Supreme Harem God System

Chapter 2078: We need to think of something else.

’Lord Nux.’

As Nux was talking with Sharnoth, one of his subordinates called.

’What is it?’

Nux questioned, recalling where he had placed this one.

’The Supreme Worlds have acted.’

The subordinate informed.

’What?’

Nux’s expression changed.

“What happened?”

Sharnoth questioned, instantly noticing Nux’s change.

“The Supreme Worlds, what did they do?”

Nux questioned with a grim look on his face.

“Hmm?”

Sharnoth frowned.

She hadn’t received any reports related to the matter. Just as she was about to summon her subordinate to look into the matter—

Knock Knock

She heard a knock.

“Lady Sharnoth, the Supreme World of Darkness has released an official statement.”

Varys informed.

It was disrespectful, especially considering that Sharnoth hadn’t allowed him to speak yet, but considering the situation, Sharnoth did not say anything. She knew she needed to give priority to the important things first.

“Come in.”

She ordered.

Varys walked in. There wasn’t any look of concern on his face, so Sharnoth could tell the statement wasn’t against her, but because Nux said what he said, she was curious to know what had happened.

“What did they say?”

She questioned.

“They want all the Mercenary Worlds to compile a report regarding every being who took the Umbrasol Mission ever since it became public. They want the report to be given manually by the Leaders of the Mercenary Companies to make sure there aren’t any dishonesties.”

Varys informed.

Clearly, this wasn’t related to them, so he didn’t seem particularly worried.

“Dishonesties? Who would dare lie to them?”

Sharnoth did not understand.

“No one, but this matter seems more important than it looks. It has been a long while since all Four Supreme Worlds have come together and released a statement.”

Varys gave his own opinion as he handed the scroll where the official statement was copied to Sharnoth.

“What…?”

Sharnoth’s expression changed.

“All four Supreme Worlds released a collective statement?”

She was surprised and rightfully so.

After all, this has never happened before, at least not when she was alive. The records of such a thing happening went back billions of years.

“Yes, people speculate this is related to the recent Universal Rumbling.”

The Universal Rumbling was no longer a foreign concept now. It began a few thousand years ago, and while there was a small break in between, it had restarted recently.

Honestly, by now, all the worlds have gotten so used to it that they have prepared defensive measures against it. Artifacts and Relics that stabilized worlds have gotten quite popular in the Lower Level Worlds because of this, and High Level Worlds like Khaemorr were never worried about it in the first place.

This time, however, things were different.

“This one was much stronger than the others before. Even the High Level Worlds were affected. I have a hunch that the two matters are related.”

Varys theorized.

Sharnoth nodded at his words. This indeed made sense.

She turned back towards Nux, who heard Varys’s report as well. Not just that, he also had all his subordinates planted all over the Universe telling him the same thing.

The Mercenary Worlds were in chaos. The World Leaders have already begun compiling reports. After all, the deadline given to them was a day, and they all knew what would happen if they failed to deliver what was required.

Some of the Low Level Mercenary Worlds who were far from the designated location where the Supreme Worlds had summoned them to, were forced to take loans and hire services of high-speed travel companies who have already sensed their chance and started their marketing campaigns.

Yes, with just one statement, the Supreme Worlds have spread chaos and panic throughout the entirety of the Universe.

That was the absurd level of power they held.

’This isn’t good.’

Riona spoke with a solemn look on her face.

The rest of the women nodded. Nux too, glanced at Sharnoth and,

“I will talk to you later.”

He spoke with a solemn look on his face, and seeing his expression, Sharnoth did not stop him either.

To ease her nerves, Nux smiled at her as he then pointed at the recording orb he had given to her and,

“Don’t forget to check that. I am sure you will enjoy it.”

He chuckled.

“I will.”

Sharnoth smiled back as she nodded at him lightly. Nux nodded back, and as the call ended, Nux’s smile faded.

“Do you think the Fortune’s Call will be able to hide it?”

Nux questioned.

Fortune’s Call was the mercenary guild from where they took the Umbrasol Mission.

Honestly, he already knew the answer to his own question, but he still wanted to hear their words.

And just as he expected—

“No.”

Amaya answered honestly.

“Only about six thousand years have passed. We were expecting the Veil to last a few more thousand years. The Leaders at the Fortune’s Call will still be the same, and they will remember everything clearly.

It would have been fine if the Supreme Worlds thought that no one would dare to lie to them and simply ordered a report instead of asking the leaders to come themselves.

They must have set up a few relics to make sure that they catch the liars. All the Mercenary Worlds and guilds, including Fortune’s Call, would have thought of that.

In front of those artifacts, they would not give a false report, even if ’a woman from one of the Supreme Worlds’ told them to.”

The Devourer explained.

“So…”

“We will get caught.”

Amaya declared.

“They will know that the last one to take the Umbrasol Mission was a man named Nux Leander, and because of how popular the name Leander Family has become due to our actions, the connection between Nux Leander and the Leander Family will be made.

Even if it was only a coincidence, the Supreme Worlds will take this chance and try and remove the Leander Family, thinking the Anomaly is amongst them.

And of course, once we resist them, the Leander Family will be declared as public enemies and…

Vexarion will go back on his word.”

“…”

Nux’s expression turned solemn.

The only reason Vexarion agreed to face Sharnoth was because he specifically told them that the Leander Family wasn’t foolish enough to go against the Supreme Worlds.

But what if it was known that the Leander Family was indeed foolish enough to do that?

He would realize that he was lied to. From that trail of thought, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to predict that Nux was actually planning to betray him and… he would refuse to fight Sharnoth.

Nux clenched his fists in anger.

“We went too far.”

He muttered.

“We shouldn’t have used our name.”

He was now regretting it.

“It wasn’t our fault.

The timing was just that unlucky.

All we needed was a symbol of fear.

If this had happened before the Leander Family name became popular, it wouldn’t have been a problem since we could have used another name.

If this had happened a few days after, it wouldn’t be a problem either, since Vexarion would already be dead and we would once again be able to change our identities.

Out of all the times the Reaper’s Veil could have vanished,

It happened exactly at the moment when it wasn’t supposed to happen.”

Felberta sighed.

“It is like Fate is playing a cruel game with us.”

Aeliana laughed self-deprecatingly.

Nux sighed as well.

He was frustrated. He wanted to help Sharnoth, but it seemed this was no longer possible.

“How much time do we have?”

Suddenly, Aisha questioned. The Succubus did not wish to give up.

“One day.”

Amaya answered.

“Can’t we do something then?”

“Like what?”

“What if Nux teleports Sharnoth to Aurendor, right in front of Vexarion when he is not on his guard? If we get a strong attack in, it shouldn’t be difficult to take him on with Nux and Sharnoth working together, no?”

The Succubus suggested.

It was an idea worth considering. At least, that was what the women believed.

But—

“It won’t work.”

Nux shook his head.

“There is a reason Vexarion is alive even though Sharnoth is stronger than him.”

“Aurendor’s Will…”

Aeliana realized it.

Nux nodded.

“Sensing the enemy, Aurendor’s Will will severely weaken Sharnoth and strengthen Vexarion. The difference will be so big that once the two deploy their domains, instead of crushing each other, Vexarion’s domain would overpower Sharnoth’s.

She would lose.”

This was also the reason Nux went this far to convince Vexarion. If they wanted to defeat him, they needed to pull him out of the shell he was hiding in.

There was no other way.

“…why didn’t the Aurendor’s Will weaken you then?”

Suddenly, Ember asked a question.

“Hmm?”

“You went to Aurendor to attack him as well, didn’t you? You didn’t feel any difference in strength.”

“That is obvious. It happened because—”

Before Nux could complete his words, he realized what the Dragon was implying.

“You want me to devour her.”

“Aurendor’s Will wouldn’t be able to weaken her then, would it?”

“It won’t.”

Nux shook his head.

“But it would still be able to strengthen Vexarion.

It won’t work.”

Nux’s face then turned solemn and—

“We need to think of something else.”
