Chapter 156 Time to Kill a God
Long Tian's eyes locked onto the towering castle in the distance, his demeanor unyielding, devoid of fear or hesitation.
"I wonder if the fallen mentioned by the six-armed man is the God of Death," he muttered, his voice carrying a blend of curiosity and determination.
Without wasting another moment, the ground beneath his feet splintered, and he surged forward, a relentless force headed for the grand palace.
---
Meanwhile, in another location...
Stab!
The sound of metal meeting flesh echoed through the air as the final sword thrust impaled the chest of a middle-aged man. His long, dark hair, now tainted with crimson hues, framed a face contorted in disbelief.
"I-impossible... I am the strongest..." his voice trailed off, dissipating into the ether along with his evaporating body.
"Pant! Pant!" Lei Guang gasped for air, his body collapsing onto the ground, utterly drained after the grueling battle.
The middle-aged man was no ordinary dark soul; his strength was unparalleled, nearly claiming Lei Guang's life in the process.
For over an hour, they clashed fiercely, and finally, he emerged victorious, though barely.
"If a mere skirmish with that man nearly cost me my life, how formidable must the fallen be, as the six-armed man mentioned?" he pondered, his tone grave and breathless.
The middle-aged man had proven to be the most daunting adversary he had ever faced. His insubstantial, shadowy darkness form rendered conventional attacks useless, leaving darkness as the only viable weapon.
Luckily, Lei Guang wielded the Darkblade, the one advantage that tipped the scales in his favor.
---
Lei Guang rested for more than ten minutes. Now sitting, his breathing had returned to normal, and his wounds were slowly healing.
He stood up, his eyes fixed on the red crystal on the ground, where the middle-aged man had fallen.
Approaching it, he picked up the crystal and examined it. Without hesitation, he tightly gripped the crystal until a "Crack!" sounded, indicating its destruction.
His expression remained devoid of any emotions. He had encountered such crystals several times before, each granting him increased power.
But this time, he furrowed his brow because the crystal had no effect.
He opened his hand, causing the crushed red crystal to levitate on its own.
It turned into a substantial amount of dust that obscured his view. The next moment, his eyes widened as he saw the magnificent castle far from his location.
"What in the world just happened? Did the crystal dust unveil the castle?" he murmured, his tone laced with surprise.
If the crystal failed to empower him, it meant that the crystal had dispelled some illusion, obstructing his view of the palace.
His expression grew more intense, tinged with curiosity. "Could that be the dwelling of the fallen? Fascinating. It undoubtedly harbors immense power," he remarked, a smirk etching his face.
Unconsciously, he retrieved the Darkblade from his spatial ring. Darkness from its blade enshrouded his form, swiftly mending his wounds.
"Let's go there!" his voice and the eerie resonance from the darkness melded into one.
With that, he surged towards the imposing castle, his determination unwavering.
------------
Meanwhile, Long Tian stood not far from the colossal castle. From this vantage point, the castle loomed larger than life, a structure unmatched by any earthly creation.
"I just need to go inside," he said, his voice firm and resolute.
Yet, as he prepared to take his first step, the ground quaked violently, threatening to unbalance him.
Before him, a colossal darkness materialized, shaping into the form of a man towering over 50 meters. With sharp, massive fangs, a round face crowning a robust yet hefty body, and wielding a gargantuan mace, the figure emerged like a nightmare incarnate.
Long Tian arched an eyebrow, his voice laced with a mix of amusement and disbelief, "An Orc? Has this world descended into fantasy?" he scoffed, his confidence unshaken.
Despite the immense size of the dark orc, Long Tian's demeanor remained undaunted. He had vanquished ten giants of similar stature during the six-armed man's trials.
The orc fixed its malevolent gaze upon him, its voice thunderous and monstrous, "You shall not enter!"
In response, Long Tian's lips curled into a self-assured smile, his eyes glinting with confidence. "Let's put my power to the test," he declared, his tone steady and unyielding.
The next moment, the formidable shadow of Shen Long materialized behind him, its size eclipsing even the colossal orc before them.
Long Tian extended his arms, causing the tattoos on both his arms to transform into fierce black dragons, their eyes glowing with menacing intensity.
"Let's end this," he declared, his voice cutting through the tension in the air.
The two dragons roared in response, their primal cries echoing across the battlefield as they soared towards the dark orc, their scales glinting with a deadly sheen.
The colossal orc swung its massive mace with surprising speed, the air hissing with each ferocious strike. Yet, when it connected with one of the black dragons, the dragon coiled its sinuous body around the mace, followed swiftly by the other dragon. Together, they rendered the orc completely powerless, the colossal mace trapped within the vice-like grip of their serpentine forms.
"Raaaargh!" The orc roared, its fury echoing across the battleground. It attempted to pull its mace back, muscles straining, tendons bulging, but it was futile; the coils of the two dragons were unyielding, their strength unmatched.
Meanwhile, Long Tian, still grounded, chose his moment to strike. His dark armor emitted an even more intense aura of darkness, a tangible manifestation of his growing power. With unmatched agility, he leaped high into the air, soaring within ten meters in front of the orc's exposed abdomen.
His fists clenched, and darkness roiled, enveloping his arms like a shroud of doom. "Let's see how strong this attack is," he grinned, his voice laced with grim determination.
In a swift, calculated motion, he thrust forward, and a colossal dark fist materialized, striking the orc's abdomen with a resounding "Thump!" The impact was bone-crushing, the sheer force causing the orc to gasp in pain, forcing it to stagger back several paces under the sheer impact of the dark punch.
Long Tian didn't relent, his movements fluid and relentless. With an effortless grace, he levitated higher into the air, arriving near the giant mace still entwined by the two black dragons.
His hand gripped the mace's handle, and darkness instantly cloaked its entire surface, imbued with an almost sentient malevolence.
"Now, take this!" he declared, his voice ringing out with unyielding conviction.
With the combined might of darkness and the two dragons, the colossal mace hurtled forward, a deadly projectile aimed at the orc's head.
Bang!
A thunderous explosion reverberated, shaking the very ground beneath them. The orc, caught off guard, collapsed to the ground; its colossal body sent shockwaves through the earth, stirring up a whirlwind of dust and debris.
Yet, Long Tian's onslaught was far from over. The two black dragons, now reinvigorated, flew to his sides, their eyes ablaze with dark fury. He held onto both of them, his grip unyielding, infusing them with the malevolent power of darkness.
"Now, burn him!" he commanded, his voice slicing through the air like a blade.
With that, the two dragons unleashed torrents of black flames, a searing inferno that engulfed the orc in a whirlwind of blistering heat and roaring darkness.
Long Tian watched this with a chilling satisfaction, his eyes glinting with the icy resolve of a predator. The orc's defiant roars turned to desperate screams, drowned out by the relentless onslaught of the black flames.
The two dragons ceased their fiery assault, revealing the orc's massive form still burning. However, it gradually evaporated into darkness and disappeared entirely within seconds.
Long Tian's grin stretched wider, a macabre display of satisfaction.
The two dragons, once majestic creatures, seamlessly melded back into the inked patterns adorning his arms. With a graceful descent, he landed squarely on the remnants of the colossal orc.
A red crystal lay on the ground, identical to the one when he killed the mysterious man in the blood pool.
He picked it up, and without hesitation, he tightly gripped the crystal until a "Crack!" sounded, signifying its destruction.
He opened his palm again, making the crystal's dust float toward the grand castle.
Some sort of illusion seemed to vanish due to the crystal dust, unveiling four entrances on various sides of the castle.
Dark wings, ethereal and foreboding, sprouted from Long Tian's back once more. "Time to kill a god!" he declared, flying straight toward one of the entrances.
---
In another corner of the castle's vast expanse, Lei Guang came to an abrupt halt, his eyes narrowing at the sight of the colossal entrance that had materialized before him.
"What in the underworld? Is the castle itself beckoning me inside? Fine by me. I won't squander this golden opportunity," he sneered, his grin predatory.
Without a moment's hesitation, he propelled himself forward, hurtling toward the entrance with unmatched speed and determination.
