The Primordial Record

Chapter 1313: Will Of Elder (9)

The Eyes of Divus flashed yellow with exhilaration, and she attempted to stand up from the throne of sand and blood, chains of light and darkness held her back, and she looked down as a flash of anger brushed through her beautiful face, and then she looked at Rowan before sighing,

"Why are you free before me, when you are nothing but a dumb pile of muscle?"

Rowan remained silent, but whoever Divus was, she certainly liked the sound of her voice because she continued speaking,

"Well, at least it is a good thing that you have resurrected my name, spread it across the lower lifeforms in this new reality that those Primes have made for themselves, and in time I would be able to begin entering their minds and corrupting their source."

Rowan straightened, it took longer than he would have liked, but he had acclimated to the sound of her voice, the trick to it was rather simple, he shifted his perception to that of the Primordial Ouroboros.

Usually, he did not use the perception of the Ouroboros Serpents to perceive reality, even as a living dimension, the perception of the serpents was still too alien for him, it was disconcerting wanting to eat his children anytime he saw them.

The serpents were not creatures that could stand the sight of weaker creatures, they were the first supreme hunters in existence and their hunger knew no bounds, if not for the control that Rowan had with the assistance of his other bloodlines, it was unknown what he would have become, most likely a homicidal maniac whose goal was to kill and devour everything in existence, and because of how fiendishly intelligent his serpents were, his acts of atrocities would not be random, but careful acts of genius that was in pursuit of only one goal, to wipe out all lesser life forms to soothe a hunger that would never end.

No one said Primordial Beasts were the better option.

With the perception of the Ouroboros Serpent, the voice of Divus was no longer overwhelming, instead it was simply annoying.

Rowan was discovering that perhaps the Primordial Beasts were not a tight-knit group as he had first assumed.

Something odd happened as he shifted his perception, his shape was no longer that of a man, but took the form of a serpent, massive and filled with an Aura of menace, his scales were not golden as he was used to but they were black like an endless void, and his eyes were also black, even his fangs and the insides of his mouth were black, and drawn by instinct he moved closer to Divus,

"I do not know where the others are suppressed, but I think there is a chance that Leviathan was… are you listening to me, Ouroboros, or have your endless hunger fiscally driven you mad? You should not worry about that for long, when we rule, everything the Prime built will be your food, and for once we will not hold you back when you begin consuming this reality. What agency do you have to begin shattering reality, this Era needs to fall so we can rise."

Rowan was now close to the throne that Divus sat upon, and he began to climb, and before long he was staring at the Primordial Beasts, yet with his eyes that were blacker than night it was hard to tell if he even had eyes at all.

Divus wanted to bring her hand up to touch him, but the chains of light and darkness appeared, stifling any of her movements and making her groan in anger,

"Even after all of this Era, nobody else knows my name, even when I can sense the call of my bloodline flooding this pathetic reality that the Primes have created…"

Rowan finally spoke, his voice different, unlike his deeper baritone, this one was smoother, almost like honey in the ears, for all the menace and the incomparable horror that the Ouroboros Serpents represented, their voice was a thing of endless charm,

"You do not have to worry about the future, Divus, I promise that they shall all know your name soon enough."

Divus cocked her head to the side, and then she smiled,

"You say all the right things, you look the right way, but you are different are you not? How is this possible? Ouroboros, did your Essence evolve? Was this the plan of the Primes, to change our Essence so they could find a method to kill us?"

Rowan’s tongue flicked out repeatedly, he was not too surprised that he had been quickly found out, as it did not take long for him to understand that this was not just a Memory Dimension, Divus was actively communicating with him, and although that should be impossible, there was certain interaction that was happening between two Primordial Beasts in the same Memory dimension that could trigger a change like this.

He suspected that if he was not a Primordial Beast, then Divus would not be able to communicate with him, and any other creature would be dead anyway before they could even understand what they were seeing.

"I can only answer your first question Divus, I am different from the Ouroboros Serpent you remember."

"But that is impossible, our Essence is forever, except… a Singularity!" Divus suddenly burst into laughter, "Hahaha, please don’t tell me those arrogant Primes still failed, all their talks, all their arrogant posturing, yet it all ends in this rather stunning development, hahaha!"

Rowan shook, he knew that the mysteries behind the Singularities were deep, and it was involved in the highest level of existence, but there seemed to be much more to this story than he had first thought.

"Divus," he asked politely, "What do you know about Singularities?"

She suddenly stopped laughing, "Enough to know that even though I am glad that those arrogant bastards failed, I am still not satisfied, because my joy is similar to me drinking poison to satisfy a thirst. A Singularity should have never gotten access to a bloodline of our level, and you being here is not for my salvation, is it, little Ouroboros."

Rowan was silent for a while before he nodded, "I have your Will, but it is different now."

"Ah, I see, what could break our Will?"

Multiple exact voices from the mouth of the Ouroboros Serpent answered her, "This!"

Divus froze on her throne, the Ouroboros Serpent in front of her opened its maws wide, and because inside its mouth was extremely dark, it was impossible to understand what was happening at first, but then the serpent seemed to lengthen, and it was not a trick of the light, crawling from its mouth was another exact Ouroboros Serpent, and when it fully emerged, it was the same size as the first Ouroboros Serpent.

As if electricity was passing through her spine, Divus muttered in incredulity, "What… what… is happening?!"

The second Ouroboros Serpent opened its mouth, and before Divus’s astonished gaze, another Serpent crawled out of it, and this continued happening with the third serpent giving birth to the fourth serpent, and the fourth giving birth to the fifth, until the sixth.

The six Ouroboros Serpents encircled her throne and their rich and smooth voice entered her ears,

"You know by this time, there is something I am usually being called…"

Divus whispered, "You are an abomination."

"Ah yes," the six serpents smiled, "there it is."
