After paying, the two headed to their room.
"Chu Liyuan, why did you only book one room? I don’t want to share a bed with you!" Chu Zhiyuan exclaimed upon seeing the only large bed in the room.
"Are you overthinking things?" Chu Liyuan helplessly glanced at Grandpa.
"Then what is this about?" Chu Zhiyuan gestured towards the large bed.
"If you really want to sleep alone tonight, I can go down and book another room for you!" Chu Liyuan coldly retorted.
"What you mean is..." Chu Zhiyuan finally caught on to Chu Liyuan’s intention, "One room is actually quite nice, I think booking one room is very good!" He gave Chu Liyuan a thumbs up.
Chu Liyuan shook his head and turned to enter the bathroom. He hadn’t bathed since last night, and he’d sweated a lot on the way here. Now, his clothes sticking to his body felt incredibly uncomfortable, and he didn’t want Jian Jian to see him like this.
While Chu Liyuan was bathing, Chu Zhiyuan ordered some food from the front desk; since last night, all he sustained on was a single piece of candy.
The food here wasn’t very rich, but it was incredibly fresh and free of pollutants!
"Chu Liyuan, come and eat something quickly! I’m starving, the food here tastes really good, different from what we usually have," Chu Zhiyuan called out to Chu Liyuan who just came out of the bathroom.
Chu Liyuan, wearing a bathrobe, sat across from Chu Zhiyuan.
"What about your own clothes? You’re not planning to meet Little Jian dressed like this, right?"
"Well, I’d like to change if I had something to change into," Chu Liyuan helplessly replied.
"Oh! That’s right! We left in such a hurry, we didn’t bring anything, so there’s nothing we can do. Looks like you’ll just have to meet Little Jian like this!" Chu Zhiyuan gloated.
"Comrade Chu Li, better not talk about me. Isn’t your situation the same? Of course, you can choose not to take a bath and meet Granny all sweaty and smelly, I won’t object," Chu Liyuan teased.
Chu Zhiyuan pouted, "You little stinker, you just can’t take a loss, can you?"
"No choice, I was raised in this kind of environment!" He said with a knowing look at Chu Zhiyuan.
"Aren’t you hungry? Eating still won’t shut you up!" Unable to win the argument, he resorted to sulking.
Chu Liyuan simply smiled, not uttering a word, and started to eat. The physical exertion tonight was not going to be small; he had to replenish his energy!
As the two men dined in the room, Jian Dan and Granny were having a great time.
"This place is like a treasure trove, Granny! I don’t want to leave at all!" Jian Dan excitedly exclaimed.
"Isn’t it? I had the same thought when I first came here."
"I think when we get older, Uncle and I could retire here!" Jian Dan grew more excited as she spoke.
"Better think carefully about that!" Granny advised.
"Why? I find this place perfectly suitable for retirement."
"Indeed, but not particularly for someone like you."
"Eh?"
"Normally, people get bitten by a lot of mosquitoes here, and with your mosquito-attracting body type, staying a few days is manageable. But if you lived here, aren’t you afraid the mosquitoes would eat you alive?"
"Heh heh... I didn’t think of that!" Jian Dan laughed a bit embarrassed.
"It’s normal. With such beautiful surroundings, it would be strange if you did think about it."
"All those romantic scenes under the trees and in the forests in TV dramas are deceptive."
"No! You can’t say they’re deceptive, they do look romantic to the eyes, but maybe your body wouldn’t agree," Granny quipped.
"If only Uncle were here," Jian Dan sighed.
"If that old coot hadn’t made me angry, I would’ve wanted all four of us to come here together!" Mo Qingqin looked at the scenery before her with a touch of disappointment.
"Granny, don’t be mad at Grandpa. I bet he’s going crazy looking for you by now, don’t you feel sorry for him?"
"I... I don’t... feel sorry? Why would I feel sorry? I’m not sorry at all!" Granny said against her better judgment.
"So what would it take for Granny to forgive Grandpa?"
"That... I haven’t decided yet! Anyway, I won’t forgive him that easily!"
Little did Granny know that she’d soon have to eat her words.
