Chapter 1434: Arad: The Great Emperor
Dendron flew forward as fast as she could, aiming at Doma. Until now, Doma is the only threat. No one had managed to wound her like this before.
Doma dodged Dendron’s fist and teleported through the exploding, sharp branches and strange waves of radiating spirit magic. “As they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Doma smiled and turned into mist, appearing right behind Arad, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I’m nothing but a ghost, a vestige of his power.”
The world around them suddenly turned dark as Arad sucked them all into his Elemental Expansion.
Dendron looked around, finding herself in complete darkness, without air or light. But none of that was a problem for her. A spirit that lived for as long as she had many tricks up her sleeves, and both wind and light magic weren’t that hard to gain.
As she looked forward, she could see Arad standing in front of her like a mountain with Doma still latched onto his neck. And something was off. It took Dendron a second to notice, but since they are separated from the World Tree, Arad could let loose.
Something about this towering, ten-spirit-tall, giant made him extremely intimidating and threatening at the moment. It was the bright purple flare in his eyes and the blinding stars above them. To her, a spirit of the woods, fire, and heat are her mortal enemies.
Arad lifted his hands, and a black hole appeared dancing between his fingers, spinning wildly as it split into two smaller black holes. As some of the light from the stars above rained down and disappeared into the two black holes, something strange happened.
The black holes shifted shape from spears into two massive blades. Dendron could see another woman latch onto Arad’s back. This one, she knew. “BITCH! What are you doing here?” That was Isabelle, Creation.
But before Dendron could get an answer, Arad was already upon her, swinging his massive blades with enough force to force the ancient spirit to dodge. She didn’t want to try blocking that hit.
As Dendron dodged Arad’s sword, she got slapped by a golden hand that flew right after the blade, which sent her flying back at a tremendous speed like a mosquito swatted by a newspaper.
“The other bitch too?” Dendron growled as she saw Kali joining the party on Arad’s back. She then realised that what she was seeing weren’t the real people, just the vestiges of their power taking shape on Arad’s back as he pulls a lot of power from them.
“Listen! It’s cheating to be the paladin of so many gods, and that witch!” Dendron flew back, “And what the hell are you? You aren’t just pulling enough power from them to become an angel, you’re almost literally carrying the gods’ power on your back.”
Her words fell on a deaf ear as Arad was only focused on one thing: to make that one fairy in front of him a past tense.
Dendron found herself stuck trying to dodge Arad’s wild swings. The black swords were strange, pulling anything that got close, which made evading them as hard as trying to dodge a gravity spell that tracked her. They were gravity blades after all, sculpted from a blackhole.
If dodging the swords wasn’t hard enough, each of Arad’s attacks was followed by a swing from Kali’s golden hands, which almost always managed to catch Dendron with a powerful slap, as if someone had cursed her to have bad luck. And she knows who cursed her.
But all of this was still manageable; she could dodge the swords, tank the golden hands, and deliver a few attacks to Arad in the hope of breaking his Elemental Expansion.
This would’ve been fine if the literal stars weren’t falling on her head. The glowing pale specs of luminous radiance in the sky above were burning [Ho-white Nova]s, thousands of them, and they started falling down, chasing Dendron all around Arad’s expansion as she tried to run away from him.
“The white stars of the Fire Goddess as well? You fat womanizer! No, those whores what gotten into their minds, all sticking to one man like this?” She dodged the falling stars and reached Arad, barely slipping beneath his swords, and aimed her fist at his torso.
At that moment, two burning, purple plasma swords emerged from his stomach and flew right at her face. She teleported back, barely surviving with a gouged eye and half of her face burned.
From beneath Arad’s massive arms, two more arms of golden blood emerged, carrying two massive plasma swords as large as the blackhole ones.
“So you’ve got four arms now? Vampire blood mixed with Kali’s divine magic. Listen, you aren’t supposed to be able to chain divine magic like that, even if you were a god. No one can command divine energy to get in bed with vampiric magic like it’s nothing!”
As she was retreating, Arad turned around and swung his rear, sending a deadly tail swipe at her. He was still in his half-dragon form, and his tail was also a weapon.
Dendron flew above Arad’s tail swipe and lifted her arm, conjuring a massive wooden spear that was several tens of meters long, made of the indestructible wood of the World Tree. “All vampires shall be impaled!” She flung it at him with enough force to set it ablaze.
Arad’s wings covered him like a cocoon, deflecting the spear but still suffering a lot of damage. For a moment, Arad seemed to recoil a bit, and that allowed Dendron the opening to charge in for another attempt at taking his life.
Only for her to realise that he wasn’t recoiling, and that he was now charging at her head first, aiming to ram her with long black horns.
Dendron grabbed Arad’s horns and pushed herself aside, barely avoiding getting her chest impaled. It was already so tiny and as flat as a cutting board, and he almost dented it.
“Listen! There are places that you just can’t hit!” She growled, flying away while engulfing herself in a glowing, protective bubble of radiant spirit magic.
Arad suddenly disappeared from where he was standing and appeared in front of her.
“And you can teleport? Leave something for everyone else!” She cried as Arad roared, pulling her toward him with a forceful gravity field. His blackhole swords were already dropping on her head faster than a meteor, making even Death run as if she was late to work.
