Chapter 605

When the dust settled down, countless demon corpses could be seen in the city, along with human corpses that were unfortunate enough to cross the demon’s path. Dio has done his best to end Hell’s invasion, and he already spent thousands of his Souls that he collected to overwrite the Serpentine Door’s existence on earth.

Although this Hell Invasion was kind of thwarted rather quickly, it was something traumatizing to the entire humankind! So many people died that the world was shocked to see the actual number, plus they also saw the demon for themselves! Hong Kong that was severely damaged by Mephisto’s attack would surely take a considerable amount of time to recover, along with a considerable amount of money and resources to fix!

“What’s on your mind right now?” Dio asked as he saw Robbie sitting on the rubble alone.

“Did we really know each other before? Are we really friends with each other?” Robbie asked confusedly.

“Well, we haven’t known each other that long, but yes! I consider we are friends, and you still owe me a favour!” Dio nodded with a smile on his face.

“Sorry, I really don’t remember anything, but I believe you don’t have any reason to lie to me. So I will just take your word for it. Considering this thing I owe you, what do I have to do in return?” Robbie asked curiously.

“You don’t have to do anything for now. Did you have any plan after this?” Dio asked. But Robbie just stared to the horizon as he didn’t have anything to do right now, nor that he knows what he needed to do. He still lamented his action for destroying the Sanctuary. Although it wasn’t his fault as he was only deceived by Mephisto, it didn’t change that everything happened because of his doing!

He couldn’t even atone for his sin as the Spirit of Vengeance made him incapable of dying. Instead, he would be just sent to Hell and be reborn again. What was the point of killing himself if it would only result in slowly losing himself and became a puppet to Mephisto? His only choice right now was to live on, doing anything he could to destroy Mephisto’s plan to conquer the earth!

He knew he didn’t have enough power to defeat Mephisto in battle, but he believed that he could come up with a way to destroy Mephisto’s plan in the future!

“If you don’t have anything to do right now, I think you should atone with a different approach. I know that you are just tricked by Mephisto, but what you had done is all irreversible! You still have a responsibility to atone for it!” Dio said casually.

“You are right about that, but what can I do? I couldn’t, or better yet, I shouldn’t die, for Mephisto would only make me his puppet again if I do!” Robbie asked sincerely.

“It’s not important what you want to do now. What’s important is whether you do it or not! There are still a lot of demons out there. So, the best thing you can do is probably send those demons back to Hell or destroy them as it would ensure safety on earth!” Dio said solemnly.

“You are right. I am the one that allowed them to come here in the first place, so it’d make sense for me to judge and condemn them back to Hell!” Robbie said determinedly.

“Great! You seem to get your motivation back. Now, to prevent the same thing from repeating again, I need to know what happened in Hell to you and where is Duke?” Dio asked curiously.

Robbie nodded and told Dio everything that happened in Hell with a complicated look on his face. After listening to Robbie’s story, Dio couldn’t help but raised his eyebrows. He didn’t expect to hear such a twisted plot coming from Robbie, but he knew it was nothing surprising as Robbie was in Hell!

“So, your new Spirit of Vengeance is originally an angel?” Dio said to himself as he learned something new. He didn’t expect that the Spirit of Vengeance was a god’s creation, not the demon’s!

“Although the new Spirit of Vengeance is stronger and can even withstand the Sun, allowing me to transform to Ghost Rider whether it was night or day, it’s stronger than me too, making it even harder to control it. I have a tough time keeping my consciousness intact when the Spirit of Vengeance is in control!” Robbie said with a frown on his face. He knew that once his consciousness faded away because he was no longer able to control the Spirit of Vengeance, he would be devoured, and disaster would strike the earth once again!

Dio nodded his head as he just got a new information from Robbie that he had never known in his past life. He knew that God did exist in Marvel Universe, and he knows that God wasn’t necessarily good. The so-called Heaven was just another dimension in Marvel Universe, just like Hell right now. He didn’t know whether the Angels that symbolized the fair and beauty would side with the Human once a multidimensional war broke out on earth.

He knew that Robbie’s problem had to be solved as he was now the only one who had a connection with both Hell and Heaven. Robbie was now a ticking time bomb as it wasn’t clear what Spirit of Vengeance’s true goal was. The best solution probably was to erase Robbie and Spirit of Vengeance from existence, but Dio didn’t want to do that as he thought it was unnecessary!

He might get a lot of Souls from erasing the Spirit of Vengeance, but he didn’t need it right now. So, after thinking about things that he needed to do, he got a temporary solution for Robbie’s problem. “Come with me for now! I will think of a way to get back the memories you lost to Mephisto and check your physical condition. I will also devise a plan to stop your Spirit of Vengeance from rampaging in the future!” Dio said solemnly.

Robbie wanted to decline, but after thinking about it for a while, he nodded. He didn’t know whether Dio could really help him, but it didn’t matter right now. After all, he couldn’t help himself either!
