight of this action was too much for an Archmage’s soul to bear. No matter whether her Supreme Talent or her Meditation Art, Frost Mourne gave her all the energy she could ever need. Regardless, the effects of her actions were resounding.
Although the combined domains of the Flame Guards was concentrated around the silver sphere, its range was a thousand miles in circumference and despite the clash between Andar and the Flame Guard was short, the emanation of power from their location was palpable enough to draw the attention of the multitude of mages all around the realm and beyond who could easily decipher that the Supreme Magus was intensely angered by his actions.
If not for the intense changes happening inside their bodies and the words that Andar had said before this transformation began, they would have all rushed down to defend him. Still, there were those among them who did not care about the cost of interference; only a fool would not understand what these changes could mean to Reality. If Andar was responsible for releasing such power to all, he needed to be protected at all costs.
They pushed ahead, and there were a surprising number of them who braved the symbol of the Supreme Magus, defying his will to come to the aid of the young mage.
They had pressed forward to help the mage who they believed had more potential for greatness than the Supreme Magus, but in the thousand-mile circumference around Andar, the Domain of the Flame Guards was an impossible for them to breakthrough and they could not proceed a single inch even when several higher dimensional mages poured their strength against the barrier.
With the mania increasing in the crowd for fear of Andar’s fate, many who rushed forward were almost crushed against the invisible barrier keeping them from reaching him.
However, in the moment when the Flame Guard, in her madness, unleashed all the power contained in their armor, the barrier that had been invisible turned glaring red and became frighteningly scorching, transforming the hundreds of thousands closest to it into ash, including several higher-dimensional mages as well.
The barrier pulsed with a bright flash and began to shrink, all of that power centering on the ten Flaming Armors, with Andar at the center bearing the brunt of this power.
That brief, bright flash of light was like dropping a high-yield nuclear bomb on an ant hill. Due to their proximity, tens of millions were evaporated in a single moment.
“FWOOSSHH!”
The shockwave that arose from that brief flash of power was incredibly powerful. It pushed everyone and everything away for countless miles, the force from it killing countless mages and shattering the heavens and the earth for millions of miles.
Rivers and mountains were crushed and tossed aside like scraps, and when everything settled, the surrounding ground for tens of millions of miles had been turned to glass. Yet, it was this powerful shockwave that reduced the number of deaths from the heat of the flash of light; otherwise, the death toll would be much greater.
As incredibly damaging as this flash of light had been, it was just the smallest portion of the barrier’s power reflected outwards due to the limited will of the Flame Guard, who conjured this power. If she had been stronger, the light would have lasted much longer, and it would not be a stretch of the imagination for a third of the realm to be scorched. Nevertheless, the true devastation occurred within the barrier, where her focus had been directed.
A bright pillar of red flame shot into space, erupting from the shrinking barrier. As the barrier reduced further, the pillar of flame kept rising, and the heat that was focused inwardly was so great that the ground, which had been repeatedly reinforced to contain the might of the star underneath, began to melt into nothingness, as its atoms vaporized under that incredible heat that defied meaning.
The Supreme World of Mages took the form of a massive, bright yellow star, but surrounding the star like a Dyson Sphere were the surface lands where most of the mages lived. This land had been repeatedly tempered until it was indestructible in every conventional sense.
The power of the Supreme Sun underneath this land had tempered it to the extent that the Magus Council protected every single grain of sand on this realm because the earth became a valuable resource, since it was particularly heat resistant, and every year, many Mages were caught smuggling out the profound earth of the Magus Realm.
Armor crafted from this earth was invulnerable to flame and heat, and it could be easily merged with other materials, making it a very versatile resource.
Nonetheless, it did not matter how profound the earth was in this realm when the power that nurtured it was turned towards destruction.
