Chapter 1399: 'A Gift'

The person with a cat mask appeared in front of them after scouting the area ahead.

He whispered to Noel, which made him look serious.

Noel hurriedly stood up and shouted, "Get ready for battle! We're about to reach the headquarters of the Supreme Devil Organization. It seems they have left us a present."

"!!!" Oscar raised his eyebrows. The rest of the officers seemed to have stood up.

"There are approximately one thousand demons in front of us. There is no ancient demon in sight, but there are several superior demons," informed Noel.

Oscar waved his hand. "Get off the trucks. Demon Spear Squad. Take the vanguard."

"Understood. Demon Spear Squad, Gather!" Drente shouted out loud while moving forward. He grabbed the huge glaive on his back while observing the movement in their front. They were still in the middle of the woods, so forming the formation would be hard.

Yet the Demon Spear Squad seemed to be able to form just fine, shifting their positions slightly to match the surroundings.

"Incredible."

"Amazing."

The soldiers from the Ardagan family were impressed by their speed. It was as if each individual knew what to do.

The Demon Extermination Squad might not look fancy, but Shale had assembled his squad on their left. The Demon Relief Squad was moving to the rear, with the Zero Squad taking the lead.

"!!!" Noel and Oscar were the first two that could sense the demons approaching them. Although they were still at a distance, they should arrive at their location in less than two minutes.

Noel commanded out loud, "Howard, Grandel. Take care of the side and spread out. Work together with the Demon Spear Squad. Incetta, bring your squad to work together with the Demon Extermination Squad."

"Understood." The three of them acknowledged the order.

Howard led 50 men to the left, while Grandel took another 50 men to the right. They spread out their men to stop the incoming demons.

Meanwhile, Incetta moved to Shale, which slightly surprised him. After all, Shale could sense that Incetta was extremely strong. She might even be stronger than Clara already, approaching his level… And he was already close to finding his transcendent path.

Once the demons came into their sight, Drente hurriedly moved forward and shouted, "Get ready! Just like always, we pierce through any obstacles in our path!"

"Oohh!" The knights replied in unison and stepped forward. They moved slightly ahead, as they were the ones in charge of taking the full brunt of the demon's momentum.

"Incoming!" Drente shouted and raised his glaive. He waved it forward, unleashing a massive amount of spiritual energy that burst upon coming into contact with the demons.

The demons in the front were kicked up into the air, slowing down their momentum. Then, Drente personally led the Demon Spear Squad to clash with the demons.

In almost an instant, the demon's momentum actually stopped.

Since the front was blocked, the demons tried to move to the side and loop around them, but Grandel and Howard pushed forward with their soldiers spread out, creating a small envelopment to contain the demons inside.

Although they were not as strong as the Demon Spear Squad or had as much impact as them, they managed to contain the demons.

Once it stopped, Shale took out his sword while glancing at Incetta. "Demon Extermination Squad Captain, Shale."

"Ardagan family's Head of Navy, Incetta."

"Follow me. We'll hit them from the left and exterminate them. I hope that your people can keep up with the strongest sword of the Demon Banner Army."

Incetta harrumphed. "In that case, we'll leisurely fight behind you."

"In that case, I will take the charge." Shale took a deep breath before shouting, "Demon Extermination Squad! It's time to hunt!"

Most of them suddenly had a grin on their face as they ran forward. Incetta hurriedly followed with the 50 people on her back. They looped around and hit the demons from the left side.

Shale waved his sword once, and the wind coming from that sword split up and killed several demons in an instant.

Shale smiled as if he was satisfied with his performance. He felt he was at his peak.

To his surprise, the moment he glanced to the right, he saw Incetta slash the enemy with a sword, unleashing a water wave that split multiple enemies at once. Then that sword turned into a spear, allowing her to charge forward, destroying everything in her path.

Even though she said she would leisurely fight behind him, it felt like Incetta was planning to make herself the main event.

It was probably because of Incetta's beautiful face and the way she carried herself, but her soldiers actually charged with an intensity surpassing even the Demon Extermination Squad. They pierced through the enemy and even caught up with the Demon Extermination Squad.

Not wanting to lose, Shale increased his power output even more. However, the main star of this show had been decided before the battle even began.

None of the people who were fighting were the main star. The real attack was none other than Felicia.

Felicia raised her wand while shouting, "Rune Magician Squad! We'll provide a cover fire, starting from the right."

"Ohh!"

With Felicia leading them, they created multiple Meteor Runes. Her squad only consisted of 20 people. Even the cat-masked person had 30 people under his command for scouting.

However, each of these 20 people contained the most power among the five squads.

Even though ten of them couldn't use the mid-level rune, the Meteor Rune, they still used a low-level rune version of the Meteor Rune to bombard the enemy.

Multiple explosions hit the battlefield, blasting so many demons in one go.

"Oh…" Oscar looked surprised. In just a single attack, the squad could actually kill 200 demons.
