Half an hour later, Derek, Vincent, and Penny also woke up and joined everyone for breakfast.
Derek had a wide smile on his face, which wouldn’t disappear no matter what.
Just last night, he was still an innocent young man. Now that the sun had risen, he had finally climbed the steps of adulthood, making him feel smug.
Roland was seated beside Princess Laventia, eating calmly. However, he sensed something, prompting him to glance in Vincent’s and Penny’s direction.
The two lady-killers were looking at Princess Laventia, who now looked like a flower in full bloom after shedding her innocence several hours ago.
Roland frowned before moving his chair closer to the princess, using his body to shield her from the stares of the two guys.
The young man even glared at Vincent and Penny as if telling them, “What are you two looking at?”
Instead of feeling intimidated, the two teenagers only smirked and gave Roland a thumbs up.
Princess Laventia, who seemed to have understood what her Hero had done, blushed as she lowered her head.
A warm feeling spread in her chest. Roland’s action made her feel safe and protected.
Although her face was still beet-red, she nudged his arm gently under the table.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Princess Laventia whispered, though the soft curve of her lips betrayed how happy she was. “I’m not interested in them.”
“Good,” Roland replied simply. However, his fierce gaze remained locked on Vincent and Penny, who were looking at him with amused smiles on their faces.
Derek, still in his smug daze, finally caught on to the silent exchange and turned his attention to the princess.
A knowing grin spread across his face as he leaned forward to whisper something to his Master, Zion.
“Looks like I wasn’t the only one who had a good night, Master,” Derek whispered.
“Just eat your food, and stop smiling like a dimwit,” Thirteen replied. “You make me look bad.”
Although he had just been berated, the swordsman was in an excellent mood, so he simply chuckled before going back to eating.
Roland’s overprotectiveness didn’t escape Thirteen’s, Princess Xynalia’s, Vincent’s, and Penny’s gazes.
Clearly, Roland was now more aware of Princess Laventia and must’ve felt a little jealous when the two handsome guys intently stared at her.
If this had happened a day ago, he wouldn’t have batted an eye.
But now, it was different.
She was his first experience, and he was her first man.
The two of them shared a special connection.
This was also the reason why Roland felt uncomfortable when the two womanizers were staring at the beautiful princess, whom he had made love to the night before.
Vincent winked at Roland. “Relax, Roland. We’re just admiring Princess Laventia. It’s not like she’s your property, right?”
Penny nodded. “It’s not like the two of you are engaged. We’re just admiring how beautiful she is, that’s all.”
Little did Roland know, Vincent and Penny were simply testing the waters to see if the young man cared about Princess Laventia.
They were masters of love, so they were giving him a nudge to be more honest with his feelings.
However, Roland didn’t catch on to their intention—that they were trying to help him get closer to the princess.
He even thought that the two were eyeing Princess Laventia, intending to invite her to their room so they could have a taste of the succubus princess.
“Stop looking at her before I gouge your eyes out,” Roland warned.
“Hah.. Fine.” Vincent, who didn’t want to escalate things any further, decided to back down.
Penny also nodded. Seeing Roland’s overprotectiveness and jealousy, they were sure that he didn’t want any other guys to look at Princess Laventia.
Thirteen and Princess Xynalia, on the other hand, exchanged a knowing glance with each other.
It was very obvious that Roland now cared about the princess. As the receiving end, Princess Laventia noticed it too, so her cheeks had become a shade redder.
After breakfast ended, the group once again separated from each other.
Princess Laventia and Roland went to the garden to take a stroll.
Vincent and Penny dragged Derek with them to teach him a few points about being with the ladies.
Thirteen and Princess Xynalia also moved to the third floor of the residence and sat on a balcony, overlooking the city of Velmusa.
“Can you guys stay here for one more night?” Princess Xynalia asked. “My sister is very happy right now, so if possible, I’d like to extend her happiness for even just one more day.”
“Okay.” Thirteen nodded.
Since Nautilus would also take one more day before it arrived at the location Thirteen had intended it to stay, he didn’t mind agreeing to Princess Xynalia’s request. After all, it wouldn’t be fruitless—a mere one more night of sleeping here would solidify their alliance with the Velmoria Kingdom.
Lastly, a part of him was satisfied with the current development between Princess Laventia and Roland.
Roland loved Shana and had been secretly pursuing her.
But since she was now Thirteen’s fiancee, the teenage boy didn’t want the Hero to keep on pining for his significant other.
This was why he was very supportive of letting the Hero and the succubus princess develop their feelings for each other.
That way, Roland could let go of his first love and pursue Princess Laventia seriously.
For him, it didn’t really matter if the succubus princess was a Jinn, and Roland was a Wanderer.
There had been many cases where love bloomed between these two warring factions, and some of them had happy endings.
Since his end game plan was to let both Jinns and Wanderers form a harmonious relationship in the Cygni Continent, Roland’s and Princess Laventia’s union would help spark the possibility of making it happen.
“Zion, I just want to know one thing,” Princess Xynalia asked. “Will we become enemies once more after the Azothralls have been dealt with?”
“Do you want us to continue being enemies?” Thirteen asked back.
“I don’t want to become your enemy.”
“The feeling is mutual, Princess.”
Princess Xynalia sighed. “However, what I feel and what the other leaders feel are very different things. I’m certain they will not be satisfied with the current status quo and will urge everyone to resume war against the Wanderers once the Azothralls are dealt with.
“There is also the matter of the last remaining gates that are yet to open. You understand, right? Since they are not opening right now, it means that whatever is behind those gates is strong… very strong.”
Thirteen nodded. “Indeed. Whatever might appear behind those gates might break the status quo. If it is only against the Jinns, I can still do something about it. But if it is a different faction, like the Azothralls, things will become very messy.
“However, remember this, Princess. I don’t want you guys as my enemy. Since the Velmoria Kingdom has always remained neutral, you guys should just sit this one out. I am the Supreme Strategist of the Alliance, so as long as I don’t declare you guys as our enemy, humanity will not treat you as enemies.”
Princess Xynalia sighed in relief because she really didn’t want to become enemies with Zion.
Her instinct was telling her that even if the Jinn were to win this war, they would pay a heavy price for it.
Something that she and her sister wouldn’t want to bear.
“Also, about what happened last night…” Princess Xynalia stared long and hard at the teenage boy, who was looking at the city instead of her. “What did you do to us?”
“I gave you girls what you wanted,” Thirteen replied casually.
“That’s not what I wanted.” Princess Xynalia pouted.
“That’s not what I wanted either.” Thirteen sighed. “But I was forced to do that because you girls were trying to take off my clothes.”
Princess Xynalia sighed. “You followed us into the room, so I thought that you had accepted our invitation.”
“I followed you because I thought that you wanted to talk about something important,” Thirteen answered.
“Hah… I pity your lovers.” Princess Xynalia shook her head. “You’re a bit dense.”
“I hear that all the time,” Thirteen smiled faintly.
While Thirteen and Princess Xynalia shifted their topic about the upcoming battle with the Azothralls, Roland and Princess Laventia entered a gazebo in the garden.
In a place where no one was looking, the two shared a kiss.
Both felt their hearts beating wildly inside their chest, as if they were doing something forbidden.
Roland didn’t know why he was feeling this way, but he had to admit that he didn’t want anyone else to kiss the young lady, who had shared a memorable night with him.
The two kissed, kissed, and kissed some more, until they panted for breath.
“What kind of spell did you use against me, Laventia?” Roland said softly as he pulled the princess into his embrace. “I can’t bear to part with you now.”
“I didn’t use any spell,” Princess Laventia replied. “But I feel the same way that you do. I don’t want anyone to touch me aside from you.”
Hearing her words, Roland’s gaze softened, wishing to kiss her once more. But he held back and simply hugged her tightly.
Right now, he was feeling confused.
Princess Laventia admitted that she had fallen in love with him at first sight.
Roland had no feelings towards the princess until yesterday night.
But now, he couldn’t bear to part from her.
He even felt jealous when he saw Vincent and Penny staring at the princess.
Roland didn’t know if what he was feeling was love or it was simply the side effect of tasting the forbidden fruit for the first time.
“Can you stay for one more night?” Princess Laventia asked. “I promise that after that, I will no longer bother you again.”
Roland didn’t know what to say after hearing her request.
But to better understand himself, he still nodded, agreeing to the princess’ request before planting another kiss on her sweet, seductive lips.
