System's POV

Chapter 1073 - 1073: Battle Through The Heavens [Part 1]

The Head Researcher felt his body trembling as he read the test results in real time.

However, once it reached the critical point, he heard a loud crack, making him look at the Healing Pod in shock.

“Increase the sedatives!” the Head Researcher shouted. “She must not wake up no matter what!”

A purple liquid was directly injected to the healing pod, making it change its color from green to purple.

For a brief moment, the readings plateau, making the Head Researcher breathe a sigh of relief.

However another loud crack reached his ears, making his face turn grim.

Suddenly, the glass of the healing pod burst outwards, sending glass, and the purple liquid flying in every direction.

Half a minute later, a naked Zia stepped out of it, not feeling a bit shy that the researchers were all staring at her in fright.

A faint light covered her body and when it disappeared, the young lady was already wearing clothes.

Her eyes glowed golden, and all the researchers fell into a trance, as if they were puppets that had lost their strings.

“Killing all of you will be a waste of your talents,” Zia thought. “Rocky, take them all.”

The Hellfire Bal-Boa’s head broke through the floor of the research facility. It then glanced at the stupefied researchers and devoured them all, taking them inside its mobile fortress.

“I can’t go with you,” Zia stated. “I will act as a decoy, so that you can escape. Head to Casimir City, and don’t worry about me. I will return without fail.”

Rocky hesitated for a bit, but after sensing powerful presences heading towards the research facility, it bid its master goodbye, and left without another word.

Thirteen then opened a portal, summoning Zed to come to her aid.

Seeing his Master in her succubus form made Zed smirk, but this soon disappeared after seeing Zia’s cold stare.

“Carry me, and fly as fast as you can towards the North,” Zia ordered. “Hurry, while we still have time.”

Her awakening was still underway, but she was delaying it purposely because once she awakened, she would be immobile for a period of time.

She didn’t know how long she would be in that state, and she didn’t want Lucan to catch her while she was defenseless.

Zia originally wanted to return to the Order of the Apocalypse, but this would cancel her awakening.

Because of this, she decided to take a gamble because it might be the key to lift the restrictions on her body!

Zed carried the young lady in his arms before flying upwards, breaking through the several layers of the facility until they were soaring in the sky.

The commotion didn’t go unnoticed and the Azothralls, and the Artemians, all took action.

The two golden Azothralls transformed, and added wings on their bodies.

They then flew after Zed, who was flying as fast as it could.

But, to his surprise, the Golden Azothralls were slowly starting to close the distance between them.

The young lady wanted to help, but she was starting to feel drowsy due to the effects of her bloodline awakening.

‘This… might be bad,’ Zia thought because she could no longer fight off the drowsiness that she was feeling.

A minute later, she finally fell into deep sleep, with her body pulsing in a golden light, similar to a heartbeat.

“This is bad,” Zed glanced behind him, and saw the two Golden Azothralls closing the gap.

The Demihuman Roc was very confident in his speed, and this was also the reason why Zia decided to ask him to help her.

Rocky wouldn’t be able to fight off the Azothralls underground, which was why she decided to ask Zed to help her escape.

Unfortunately, she, and the Zed didn’t expect that the Golden Azothralls had evolved to the point where they could fly extremely fast.

‘If this keeps up, they’ll catch up to me in two minutes.’ Zed gritted his teeth in frustration.

He already noticed that his Master was in deep sleep, so he couldn’t ask for his help in the matter.

High above the Celestial Realm…

Deus Ex Machina frowned after seeing Thirteen’s current condition.

“Not good, she may be able to break my restrictions if this continues!” The System God didn’t hesitate to break some rules, and descended from the Celestial Realm in order to retrieve the black sheep of his family, and seal him forever.

Right now, the Laplace Demon, and The One, was unable to prevent any outside interference from going to Pangea, and Solterra.

The walls that protected the world were extremely thin, and were very easy to break through.

When the Laplace Demon, and The One noticed what was happening, it was already too late to do anything because the System God had now appeared in the stratosphere of Pangea.

But, before Deus Ex Machina could descend fully, someone appeared in his path, forcing him to stop.

“You…” th System God eyed the creature, who dared to block his way.

“Yes, Me.” a chuckle escaped the Monkey King’s lips as he chugged the wine on his gourd. “Fancy meeting you here, System God.”

“Fancy meeting me here?” the System God snorted. “Get out of the way, Wukong. This is not your business.”

“All business regarding Thirteen is monkey business, making it my business,” Sun Wukong replied. “We’re family, you know? The two of us are probably more family than you’ll ever be to him.”

“Nonsense.” The System God summoned his staff. “I’ll ask you one last time. Get out of the way, while I’m still asking nicely.”

“How about… no?” Sun Wukong sneered before summoning his staff, Ruyi Jingu Bang. “You’re not getting past me, old man.”

Deus Ex Machina narrowed his eyes as countless simulations, and computations passed through his system core.

“It seems that I need to teach you some manners,’ the System God said coldly. “That way, you will understand that you are not a match for me.”

“Hmm… now, where did I hear that line before?” Sun Wukong pondered. “Ah… right. Some arrogant person said the same thing back then, but he realized how wrong he was after I gave him a good beating.”

“I guess I’ll have to give you a good beating then.” The System God raised his staff, and countless golden portals around him.

Countless legendary weapons from age long gone, appeared, and ready to strike down his enemies.

“Ah… the System’s Weapon Vault.” Sun Wukong nodded. “Thirteen once told me about it, but I never really liked using any weapon aside from my partner.”

The System God ignored the Monkey King’s ramblings, and pointed his finger at Sun Wukong’s direction.

Countless weapons shot out like missiles towards the Monkey King, who grinned evilly before taking a fighting stance.

“Break all the walls that stand before me!” Sun Wukong roared. “Ruyi Jingu Bang!”

Seconds later, a powerful explosion erupted above the heavens, which heralded a fight between a God, and the Great Sage, who many deemed as Heaven’s Equal.
