The Martial Unity

Chapter 3186: Squeezing Secrets

Chapter 3186: Squeezing Secrets

The very moment he recuperated and woke up, he was deeply excited to begin exploring the possibilities with the evosapien cell.

He found Amare by his side in the isolated chamber where he was placed for recuperation. She knelt on the ground, gazing at him with a gentle gaze as her head rested on her hands.

She smiled at him softly. “Good sleep?”

“The best,” Rui replied with a determined tone. “Let’s get to work.”

“The Psycher has requested a meeting with you,” Amare remarked as she watched him get out of bed. “He asked me to remind you of your debt to him and that he had waited eleven years for it.”

Rui heaved a sigh. “Fine. But the very moment I’m done with this Psycher business, I’m going to bury myself in dealing with evosapien biology.”

“Didn’t you say you would need the Divine Doctor?”

“Well, probably, but I’m not so helpless that I can’t experiment and figure it out,” Rui replied. “If the Divine Doctor didn’t exist, I would not be resigned to never figuring it out; it’s just easier with him because of his knowledge. I will try an initial round of experiments, but if that doesn’t work out, then I will have to look for him in the True World. It will probably take some time.”

“Is he hard to find?” she raised an eyebrow.

“Very,” Rui recalled how far he needed to go to find him the first time. “I needed to track down the Silas Clan, which was also very difficult to find and use my grandmother’s prophecy to find him, along with other innovations.”

He shook his head.

“Ah well, all in good time. We can worry about that after exploring the true world. For now…”

Rui got up, stretching up tall.

“For now, we should finish all our business on this continent before we leave. And I suppose the Psycher is one of them.”

She nodded as her amber eyes fell into thought.

CLACK

The door to the chamber opened as Rui found an assistant waiting for him outside.

“Your Highness, I’ve been appointed to guide you wherever you’d like.”

Rui nodded.

“Take me to the Psycher.”

“As you wish, Your Highness.”

They were guided through the internal core of the Esocline Federation, through countless departments and divisions of research and development. Amare grew fascinated and amazed at each laboratory that followed.

Some labs were focused entirely on MECHA engineering as a new, budding field of engineers had erupted vociferously. Rui was aware that at this point in time, all Sage-level powerhouses harbored MECHA Artists.

After all, seventeen years had passed since the Esoterist had first introduced it in the Human Summit. Nations had slowly begun preparing for the large-scale adaptation of these new weapons that elevated Martial Power by virtually an entire Realm over the years, and in the time that Rui had spent in the Central Highlands of the Beast Domain fighting against quasi-Transcendent beasts and monsters, they had proliferated across human civilization.

Like the blood humans, MECHAs were known to have the potential to destroy the current Martial World as it was. While Martial Artists around the world were dismayed at the innovation, they were still adopted nigh universally, barring a handful of nations that were overwhelmingly Martial Supremacistic.

After all, the only thing that mattered was power.

No matter what form it took.

Even as Rui and Amare studied the labs that dealt with MECHAs in one way or another, the former knew that they were only going to get bigger and bigger.

The reason for this was the dwarves.

Their juggernauts were truly powerful, able to fight many Martial Sages at once with the destructive power they possessed. If not for the Great Nam Ocean catching them off guard, they would never have been able to deal with them so easily.

It was a validation of everything that the Esoterist had envisioned.

Eventually, however, they moved away from the research and division departments and into a less academic facility.

One where the captured tekvore was kept.

CLACK

The door assistant opened the door, gesturing to them.

Inside was an observation chamber.

A giant monitor featuring the feed from a single camera.

A feed that displayed tekvore prisoner, Plasmatron, and the Psycher sitting opposite to him.

The former was distressed.

He sweated where he sat, shaking his head aggressively as he shivered with fear.

Rui’s eyes widened as he looked at the Psycher.

Gone was the old, blind, and crippled man.

In his place was a strapping young man with the vigor and vitality of youth.

What stunned Rui was the fact that his eyes and hair were red.

“That bastard…” he cursed.

Inside the chamber, however, the Psycher remained focused on the distressed tekvore. The latter looked sickly and pale.

His body looked crumpled and deflated.

They had removed a lot of the technological systems from within the being.

An ordinarily impossible feat while also keeping the tekvore alive and lucid, possible only thanks to the cooperation between the Divine Doctor and the Esoterist.

It made his body look like a broken water bed.

And yet, his distress on this particular occassion came from the Psycher alone.

Before them was a map.

A map of the Imperial Tekvorian Federation.

One obtained from the satellite systems of the Esocline Federation, no doubt.

The powerful technocratic civilization spanned much of the Acherialis Continent on the inner side, facing the Panama Continent.

Despite having been captured from satellites, the image was strangely blurry.

The Psycher smiled gently at the tekvore.

It was a chilling smile.

His blood-red eyes glowed with power.

“Now then, are you ready to show me where all the military bases are located?”

His voice was warm and welcoming.

And yet, the tekvore shivered.

It closed its eyes, looking away from the maps.

“Oh dear…” the Psycher pressed a button on a remote control device. “I’m afraid I need you to look at the map for this to work.”

BZZZT

The tekvore’s neck shifted as his eyes opened forcefully, against his will.

“Now then…” the Psycher smiled softly at the tekvore. “…Let me ask you again.”

His tone grew even more gentle.

“Where are the military bases in the Imperial Tekvorian Federation?”
