Lily walked through a street in the capital where the people had already run away. She heard the heavy march of the knights headed her way, but she didn’t stop walking.

Soon, she took a turn and saw the over hundred knights armed and ready to attack. As soon as they laid eyes on her, they all pulled their weapons and waited for their captain to give the order.

She wasn’t hiding her aura this time, so they were able to instantly tell that she was one of the enemies.

“Identify yourself now, or we will have no choice but to kill you,” the captain yelled, pointing his sword at her.

“You can’t kill me. It was never a choice for you. You have no choice. You lost that the moment you set your eyes on me,” Lily said. Her words confused the captain, and he raised his brow under his helmet.

“Did you not hear what I said? Identify yourself, or we will have no choice but to kill you. You are not human, and that probably means you are one of the attackers. Is that true?” the captain asked.

“You really talk a lot for someone that is at war, you know,” Lily said.

“Enough of this. Take her down!” the captain ordered, and about five knights rushed toward her, their swords drawn, ready to kill her.

But as soon as they got within five meters of her, the five men suddenly froze. Their bodies trembled like they had seen a ghost. Their swords fell from their hands to the ground, and their eyes held genuine fear.

The captain looked at what was happening and was confused. Why did his men stop? “What the hell are you doing? I said take her out!” he yelled at them, but as he did, what followed next made his heart quiver in fear.

The heads of the men suddenly exploded, spraying blood and brain matter in all directions. The five bodies fell to the ground with a loud thud.

The knights watching this were filled with fright. What had they just witnessed?

“You see, when you come within an effective range of a powerful person, your kind is able to tell that you are in genuine danger, and it will freeze you up.

“Just now, I made that effective range five meters. That means when they stood within five meters of me, I could kill them in an instant, just like I did.

“Now, don’t get me wrong. This doesn’t mean I have a five-meter effective range. No, my effective range is a whole lot bigger than that, and at least you all are now within that effective range,” Lily said.

As they heard her, they all suddenly felt the fear that the five had felt—all of them, aside from the captain. He turned around and watched as his men trembled in fear.

“You bloody bastard!” he roared and charged at Lily, but then a sudden popping sound made him stop. He turned around and saw that one of his knights had been killed, his head popping.

After that, the others followed, their heads popping one by one right in front of him. The captain watched in horror as this happened.

Each of his men died right before his eyes, and he was incapable of doing anything. After a while, all of them had died, their headless bodies littering the floor, creating a gruesome sight.

The captain fell to his knees, quivering in sadness and rage, his eyes red with anger. He gripped his sword so tight it started bruising his palm.

“What you are feeling now is fear, anger, and sadness. And the fact that you are unable to change any of it makes you feel more enraged. You wish you could somehow drive a blade through my heart,” Lily said and walked behind him.

“What you are feeling is the definition of war, where there is no mercy for any man. But then again, you are a knight. Will you allow the enemy to walk away right now?” she asked and then walked past him without looking back.

The captain seemed heavily conflicted as he heard her steps get farther and farther away. If he let her go to spare his own life, he would have betrayed his friends that stood beside him here to fight.

Coming to this conclusion, he forced himself to stand. He gripped his sword with both hands and then charged toward Lily with a loud cry, not attempting to be quiet at all.

He slashed at her diagonally. He poured his mana and all his strength into that slash, making the sword travel faster and have stronger cutting power.

His sword was just about to hit when suddenly Lily spoke. “Right choice,” she said, and suddenly it was like everything froze. Then, she vanished.

The man was shocked. The frozen state ended, and his sword traveled through the empty air where she stood. He immediately tried to turn around, but he felt her hand touch his back.

He froze when he felt her hand. His body immediately started trembling with fear. Was this the end for him? Was this where his story ended?

“You did your best, and you proved to be a real knight. So now you can die with your pride,” Lily said, and then she drove her hand through his back, shattering his spinal cord, grabbing his organs, and forcefully pulling them out.

The captain’s blood pumped out from both his back and his mouth. He fell to the ground, dead. Lily took a look at the organs and parts in her hand. She let them drop to the ground with a splat, and then, with water magic, she washed her hand clean.

She continued her way deeper into the town, leaving behind a hundred bodies. She looked up at the sky and saw Silva flying toward the castle. She had seen when he blocked a large beam of golden light, so she was sure he was trying to take out whoever did that.
