Chapter 658: Janet
Right after Xu Feng revealed his intention to obtain the coveted sponsorship from Janet, she was close to ending the meeting.
Almost everyone who came to the opening of the High Table Club had two objectives in mind. Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire
One was to establish connections with similar status, and the second was the most important one: being chosen to be sponsored.
Those who have heard or known about the High Table Club would know that each branch meant another sponsor was available. These sponsoring was limited to the city they opened the branch in to prevent anyone from trying to covet it from other cities.
Of course, that didn't mean those other cities couldn't directly make an alliance with those established in the said city of the opening branch.
In other words, the moment one was chosen, they could have been said to transform from an ordinary pigeon into a brightly lit phoenix who would soar to the sky.
"I suppose everyone wants to be chosen for sponsoring." Janet smiled lightly and was about to stand up. Without a doubt, she wanted to leave and spend her time elsewhere.
However, right as she lifted her butt slightly up from the seat, Xu Feng uttered two simple words.
"Vanguard Guild."
Startled, Janet raised an eyebrow. Her lost interest seemed to pique again upon hearing a familiar guild name that had been sending a wave of storm in the Divine World.
She sat back down and stared at Xu Feng solemnly. "You're not going to tell me you're part of that mysterious Vanguard Guild, right?"
"If not, then do you really think we came all the way here to displease you and get ourselves blacklisted?" Xu Feng chuckled in response and spread his arms.
"Any proof?" Having regained her composure, Janet demanded evidence of their ties with the Vanguard Guild.
Who couldn't spout a few nonsense and say they're related to the Vanguard Guild?
"You know about OneManMedia of the Vanguard Guild?" Xu Feng inquired.
Feeling like her knowledge was tested, Janet found it humorous as she naturally knew who he was.
Out of everyone in the Vanguard Guild, only he was the most prolific and active one.
It could be said that without him, the public still wouldn't know much of the mysterious yet seemingly powerful Vanguard Guild.
"OneManMedia, otherwise known as Wei Xing in the real world. He's in charge of streaming and constantly notifying the public of the Vanguard Guild's activity. I wouldn't be qualified to be a franchise owner if I lacked that kind of information." She commented, clearly unamused by the testing. What Xu Feng did was the equivalent of asking an adult if they knew how to solve a simple math question such as one plus one equals?
As an adult, to not know what one plus one equals to, means they have spent their entire life meaningless. Even in the Stone Age era, people knew how to count.
That was how Xu Feng's question was interpreted as such in Janet's perspective.
While she was having such thoughts, Xu Feng had already gone ahead to video call Wei Xing.
Once the call was picked up, Wei Xing's face appeared on the screen with a confused look.
"Is there something you need, Feng?" Wei Xing swallowed a mouthful of saliva and asked.
The only time he had met with Xu Feng in the real world was during the meeting when the latter was tasked by the Guild Leader. Ever since then, they hadn't had much contact.
Therefore, it wasn't unreasonable for Wei Xing to believe there was another difficult task incoming for him.
"Nothing much. It's just that I need you to vouch for me that I'm a part of the Vanguard Guild." Xu Feng explained smoothly.
"Vouch for you?" Wei Xing twitched his mouth in response.
"Yeah, I need you to prove that I'm part of the guild."
"I seeā¦"
'Who would dare to say you're not part of the guild?' Wei Xing wondered silently, feeling like whoever that person was, their brain must have been short-circuited.
Just because he revealed his face more often in public didn't mean he had a high rank within the guild. In fact, aside from the Guild Leader, there were three more people who could literally command him.
And those three were none other than Lunar Wraith, Shadow Blade, and Cool Wind.
Xu Feng as Cool Wind was only known to a few people, so Wei Xing supposed it made sense why no one would know about him in the real world.
Not to mention, Xu Feng emphasized that he only needed to vouch he was part of the guild and not his identity. This aspect was pretty clear for Wei Xing.
"Okay, you're going to be revealed in the holographic screen, so make it quick." Once the explanation was done, Xu Feng turned on the feature, allowing Janet to see Wei Xing clearly.
When Wei Xing noticed Janet, he was quickly overwhelmed by her beauty.
Nevertheless, having interacted with numerous celebrities in the past, he was able to compose himself.
"Are you Wei Xing aka OneManMedia of the Vanguard Guild?" Janet questioned.
"That is correct." Wei Xing nodded.
"Then who is the person that contacted you?" Janet had confirmed that the video call was authentic and not some pre-recorded or edited version. Thus, she knew he was the real deal, but the question came to her mind.
Just what identity and position did Xu Feng hold to be able to contact someone like Wei Xing in the snap of a finger. Wei Xing was a rather elusive person despite his numerous public appearances, given that he had practically rejected most of the people who wanted to have him in their shows.
'How did we have zero information about this individual, Xu Feng?' Janet was very dissatisfied with the intelligence network for missing out on such a critical person on their radar.
"Apologies, but I must refuse to answer that question. All I can say is that he's indeed a part of the Vanguard Guild, and someone who can order me around." Wei Xing smiled lightly, feeling zero shame in speaking of the truth.
