The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 767 - 767: The Dual-Headed Demon Face Spider (4)

Klaus ensured everyone understood the task.

“Only these four must not be killed. Subdue them and wait for me.” They all nodded.

“Very well. Now, I will assign the groups and the beasts you will face.”

He organized the groups in just five minutes and gave them the rest of the day to get familiar with each other.

The battle wouldn’t be easy without proper planning. Since he would also be fighting, he couldn’t guide them every step of the way.

So, he let them devise their own plans. Thanks to their large number, their battles would be less grueling than what he and the three ladies would face.

They will be going four against three, but those three were not opponents they could easily handle. Still, he had prepared well enough to know the plan came up with a high chance of success.

“Klaus, are you sure you can hold back the Peak Tier 11 and one of the Level 3s?” Queen Lunara asked.

“I can. I’m 100% sure I can do that. But I can’t go a second beyond ten minutes, so you three must handle your target quickly and conserve energy.

The main battle is the Peak Tier 11. I have a feeling we’ll be fighting for our lives tomorrow.”

The three ladies nodded with smiles.

They were each ready for a fierce battle tomorrow.

“Nari, you and Queenie will handle the second Level 3 after you’ve killed the first. Queen Lunara and I will take charge of attacking Peak Tier 11.

You’ll have a twenty-minute window, give or take, to handle Level 3 while preserving as much energy as possible for the big fight.

The battle must end in under four hours because we can’t hold back against that monster, and a prolonged fight won’t benefit us. In other words, the battle of attrition is a no go”

The ladies nodded again.

Klaus reviewed their skills and techniques for the next few minutes before dismissing them.

He, meanwhile, spent time revisiting his memories, recalling his skills and techniques, and selecting the ones he’d use in battle.

After that, he created multiple scenarios, utilizing the Hivemind to its fullest. After making sure he had arranged everything in order, he relaxed and started waiting for the next day when they would attack.

The next day, they moved into the forbidden zone.

“The map shows where each and every last one of the Tier 10 beasts will be. Use it to locate them, and let us know the moment you engage with the targets,” Klaus said, projecting the map he had prepared for the twelve teams.

They nodded and started moving according to the map.

The first team is led by Grand Elder Zeloria. She is a peak Tier 10 and an archer with exceptional sight. She will be leading Mark, Hanna, Kay, and Lycos.

Their target is a wyvern-type beast.

Since it’s an airborne beast, those who must handle it should also be airborne. Hanna, Kay, and Grand Elder will handle the long-range attacks while creating openings for Mark and Lycos.

It took them a few minutes to engage with their target and then send the signal. A few seconds later, the second team also engaged with their target.

This team is led by Overlord Dharma.

The beast they went against is called Dream Reaper. It’s a rather unique beast that uses illusions. Because of that, Klaus made one of the strongest Spirit Masters on Earth take the lead.

The third team is led by Overlord Tydor, or, as most call him, Overlord of the Sea. They will be facing the Lightning Thorn, a panther-like beast with an affinity for lightning.

It also lives by a body of water.

Since Overlord Tydor is essentially Poseidon in the sea, this was a logical pairing.

Grand Elder Nyselle leads the fourth team. Her team is fighting a centipede called Bone Harvester. It’s one nasty fellow that will give them headaches, but the team isn’t weak either.

Grand Elder Ylthia, Ohema’s nemesis, was also leading another team against the Mirror Drake. It’s a crocodile that has evolved into an Earth Drake and is on the path to becoming an Earth Dragon.

Klaus knew from Ohema that, although she and the Grand Elder disagreed on many things, Ylthia was one of the most reliable and capable warriors Klaus could have on his team.

So, she is leading a team with Zayn, Danny, Vida, and Choi. To boost their defenses, they will need three Brutes and someone with a Metal affinity. Thankfully Klaus has more Brutes on the team.

The sixth team is headed by Grand Elder Halem. She is leading the charge against the Iron Juggernaut. This is a battle Klaus would love to watch, for it is against one of the two titans in the forbidden zone.

The mirror drake is the first titan.

The seventh team, led by Grand Elder Zaggen, clashed with one of the targets they would be taking alive, the Ice Banshee.

Klaus most certainly has big plans for this banshee, which is also why the team is made up of more Ice users.

Anna, Overlord Sorrine, Lucy, and Aria. They both are Ice users.

The eighth team was led by Overlord Isaac, who was leading a team against the Ember Husk. It’s a rather bony, dragon-like beast that drips ember lava and has serious burning abilities.

The ninth was led by Overlord Mira, who was leading the charge against the second beast they would capture alive, the Radiant Hound.

The tenth team was led by the War God, War God Liu Yang, who was leading the evacuation missions before Klaus arrived with the team.

He is leading the charge against the Void Serpent.

The eleventh team is led by Kathy, and they are going against the Crimson Crown, the third beast to be captured alive.

As for the last team, it’s led by Miriam, and it’s against the Abyss Engine.

Klaus wants this to succeed, considering that having a beast from the Machine Beast Race wouldn’t only make Earth gain a powerhouse but this will also open doors for him in the future.

Soon, battles in twelve different locations were in full bloom.

Klaus, Nari, Queenie, and Queen Lunara were now standing at a peak, staring at the location where the battle would be happening.

They could sense that the Peak Tier 11 was aware of their presence and was even looking at them as they stood there.

“This is it,” Klaus said with a smile.

“There is no going back now.” Nari smiled, already in her Spearman form.

“Nobody should die on me. And please, pose for the cameras. We will be going live soon.” Klaus retrieved the large cauldron.

“Very well, here I go.”

His wings appeared, and with that, he flew toward the belly of the beast.
