There's a fragmented core piece of the Void Beast sealing space inside the gun. This information is definitely useful for something, but for now, I don't know how to make use of it.
After we got the gun repaired, Biran allowed us to stay for a day more just to make sure that I am already fine. They used some sort of scanner on me, something like a portable MRI, and decided that nothing was wrong with my brain. The memory loss I suffered seemed to be something that can't be fixed even with their technology.
As soon as the sun rose the next day, we were led out of the dwarves' workshop and towards the familiar forest-scape. As soon as we got out, the whole mountain slowly vanished like a fading image. In just a few seconds, the place where the large mountain was before was already a barren space with nothing but a large hole in the ground.
"They're gone..."
Ember muttered as she looked surprised. Well, seeing a whole mountain vanishing right in front of you should be shocking, truly.
The trip we expected to end in a day took us almost 5 days. However, it was a fruitful experience. Not only did we get the gun repaired, they even passed me an automatic bullet maker as a bonus! It's a special apparatus that can make any type of bullet casing with a press of a button.
The design was simple, like a small box with an inverted truncated rectangular pyramid atop it. It had a series of buttons to press on top of it with an LCD display to indicate the mode. It even uses the latent energy in the air so it doesn't even need a power source. How convenient.
Furthermore, Ember learned a lot of things while watching the dwarves working. Fang apparently succeeded in helping Ember complete her specialization, so she was definitely weaker in direct battles now compared to before. But her [Polymorph] skill got an extreme boost, enabling her to change the property of the clone to the target's material.
"Leader, I just remembered but..."
Fang placed a finger on her chin as she thought.
"... Don't we have things to deliver? Are we still fine, timewise?"
"... Oh, shit!"
When I, thanks to Fang's prompt, recalled that I actually accepted two delivery requests, I immediately panicked. The request from Yu Na surely doesn't have a time limit, but the one from the government office was definitely something urgent.
"Let's hurry, you two!"
I shouted as I led the charge into the forest. Our target: to reach the Virgil Family's Territory before dark!

In a dark space somewhere, hundreds of thousands of red and green letters were constantly flickering. With just one look, a large amount of information would immediately enter one's mind, enough to turn them crazy.
Inside that space, in the middle of it, voices could be heard. It was mechanical and gender-neutral as if a robot was talking.

[New tamer found. Assigning serial...]
[New tamer found...]
the same words were repeated with only the serial number part changing every time. The robotic voice was unchanging, always speaking the same words with the same tone. However, suddenly, large red texts floated.
[Notice: Ancient Bloodline activated... User detected... Identifying... Failed. Retrying... Failed. Retrying... Failed...]
Series of [Retrying... Failed] flooded the dark space soon enough. However, the robotic voice, seemingly desperate now, changed in tone and said something different.
[Attempting to promote user's credentials... Success... Opening the 20th function... Success... Indentifying...]
Using a bypass from the system, it successfully managed to gain access to the name of the user. The robotic voice, which was unchanging and neutral, suddenly spoke in an excited tone.
[User found. User ID: ****** ***** ******. Name: Will]
In the middle of the dark space, a pair of golden eyes opened slightly. With a parched, and seemingly longing voice, it called once more.
[... Found you...]

We reached the town where the Virgil Family resides right before the sun had set. I could be imagining it, but it seems that I got extremely faster compared to before. I could even outrun Fang at her full speed. Ember became the de-facto slowest in our team now.
After entering the town, we ran straight to the government office and delivered the goods. Its contents were apparently important documents that they would need for a meeting to be held tomorrow. The receptionist didn't blame us too much as we made it in time, albeit at the eleventh hour, but she still scolded us. We lightly apologized as we left the government office.
After leaving, we were troubled about what to do next. It was still too early to rest at an inn, but it was probably a bit too late to ask for an audience with the Virgil Family. In the end, we decided to at least try to apply for an official visit to the Virgil Family's head as Fang suggested. We did have items to deliver to him, so we have a proper reason to ask for an audience.
As we approach the location where the Virgil Family's estate should be located, I found a familiar face within the crowd. It was a girl with long black hair wearing a red chi pao.
"... Wan Li...?"
I muttered in a soft voice. Despite it being low in volume, Wan Li turned toward me and widened her eyes.
"Will? Why are you here?"
She asked while tilting her head, however, a faint and slightly sorry smile appeared on her face.
"Sorry, but we are in a hurry. I'll talk to you later."
"We?"
I asked as she seemed to be alone right now.
"Is Wan Er also with you?"
To this question, Wan Li quickly nodded her head before turning her head in front of us. There, I could see two more figures wearing different colored chi pao. One was definitely Wan Er as her twin tails were pretty obvious even from afar. The other person, however, sent a frown to my face.
"... Ying Yue..."
Hearing my mutter, Wan Li bowed her head slightly with her apologetic smile before heading out, catching up to the other two.
Looking at the direction that they are heading, it was pretty obvious that they were headed to the same place. I scratched my head, thinking about what to do.
It's not that I'm scared of Luo Ying Yue, but rather, of her mother. So honestly, I don't want to let her see me here. However, they must have business with the Virgils too, which makes it unknown just when they will finish their business and leave.
"Let's go, master."
Ember urged me forward, ignoring my inner turmoil.
"That's right, Leader. Let's go on ahead. It's not like they can do something to you here."
Fang added.
Seeing that the two already decided to go on, I just sighed as we continued on our way.
