Chapter 734: Chapter 674 Plane Plunder_2

“You’re quite impressive. Why don’t you come with me for a walk as well?”

Kerke seemed interested in the respectful attitude of the Deputy Commander and casually made the suggestion as if casting his lot.

This caused Shanfri’s expression to freeze, and after much deliberation, he had no choice but to reluctantly agree.

Kerke paid no heed to their changing expressions. Taking charge instead, he instructed the City Guard around them and then led them down from the city wall, heading directly into the depths of West Pole City.

Cultural differences naturally lead to different architectural styles, and West Pole City had its own unique features.

Walking all the way down, Lord Kerke changed his previous serious demeanor and engaged in casual chatting with the two, discussing the customs and practices of West Pole City.

“Are you two also from the Yellow Armor Clan?”

“Reporting to Lord, we all are, but we’re not from the main lineage.”

“So you’re not favored, no wonder you weren’t drafted away but left here as cannon fodder.”

The three walked at a steady pace, but before they had covered even half the distance to the city’s center, Kerke posed another question, making the two’s recently settled hearts tense once more.

Was that facade finally dropped?

“No need to be nervous, I just said it casually, no other intentions.” Kerke waved his hand warmly, indicating they need not be too serious.

At this point, how could Bart and Shanfri not be nervous? The person beside them was actually an aggressive foreign demon. If not for the fact that even all the City Guards combined were not contenders, they would have struck by now.

The reason the two were playing along with this demon was mainly to buy time; delaying it in this manner was just another way to do so.

“Is the shrine right in the center?”

“Yes.”

Just as Shanfri spoke, the surrounding scenery started to shift and blur. When they came back to their senses, the grandiose shrine they had just mentioned appeared right before them.

This speed was unimaginable.

Both of them were inwardly tumultuous, filled with horror and dread.

“Extreme Heaven Blessing Breaking Calamity Divine Venerable? That old turtle put on such a decent act, but alas, he made a grave mistake and at the most critical moment, he abandoned you and hid away without a hint of responsibility.”

Kerke stepped into the shrine, followed passively by the other two at his sides.

Hearing his blasphemous words directed at the deity, Bart and Shanfri felt as though they were being tossed by a tempest, unable to find peace.

“Demon! Kill or torture as you see fit, but don’t dishonor the Breaking Calamity God with lies!” Bart’s patience finally wore thin, and he pulled out his sheathed sword again.

“You know the Four Directions Ancestor, right? She said something similar before, and now she’s no more.” Kerke remarked in a tranquil tone.

“I’ll fight you to the death.” Under the divine statue’s gaze, Bart and Shanfri seemed to regain their senses and finally drew their weapons against the foreign demon before them.

Their swords and blades swung down with full force, but before they could reach the demon, they stopped 30 centimeters away, unable to advance further.

Under the shroud of a wicked brilliance, their fleshy bodies began to undergo earth-shattering changes, though these changes had started within them much earlier, only to be overlooked due to external interference.

Amidst the interference, they had unwittingly revealed many things they originally didn’t want to disclose.

Trembling continuously, they dropped their swords to the ground with a clang and unwillingly knelt before the demon they loathed so intensely.

“Demon! You won’t die a good death! Roar!” They struggled with all their might, blood mixed with sweat quickly dripping down.

“What’s the point? Alright, alright, you both accompanied this sorcerer all this way, which is some sort of fate. I won’t make things difficult for you.”

Seeing their state of distress, Colt found the situation mundane and with a casual wave, sent the two out of the shrine, where they immediately fell unconscious upon landing outside.

Colt’s form shifted and reverted to his original appearance—it was Ivan.

As a True King Wizard, his speed was the swiftest. Therefore, he arrived in this West Pole City ahead of others and entered the shrine dedicated to the Breaking Calamity God Turtle.

This time, to wait for the best counterattack opportunity, the high-end forces of the Extreme Beast Plane had completely withdrawn, leaving the sorcerers’ side practically unguarded.

“Is it heartlessness, or do they understand the sorcerer’s ways so well and think we won’t engage in meaningless slaughter?”

“Let’s hope you haven’t truly hidden everything, or else we sorcerers will unleash our wrath.”

Standing before the statue of the Breaking Calamity God Turtle, Ivan murmured coldly. He didn’t mind biding his time with enemies, as long as there was something to capture his interest.

This was their first attempt at such an endeavor, with little experience but a very clear goal.

Training resources?

It’s not underestimating the Extreme Beast Plane, but compared to the affluent Danaila, this place was impoverished; training resources certainly weren’t the primary goal.

The life and soul of living beings?

Sorcerers aren’t genuine foreign demons. Although they possess the means to strip life and souls from countless beings, they never developed such vile habits.

Their goal was simple—knowledge.

The Extreme Beast Plane is a plane entirely different from Danaila. Over aeons, it has nurtured a unique civilization, characterized by unique heritages, including their training systems.

The lifetime pursuit of all sorcerers is truth and knowledge.

In the eyes of sorcerers, the knowledge and civilization developed here are treasures, and they were unanimously settled on as targets through negotiation.

Ultimately, the Extreme Beast Plane is too barren; there are very few things worth seizing.

If the enmity between both sides wasn’t as deep as the sea, the sorcerers certainly wouldn’t want to break in and engage in such a laborious and unrewarding effort.

“Consider yourselves fortunate.”

Ivan went further behind the main hall, where a vast library appeared before his eyes, books and scrolls neatly arranged on row after row of shelves.

Upon entering the library, an invisible force immediately emanated from him, enveloping the nearby shelves in an instant.

Many books flew from the shelves, opening themselves under the invisible force, their pages turning one after another, amassing a vast amount of knowledge into his mind.

While Ivan was immersed in the ocean of knowledge, the main strike force of the sorcerers descended upon the land, their weapons pointed directly at various cities.

Some, like Ivan, had quietly infiltrated the depths of cities to collect all kinds of knowledge and rare items that had not been taken away, while others directly engaged in conflict with the inhabitants of the Extreme Beast Plane.

The entire land fell into chaos.

At the same time.

In a certain hidden space, countless figures were gathered, their expressions particularly heavy, unwilling to speak for a long time. These were none other than the group led by the Breaking Calamity God Turtle, who had abandoned the countless beings outside and chosen to avoid confrontation.

“It’s only temporary.”

“I know.”

The pair of ice and fire phoenixes and the Breaking Calamity God Turtle found a small space to speak alone, the former gazing at the latter with worry. If it weren’t for their strong persuasion, the Breaking Calamity God Turtle wouldn’t have chosen to temporarily avoid the fray.

Even though they succeeded in persuading him, there was no peace within their mind, which needed to be reassured.

“From what I know about those sorcerers, they won’t and dare not act recklessly. After a while, they will either leave on their own, or it’ll be time for us to launch a desperate counterattack.”

“I know.”

“We’ve even left behind our training methods; their goals have been achieved. If that’s not enough for them, we will have nothing to say, and by then, we will deal with it as it comes.”

“I just fear those sorcerers won’t take a fancy to our training methods.”

With a willingness to gamble, the pair had abandoned their vast fortunes to buy time until the best moment for a counterattack, as long as the sorcerers didn’t find them.

They weren’t too confident about that, and the Breaking Calamity God Turtle felt the same.
