SORCERER: I WANT TO BE AN ACADEMIC PRODIGY
Chapter 543 03-25 - 541 Secrets of QingqiChapter 543: Chapter 541 Secrets of Qingqi
In the Danaila World, the higher the tier of a creature, the more difficulty it often faced in reproducing offspring—that was a rather common rule, and now that Ivan was an Arcane Wizard, his efficiency in propagating was undoubtedly low.
Compared to the previous total lack of opportunity, however, this was a significant improvement; he was not in a hurry and mainly adopted a laissez-faire approach.
Time swiftly passed, and a month went by. It was rare for Ivan to immerse himself in the beauty for such an extended period, almost feeling an indolent pleasure beyond desire for the return. However, there was one issue that concerned him, so one day he called for Dan Lin alone.
“Sorcerer Ivan, just me alone?”
Dan Lin entered the meditation room and, seeing no one else, murmured shyly and timidly.
The Qingqi people were already renowned in the sorcerer world for their beauty, and Dan Lin was among the top of them. Over the years, she had shed her girlish naivety and matured into a young woman of grace and poise, radiating a gentle quality like that of water.
…
Among the four women, her appearance was the most outstanding.
“Yes, come here and lie down,” Ivan instructed directly.
“Mhm.” Although Dan Lin felt something odd in his tone, she did not suspect anything, stepping lightly forward and obediently lying down on the couch with her supple form.
“Close your eyes,” Ivan added.
“Alright.” Dan Lin did as told, closing her eyes—her delicate cheeks tensed up in nervousness.
Ivan looked somewhat indifferent as he breathed out toward the lovely person on the couch. A faint mist seeped over her face, and in the next moment, Dan Lin fell into a deep sleep, her tensed expression completely relaxed.

Just as Hotter had once mentioned, the entire Qingqi people did indeed have a serious issue, and it was related to the Extreme Beast Plane.
In short, the Qingqi people were spies planted by the powers of the Extreme Beast Plane long ago to collect information on all aspects of the sorcerer world, and this had been confirmed. It had been dealt with a few years prior.
Qingqi people like Dan Lin, who relied on powerful beings, were no exception, but their situation was often much better and handled by those they relied on.
At this very moment, Ivan was preparing to eliminate this hidden danger.
He could not allow his woman to be manipulated by others.
“Star Soul Hand.”
He concentrated his soul, and a thin tendril glimmering with faint red lights appeared, the thread-like whisker penetrating Dan Lin’s head without resistance.
Dan Lin’s delicate body trembled, her eyes suddenly flew open—within them was only white, no black, fixated on him.
“Trying to revolt, are you?”
Watching this eerie scene, Ivan simply smiled faintly.
The whisker writhed continuously as if it was surrounding something. Dan Lin sensed the danger and attempted to lash out in defiance, but then another whisker landed on her head, rendering her powerless to move once again.
Within seconds, the two whiskers had pulled out a bundle of gray-black energy.
“Roar!”
The gray-black energy twisted violently, and within it was visible a sinister fox silhouette—according to legends, a particular breed of the Extreme Beast Plane, the Qingqi Devious Fox.
Of course, this was clearly not the true body of a Qingqi Devious Fox but something like a puppet’s heart, albeit far more sophisticated.
Ivan also possessed the Sacrificial Heart; naturally, this kind of trick was no challenge for him, easily crushable within his grasp.
“Sorcerer Ivan, how could you bear to harm me?”
Seeing that it couldn’t struggle free, the fox silhouette morphed into Dan Lin’s image, even taking the form of her younger self. At a glance, one might believe it was Dan Lin’s very soul.
“How tedious. If this is all the tricks you have, then there’s no need to keep you for research.”
After a thorough observation and feeling unimpressed, Ivan did not wait for it to employ any other tricks and caused it to dissolve in the pale red light, without causing the slightest ripple.
Looking at Dan Lin again, her complexion had paled somewhat, and this time she truly fell asleep.
She slept straight through three days and nights. When Dan Lin awoke, she remembered nothing about what had happened before. All she could recall was lying down on the couch and then, without knowing what transpired, she had fallen into a blissful slumber.
Upon hearing her explanation, Justine and the other two couldn’t help but reveal mischievous smiles, teasing her for her overestimation of herself, which made Dan Lin so embarrassed she wished the ground would swallow her up.
At the same time, the other three secretly made up their minds that they would never face Sorcerer Ivan alone in the future. They would have to bring others along, to avoid hilariously embarrassing situations like Dan Lin’s and later becoming the butt of others’ jokes.
Elsewhere,
Ivan received a summons from President Hardy and leisurely made his way to the seven-storied sorcerer tower located towards the eastern side of the city. Upon arriving at the tower’s reception hall, he discovered he was the first person to reach.
“Ivan.”
“Good morning, Wizard Philomena.”
He didn’t have to wait long, soon another arrived; it was none other than the City Lord of East Capital.
Both being arcane wizards, they naturally addressed each other as equals now, but in terms of status, they both were still half a step below the Great Sage, Hardy.
“It’s hardly morning now.”
“Is it?”
“Sorcerer Ivan, the charms of beauty can lead one astray. I recall you weren’t such a man before.”
Philomena, being the City Lord of East Capital, was informed of every little movement within the city, and she had swiftly noticed Ivan’s recent idleness.
“Not such a man?”
Feigning ignorance to her jest, Ivan chose to play dumb.
“A man who covets beauty,” Philomena clearly had no intention of letting him off easily.
“That’s called knowing when to relax. Moreover, this wizard is not some ascetic monk,” Ivan argued.
“That’s true,” Philomena agreed with a nod, her tone shifting, “how about I send you some beauties?”
“Only the finest can catch this wizard’s eye,” Ivan retorted.
“How about Dorothy?”
Philomena seemed intent on her generosity, even offering her own chief steward, Dorothy.
Regardless of whether her words were true or not, Ivan did not accept. After all, he was not a man truly greedy for beauty, nor did he fancy being gifted women.
Philomena didn’t mind; the two of them continued to chat without much rhyme or reason, never straying from the topic of women and the pursuit of beauty.
If outsiders were to witness this scene, they would surely be shocked.
“What a mood you two are in, discussing such profound matters within my sorcerer tower.”
A moment later, Hardy Charosi walked in with a dark expression, having clearly overheard their conversation.
Not far behind him was another arcane wizard, the visibly bemused Fioqi. The two had returned from outside and had hurried back on their journey.
“Ahem, the Great Sage is back, we’ve only just arrived,” Ivan mumbled.
“Yes, yes, we just started talking,” Philomena quickly added.
Caught in the act, the two of them tried to change the subject to cover their embarrassment.
“Enough, enough, I didn’t summon you here for idle chitchat,” Hardy waved his hand dismissively.
“Right, right, the matter at hand is of more importance. How did your investigation go?” Ivan and Philomena hastily concurred, their gazes involuntarily turning to Fioqi at the side.
Facing their stares, Fioqi appeared somewhat disheartened.
