“Guild Master, we aren’t dreaming right now, are we?”

“Don’t ask me that. I feel like I’m about to faint,” replied Ali Hassan.

Ali, the guild master of the Imphal Guild, and his men stood in shocked silence, having watched the entire battle unfold from a distance. Until now, they had been focused on rescuing kidnapped slum residents as instructed by Suho and Liu, staying far from the battlefield. However, the sheer scale of the battle made it impossible not to witness the events from afar.

If this is a dream, I probably just had a lifetime’s worth of nightmares in one go, Ali thought, swallowing hard.

If he was dreaming, he was having a nightmare unlike any other. An army of winged dragonkin had appeared, darkening the skies. Siddharth Bachchan, India’s revered hero, had transformed into a monster. The massive axe he wielded split the city in two. But the most surprising thing of all…

Sung Suho.

Indeed, to the members of the Imphal Guild, the South Korean hunter had been the biggest revelation.

Who exactly is that man?

I’ve never heard of a hunter like him from South Korea.

Even Liu Zhigang, the six-star hunter from China, defers to him.

He’s absurdly strong! Where did someone like him even come from?

The true shock, though, had set in after the battle. From the corpse of Siddharth Bachchan, a shadow rose up, defying death and reanimating!

“My god!”

“H-holy…”

Ali and his guild members sank to the ground, their legs giving out beneath them.

Up until now, they had guessed that Suho might be a necromancer, having seen the countless shadow soldiers that followed him. However, witnessing Siddharth Bachchan—India’s hero, who had just demonstrated his overwhelming power—being revived as a soldier of the dead was astounding to a completely different degree.

“G-Guild Master!”

“What’s going on here?!”

“What do we do now?”

“Maybe… Maybe we’ve seen too much.”

Desperation and confusion painted the faces of the Imphal Guild members as they looked to Ali for guidance.

It was the urgency of situations like these that really allowed Ali’s leadership to shine. At that moment, his survival instincts, honed from a lifetime in the slums, kicked in, and he made an immediate decision. Yes, there’s onlyone option here! ℞AΝȫʙΕš

“You idiots! What makes you think I’m the guild master?”

“Wh-what?”

“What do you mean, sir…?”

“Snap out of it! Our guild master is standing right over there!”

Ali’s declaration left everyone stunned. The guild members gaped as they followed his finger directly to the hunter Sung Suho.

Reprimanding his guild members for their ignorance, Ali boldly proclaimed, “From now on, we’re part of the Woojin Guild! I will be taking no questions!”

It wasn’t a joke—Ali Hassan was deadly serious.

The Imphal Guild is already done for, he thought. It’s only a matter of time before the entire world finds out what happened here today. And when they do, who will they blame? The Asura Guild? Asura’s guild master was dead, and the guild itself was all but wiped out as of today. What would be the point of cursing a guild that no longer existed?

Matters were seldom that simple, however. Given the magnitude of the incident, someone is going to have to take the blame.

The dizziness in Ali’s head worsened as he thought about the precarious position of the Imphal Guild. Even his guild’s name could drag them into the spotlight. Depending on what we do next, we’ll either face backlash—or rise to prominence.

Ali clenched his fists, his survival instincts screaming at him, telling him what needed to be done.

“The Imphal Guild is no more,” he declared. “From the beginning, we were subordinates of Guild Master Sung Suho!”

Shock rippled through the guild members.

“So, from now on…” Ali’s eyes glinted sharply as he ordered, “We’re going after Manu Kijal, the man who sided with Siddharth and orchestrated all of this! We will handle that loose end ourselves and prove our worth to Suho. Do you understand?”

“Y-yes!”

“Then spread out and get to work!”

Under Ali’s stern command, the Imphal Guild members scattered to search for Manu.

***

The search didn’t take long.

“We found Manu Kijal!”

The governor had tried to escape the city as soon as things went south. He had been crossing the Chinese border when the Imphal Guild intercepted him.

Pale and trembling, Manu scrambled for excuses. “I-I’m a victim in all of this! I only did what I was told so I could stay alive!”

“You’re the governor! You can’t abandon your own city!”

“Who says I ran away? I was… I was just going to get help!”

“Oh? Is that why you were crossing into China, to ask an entirely different country for help with your city? Looks more like you were seeking asylum before our government could pin the blame on you.”

“P-please! Spare me! I swear, I’m innocent!”

Tears streaming down his face, Manu clasped his hands together, unable to form a coherent argument. Ali grabbed him by the collar, glaring. “Governor. Listen carefully. There’s only one reason we’re keeping you alive right now. You’re going to expose every crime you committed with the Asura Guild.”

“N-no! Please! Anything but that! If I did that… Wait! I can help! I’ll make your guild the biggest in the city!”

Manu desperately pulled the best bargaining chip he had. He knew well that Ali was from the slums. Money and station were something that was sure to tempt this man, given the low place he had started from.

Manu’s desperate bargaining struck a nerve, but not in the way he hoped. Ali smirked, both irritated and amused at the governor’s attempts. “It’s too late. We are no longer the Imphal Guild. We belong to the Woojin Guild, led by Sung Suho.”

Manu flinched in shock.

This wasn’t actually true yet, of course, but Ali had a plan. He would win favor with Suho by utilizing Manu.

“Who is Sung Suho?” he continued. “He is the strongest hunter in South Korea. He’s the man who killed Siddharth.”

The Woojin Guild already included Liu from China as well as Rio from India. At this rate, they were more of a global guild than a Korean one.

“So Governor, you’ll have a lot to do for us from now on. If you refuse, I’ll drag you into a dungeon and end you myself.”

“Ah…”

Manu flinched again, his head hanging low as Ali’s malice overwhelmed him. Never once had he expected this from a guild he had written off as small and inconsequential.

It was only a matter of time until the incident became known throughout the world. China would begin spreading the news first, since Manu had already attempted to cross into the country.

China had already been watching Imphal carefully because of the mere fact that Liu was here. The city was right at the border, and it had just split in two. There had even been dragonkin filling the sky. There was no way that the people in China hadn’t noticed yet.

Like it or not, this information was already spreading across the world at an incredibly fast pace. Time was of the essence.

“Manu, as the governor of Imphal, you must inform the Indian government of everything that happened here,” Ali ordered.

“Wh-what do you want me to say?” Manu stammered.

“Tell them that the Woojin Guild of South Korea saved India.”

Siddharth Bachchan was dead, and so was his name. From now on, Sung Suho would be the hero of India.

***

Whatever was happening in the background didn’t matter to Suho. He was focused on the most important task at hand: closing the void dungeon, the dimensional rift that had appeared in this land.

To achieve this, he had to clear the nearby dungeons that the Asura Guild had monopolized. Only then could he retrieve the Star Fragment necklaces from the necks of the citizens living here, ending their entranced states caused by the Church of the Outer Gods.

I need to hurry. In a place like this, he wouldn’t have been surprised to see another follower of the Itarim show up. Fortunately, turning Siddharth Bachchan—the mastermind behind all this—into a shadow soldier had streamlined the process.

“Sita, lead me to where the Star Fragments are made,” Suho said.

“Understood.”

At Suho’s command, Sita unfurled his wings and bowed his head without protest.

As if it were the most natural thing in the world, Suho grabbed him by the horns and stepped onto his head to climb onto his back. Such a thing would have been a massive humiliation for Siddharth Bachchan during his life. However, he was now Sita, and to Sita, it was an honor beyond compare.

“Let me ride too!”

“Grrrr…”

This honor did not apply to everyone, of course.

Sita growled and gritted his teeth, unable to complain as Esil brazenly followed Suho and jumped onto his back. In the next moment, Liu and Rio did the same.

“I’ll come with you as well,” Liu said.

“Suho! Me too!” Rio cried.

Sita growled again, low and guttural.

Suho leaned closer to Sita, pressing his head against his. “What was that?”

“M-my apologies,” he stammered, becoming polite once more.

Even if he had been under the spell of the Outer Gods, Sita knew of the weight of the atrocities he had committed. Countless lives had been taken, not only those of the dragonkin who were part of the legion, but also those of subjects who had never been transformed. For this, he would have to pay for the rest of eternity.

As expected, the factory producing the demons’ Star Fragments was hidden inside a dungeon.

The moment they stepped inside, Esil revealed her presence without holding back.

“Kneel, demons!”

The lesser demons who had been laboring for Siddharth Bachchan froze in wide-eyed shock as the demon noble suddenly appeared before them.

“I am Esil, the eldest daughter of the Radiru Clan, and the one and only demon noble still in existence!”

Overwhelmed by Esil’s commanding presence, the demons cried out in submission without a single word of defiance, swearing obedience. None dared oppose her.

The situation was different from the demons discovered in South Korea. Esil had now recovered much of her original power, and it was far beyond what mere lesser demons could resist. Moreover, she was riding on the back of Siddharth Bachchan, the man who had enslaved them. It was a sight reminiscent of Baran, the King of Demons, who had ridden on the back of Kaisellin long ago.

“Suho, could we include these demons in your shadow world?” Esil asked.

“You’re planning to bring them to the demon realm in South Korea?”

“Yes. We need to gather all the demons into one place if we are to prepare for war against the Itarim. And this place won’t last much longer, judging from the state of it.”

Esil cast a bitter gaze toward the sky, which was riddled with severe cracks. Just like the one in Korea, this fragment was one of many that had splintered from the original demon realm and was now drifting through dimensional rifts. However, the influence of the followers of the Itarim seemed to have been far greater here, leaving the sky in an even more damaged state than in the Sanctuary of the Snow Folk.

Suho nodded. “All right. We need to get rid of all the magic beasts in here to destroy the dungeon anyway.”

Without hesitation, Suho pulled out the key to the Shadow Dungeon and began sending the demons inside one by one. He also made sure to recover the Star Fragments they had produced and the mana crystals stored as materials.

“My god. There are so many mana crystals here!” Rio exclaimed, his eyes wide. “Suho, I think this is the Asura Guild’s entire stash!”

Rio’s faith in his decision to join the Woojin Guild swelled. I knew it. I made the right choice! he thought triumphantly. We have a future full of hope. Inshallah!

The thrill of success flowed from Rio’s toes to the crown of his head. It struck him again just how monumental his decision had been. After years of struggling for promotion in the Asura Guild, he now stood as a high-ranking member of the Woojin Guild—a guild that had taken control of everything the Asura Guild once possessed.

No one could be held responsible for crimes committed in a dungeon, not even murder. Pocketing a few valuables from the inside of a dungeon? They were simply spoils of war.

“Holy cow! How much is all of this worth?”

Even Rio’s talented brain stalled at the immense calculations required. From this moment forward, Suho’s Woojin Guild was the rightful owner of the vast wealth amassed by the greatest guild in India!
