Chapter 623: Chapter 617: It’s said to be very useful

The recently recovered Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin didn’t hesitate to draw their weapons, “Whoa, whoa, calm down, calm down. What’s happening? Can we all just chill out a bit?” A somewhat frivolous voice echoed, as a roughly thirty-year old man, attired in an elegant trench coat, parted the crowds and walked in.

As he spoke, his hands were raised to show that he was unarmed. He then continued, “Gentlemen, let’s all cool off. Put your weapons down, everyone.”

Neither side seemed to heed his words. The party on the other side seemed ready to put down their weapons, but seeing Finn and Dunn holding still, naturally, they were not about to disarm either.

“Gentlemen, do you mind discussing what conflict brought us here?” The man standing in the middle turned to face Finn and his companions, smiling as he spoke.

“Let me guess, you guys are heroes playing rescuers? All for this woman?” This man pointed at the woman who had fallen to the ground without waiting for Finn’s response, and smiled gracefully; although his smile was affable, Finn could see the disdain and contempt in his eyes.

“You’re wrong. I didn’t do it for her. Someone just wanted to cause unnecessary trouble for me.” Finn replied with a cold smirk.

“Oh, what kind of trouble?” the man asked Finn, cocking his head with an amused expression.

“Have him come over here and lick it clean.” Finn extended his leg and pointed to the spit on his foot.

“Oh, and who might that be?” the man asked, still grinning at Finn.

“There.” Finn pointed at the man groaning on the ground and spoke. The suave man glanced at the one Finn pointed out, then nodded, “I see. I am a man of principles. A very reasonable guy.”

With these words, the man suddenly spun his right hand, produced a pistol from somewhere and shot the groaning man on the ground.

With a puff, a streak of blue light flashed, and the man’s head exploded like a watermelon. A charred smell emanated from his now lifeless body.

Finn’s expression remained unchanged. Even though the man’s actions were unexpected, the shocks Finn had witnessed were far too numerous for such a scene to intimidate him.

“Now, the man who offended you has apologized, so I suppose you no longer need him to clean the dirt off you, right?” The man’s face still carried a faint smile, as if he had just crushed an ant underfoot.

Finn’s usually expressionless face cracked a small smile. He moved forward two steps, extended his left leg, and leisurely wiped off the dirt on his foot against the now-dead man’s body. Only then did he look up and ask indifferently, “And then? What do you want to say?”

A glint of surprise passed through the man’s eyes. Clearly, Finn’s response was entirely unexpected. But none of that mattered, did it?

“And then? Now that my business here is done, aren’t you, sir, supposed to compensate us for our losses? Like the time you’ve wasted? Or the hefty fines we are going to face due to this commotion? And also, the possible damage to our organization’s reputation?” The man calmly faced Finn and spoke.

“Oh, how do you plan on settling this?”

“10 million, or you could commit suicide as an apology? I could leave your body intact.” The man responded coolly.

“Hehe, what if I choose neither?” Finn chuckled subtly.

“You’re free to choose neither, as long as you believe that you can survive here. You’re new to Death Star, aren’t you? Maybe you’re not familiar with the rules here.” The man’s smile was still plastered to his face, but his eyes had grown icy. This combined with his smile gave him an eerie appearance.

“I understand this place just fine. In simple terms, it’s survival of the fittest. To be even plainer, whoever has the biggest fists determines the truth.” Finn replied nonchalantly.

“Haha, exactly. Do you think you’ve got the upper hand now?” The man watched Finn with an odd expression. “Let me remind you, you have no idea how many of our guys are around you. You surely don’t think you could dodge all of their attacks, do you?”

“Oh, I surely can’t. And I wasn’t planning on causing any trouble. But since trouble came my way, I’d like to try something. I heard this thing is quite useful. I wonder if that’s true or not.” As Finn spoke, he reached into his pocket and pulled out two dark violet spherical objects, playfully tossing them in his hand.

Upon seeing the objects in Finn’s hand, the man initially maintained his cool composure. But once he realized what those objects actually were, his face changed instantly, and he almost cursed out loud. He knew very well what they were: Nuclear Explosion Grenades.

The man tasted a sense of bitterness at the thought of their devastating power. If the grenades were detonated, everything in a few hundred meters radius would be wiped out. Just like the name implied, they weren’t a joke. They weren’t real nuclear bombs, but if the size got big enough, they could match a nuclear detonation. Although nuclear weapons were rarely used, for some insignificant blast missions, they were pretty handy, cheap and efficient.

Though the power of these grenades increased with their size, the ones in Finn’s hands were sufficient to blow up several hundred meters. The man didn’t think he could sprint several hundred meters in the split seconds. He wondered how a man in such ragged clothes could possess such expensive weapons.

“Shall we give it a try?” Seeing his silence, Finn added another sentence with a smirk. Then he slightly twisted the dark violet sphere in his hand. It began to radiate a glow and turned bright purple.

Seeing this, everyone’s face lost color. Those who stood further were okay, but those around Finn knew all too well what those spheres were. With the activation of the grenades, they realized that Finn could set off the explosives with a slight squeeze.
