Chapter 820: Destruction
The Black Sun was one of the only moves that had to be neutralized—it could not be dodged, evaded, or outmaneuvered, because its ridiculous blast radius ensured that anything caught within miles of its detonation would be incinerated to nothingness.
It was simply impossible to escape it’s range unscathed, which was why confronting it was the only option.
Anos and Drogo both knew this instantly.
There was no time for hesitation.
No time to consider alternative strategies.
The attack had already been unleashed, and in mere seconds, it would consume them both.
Drogo’s mind raced. The Black Sun was his creation, but he had never once needed to block it before.
The very idea of countering it was absurd—it was a move meant to end battles, not something one could survive head-on.
For the first time in his existence, he found himself in an unfamiliar position—one where he was not the one wielding the Black Sun, but the one facing it.His dragon eyes flickered.
It wasn’t just the heat, the sheer force, or the gravitational weight of the move that made it this terrifying, it was the imploding explosion that came at the end.
“We stop it here, now,” Anos said firmly, his grip tightening around Doomcaller, his mind already cycling through every possible countermeasure.
Drogo let out a sharp exhale, his lungs expanding, his entire being roaring with resistance.
If the Black Sun was fire—then he would consume it with fire.
If it was an unstoppable celestial force—then he would match it with destruction of his own.
[FIRE STORM]
With a deafening roar, a hurricane of dragon fire erupted from his mouth, circling outward in a massive spiral, wrapping around the descending Black Sun like a coiling inferno.
The flames surged violently, twisting and wrapping around the celestial sphere, their bright orange and red hues warring against the all-consuming black flames.
For a brief moment, it seemed like the raging storm of fire was stalling the attack, as the spiraling currents of flames clashed and danced against the Black Sun, attempting to counteract its raw destruction.
But then—
The Black Sun twisted violently.
The moment Drogo’s fire touched it, it fed on the mana-rich flames, absorbing them into itself, its glow intensifying, its size expanding rather than shrinking.
Drogo’s pupils shrank.
It’s… absorbing my fire?!
From his back, Anos looked as if he already anticipated that Drogo alone wouldn’t be able to stop it.
Hence, he pitched in too—
“Don’t worry old friend, I’ll help–” he said, as although he had already used one void breaker slash, he decided to use it again for the final time to help avert this crisis at once.
His hands were already in motion—Doomcaller humming with unstable void energy, the blade rippling with spatial distortions, its edges gleaming with pure destruction, as he once again unleashed the strongest move in his arsenal.
[VOID BREAKER SLASH]
With a powerful downward cleave, a massive crescent of void energy erupted from his blade, cutting through space itself, roaring forward to meet the Black Sun head-on.
The sky trembled.
The two legendary attacks collided—
And for a single, agonizing second—
Silence.
Then—
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM—!!!
The entire battlefield erupted.
The collision sent an apocalyptic shockwave rippling outward, consuming the skies in a swirling explosion of black flames, void distortions, and sheer gravitational collapse.
The force was so overwhelming that the very air itself seemed to scream, as reality twisted and shattered in the wake of two unstoppable forces colliding at their peak.
The shockwave ripped through the clouds, tearing apart the sky itself, sending burning embers and black fire raining down onto the battlefield below.
A pulse of pressure burst outward—
CRACK—BOOM!
The few remaining wooden stands collapsed instantly, sending thousands of demons and humans tumbling down, their screams lost in the deafening aftermath.
The ground splintered, large fissures opening up, lava-like heat searing the surface where the attack’s aftershock touched down.
Drogo, still in midair, had no chance to react as the shockwave smashed into him, as his last act was to protect Anos as best as he could from the after-shocks.
However, after taking the brunt of the attack head-on, his massive body flung downward like a falling meteor.
He slammed into the battlefield with such force that the earth cratered beneath him, sending a cloud of smoke and dust billowing outward, his once-gleaming obsidian scales now cracked and burned.
Anos, despite Drogo’s shielding, was not much better off.
The explosion ripped through his defensive barriers, the force launching him like a ragdoll, his body tumbling through the sky before smashing into the ground, his greatsword ripping through the dirt as he skidded to a halt, a deep gash running down his arm.
The mighty Black Dragon and Demon King, once thought to be invincible, now lay on the battlefield—bruised, battered, and bleeding.
And for the first time in centuries, the demons watching trembled in fear.
The Black Sun had landed.
And it had not been stopped.
**********
On the other hand, Leo was not faring much better himself, however, he sure as hell did not show it.
Blood trickled down his mouth, as he suffered countless microscopic muscular tears throughout his body.
Despite the mana reinforcement, his body was simply not strong enough to unleash a move like the [Black Sun] and although he managed to somehow hold himself together, the resulting damage was still damning.
‘I can’t move properly, I won’t be able to last much longer in a drawn out battle…. I need to end this fight now–’ Leo realized, as although he walked with a big grin on his face, as if he had everything under control, internally he knew that his limbs felt as heavy as lead and that soon he was going to turn completely paralyzed.
“Tch, tch, tch, I’m so disappointed in you, Demon King, we decided to fight in this small battlefield, but you keep flying away like a coward.
Where is your honor? Why must I drag you back here?
Come fight me like a man if you have any balls—” Leo taunted, as he walked towards the injured Demon King with his arms spread out wide.
