Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 779 - 779: The Building's Identity?“All right. We’ll begin our dive today. I expect the best from each of you. Whether you are a summoner or a knight, I expect you to do your duty and not lose any focus for the next two hours. Get ready to react to everything unexpected that we’ll encounter today.” Lena shouted.
“Yes, Ma’am!”
Once she got their response, Lena jumped while saying, “Let’s go!”
All of them started diving again, with Amphitrite gently pushing them down to speed up the descent. Thanks to the previous exploration, they had opened up their path so all of them could go down not far from the building.
It only took them fifteen minutes before they reached their previous location.
“Anything unusual?” Lena asked.
Nathan glanced at Fenrir, who shook his head, so he replied, “There’s none.”
“In that case, we’ll proceed according to our plan. If it’s possible, conserve your ena. We might use them to forcefully row the boat to escape.”
After giving one last warning, she turned around and waved her hand.
Two sirens started to play their harps. The smooth and soothing melody affected the aliens’ consciousness, allowing the party to advance a bit closer to the ruins.
As expected from the black cell, they were the first ones to wake up and alerted the aliens.
“!!!” The aliens raised their heads, panicking. They all turned in the same direction, finding the group of humans trying to enter the ruins.
Without hesitation, all of them rushed toward the group while letting out their original voice so as to inform the other aliens.
“They’re coming.”
David released his ena while saying, “Please go on, Commander. We’ll hold back these aliens for you. Don’t waste your ena here.”
Lena nodded and started to speed up. “Let’s go, you two!”
Nathan and Levy followed Lena closely, leaving behind the five summoners.
Selena said, “Let’s do this, shall we? Can you find the whale remains for Nathan?”
Amphitrite harrumphed. “Although the fish can’t get closer, I have been doing that since yesterday. There are five spots believed to have the whale remains. We’ll check them all.”
Selena smiled. “In that case, we’ll need to hurry. We don’t know how long this peace will last.”
Amphitrite nodded as both of them separated themselves from the group.
Meanwhile, Nathan, Levy, and Lena had finally entered the ruin.
The moment they reached the entrance, Levy reported, “There’s no engraving on the building yet.”
That was right. One of the easiest ways to differentiate between a building made by humans and one made by aliens was the engraving. Most of the time, the humans would engrave something on the wall, whether it was a story they wanted to tell or something else.
Since they couldn’t find anything else yet, Lena turned her head to the stairs leading deeper into the underground.
“There’s no absurd movement yet. It seems their voices can’t reach the aliens within the building. If we’re careful and don’t make a lot of noises, we probably can sneak into the building pretty far,” Fenrir explained.
Lena nodded. She had summoned two of her familiars as well, while Levy only had one familiar to protect her. They couldn’t infiltrate with a large number, so each of them just summoned the familiars that would most likely help them in an unknown situation. Of course, Fenrir would be the last, considering he was the biggest.
The stairs themselves had the shape of a spiral. As they went deeper, the room expanded in size. The size alone could be comparable to a small store, capable of hosting fifteen to twenty people easily.
As expected, there were aliens underneath this place. However, there was one thing Nathan had never encountered before. The aliens actually stayed put even when they entered the building. Normally, they would have picked up on their presence and noticed them, but this time, there was close to no response.
Lena and the others hadn’t made any noises yet. They exchanged looks, realizing that they had never encountered something like this before.
Lena thought for a moment before making a gesture, telling Nathan and Levy to watch her.
Lena carefully approached the first alien. Just like earlier, the alien had yet to pick up on her presence, even though she was already right in front of it.
Curious, Lena examined the alien a bit.
‘This is weird. The alien appears in a suspended state. The aliens never sleep, so there’s no way they don’t notice me.
‘Something is wrong. Should I kill it? If I kill it, I might have to use my ena to avoid the blood from spilling, which can alert other aliens.
‘In that case, should I just continue forward without doing anything? They’re still proto-class aliens. Even though they can do something, they aren’t capable of stopping me. This way, it also decreases the chance of them noticing us.’
After making a decision, Lena turned around and waved down.
Nathan and Levy hesitated for a second but ultimately climbed down the stairs. They didn’t know what was going on, so they just had to observe Lena for the time being.
Of course, Nathan had to glance at Anubis or Fenrir, wondering if they noticed something.
Fenrir only shook his head, while Anubis couldn’t help but use his bandage to deliver his message instead of talking.
The bandage didn’t seem to have any fluctuation of ena, so even the aliens shouldn’t notice it.
Anubis’ action seemed to be noticed by Lena, who immediately came back as if she wanted to warn him.
However, Anubis started with a big bomb.
His bandage started swirling, creating character after character to create a few words.
And they said, “Something is wrong with the tower. This place doesn’t seem to be made by aliens. Instead, it must be made by humans.
“They’re making the aliens fall into a state of unconsciousness. This kind of power is similar to what I have seen before… for eternal slumber.
“But after seeing their condition, it seems to be a lesser one. Instead of eternal slumber, it’s more like sealing the aliens.”
