The Martial Unity

Chapter 3118: The Truth

Rui breathed deeply as he closed his eyes.

It was done.

He had armed human civilization with the Beast Excursion.

He had formed an alliance with Jormungandr and had harnessed the terrifying monsters within the depths of the Great Nam Ocean to their defensive efforts.

He had done everything he knew he had to do, even as he had lost consciousness a month ago.

He was grateful that human civilization lasted long enough.

It lasted long enough for him to return.

His gaze shifted in the direction of the Town of Vargard as he launched himself at extraordinary speeds across the skies of the Kandrian Empire. Of the countless people that he needed to meet with and speak with, one of them certainly ranked far above the others in terms of importance and imperativeness.

He had foreseen that his father would unite and harness the power of human civilization and the Martial Sages. It was perhaps because of this one reason that humanity managed to survive long enough so that Rui could return before too much damage had been done.

He was grateful.

With a gentle step, he landed before the Vargard Royal Palace.

The Martial Artists stationed outside for protection gaped at him while the citizens outside the palace gasped with amazement and awe.

“Prince Rui…!”

“It’s the Dawnbringer!”

“He truly was back!”

The Martial Artists bowed deeply, expressing respect worthy of the most powerful Martial Artist in human civilization. “Welcome back, Your Highness!”

Rui simply nodded as he walked briskly into the palace and through its winding corridors. The entire palace had been in a state of disarray because of the recent pressures that the Panamic Alliance had faced and the mounting workload that came with it.

His return was nothing but a profound sense of relief for the people of the Kandrian Government as his powerful, unfathomable presence instilled a deep reassurance in the people of Kandria.

STEP

He had arrived at his father’s Royal Office, guarded by two Martial Masters.

CLACK

The doors opened, revealing the familiar old Royal Office in more disarray than he had ever seen it in. A myriad of reports and other documents requiring his approval, input, and his signature sat on his table, scattered messily.

The room itself looked like it hadn’t undergone the daily deep cleaning that left it spotless before the Emperor of Harmony could even set foot in it, largely because his father had undoubtedly spent many sleepless nights, managing the crisis that the true world had thrust into his arms, undoubtedly.

The most unsightly thing in the room was undoubtedly his father.

His royal attire was crumpled and tattered, while his radiant golden hair was disheveled, and dark bags hung under his eyes prominently.

He simply gazed at Rui with a hint of relief and affection.

“Rui…” his voice was tired. “You have returned, and better than ever, it seems.”

“You seem worse than ever, on the other hand,” Rui remarked with a light tone. “Looks like the invasion of the true world in the past month has taken its toll on you, hm?”

His father frowned at those words. “Rui… you just got up ten minutes ago, how in the world do you know what is happening. And that roar… how did you do that? How did you restart the Beast Incursion, but to be on our side?”

“Beast Excursion,” Rui corrected him with a light tone, shrugging. “It’s really not that big of a deal. It’s a combination of copying the sounds of the Eldritch Chimera and combining it with my Mind Mask technique, as well as the Tree of Life, to enhance my perceived power to strengthen the hierarchy effect and get them to be subservient to me. I call it the ‘Roar of the Emperor of the Beast Domain.'”

“…That’s an unwieldy name.”

“Not as unwieldy as the roar itself,” Rui huffed, taking a seat opposite his father. “Thankfully, it allows us to fight back with greater strength. Oh, and also I formed an alliance with Jormungandr while I was at it, I presume that you’re cool with tha—”

“Stop.” His father pressed his temple, heaving a shaky, stressed breath out before gazing at his son.

“What is all of this?”

His tone was intense.

The air grew heavy as his expression grew severe.

It was a vague question, and yet strangely enough, Rui understood exactly what he meant.

“My bad,” Rui heaved a sigh, shaking his head. “I should have started from the very start.”

He was the only one who truly knew what had happened after the Boundless Light and the Reverend of Reckoning departed from the epicenter of the Beast Domain. He was the only one who truly understood why all of what had unfolded had truly Unfolded.

“After Damian and I were the only ones left in the epicenter of the Beast Domain…”

Rui narrated the story of what happened.

He spoke about how Damian had utterly destroyed every speck of existence of the eldritch chimera and the alien tree, which was his black hole. He described how the destruction of the tree led to an unfathomably destructive wave of gravity, and how the Martial Transcendents personally intervened.

“All Martial Transcendents personally intervened…?” Emperor Rael grew stunned by the information that Rui divulged.

“That’s not all…” Rui continued to describe their last few minutes that the Transcendents had spent with him, bestowing him with the Truth of the Transcendent Realm and the knowledge of the great Fear that stayed their hand, as well as the consequences of the Transcendent Realm.

The Emperor of Harmony grew increasingly shocked with each revelation that Rui imparted to him regarding the truth of what had happened.

“…Ceasing to exist is the price of the Transcendent Realm?” his tone was stunned. “I see… no wonder… but to think that Transcendent Realm doesn’t even exist…”

He shook his head.

“It’s impossible to even fathom, but all of these revelations explain much of their behavior since they broke through.”

His expression grew severe at the notion of something that earned the fear of the Martial Transcendents.

“How can we possibly deal with something like that?”
