Chapter 1003: The Prophet

After Xu Feng gave his input and how he believed Liam would win, the two women glanced at each other doubtfully. It wasn’t that they didn’t trust him, but they simply found it hard for Liam to overturn the situation.

Even as they were talking, Liam was being blasted close to the edges of the battle stage.

Knowing that it was hopeless to convince them, Xu Feng simply turned his attention to the battle stage.

’This Liam sure knows how to endure patiently.’ He thought to himself.

There were times when an opening was exposed and could be taken advantage of, but Liam withheld his impulse. After all, the opening was exposed but the risk was quite high, making it quite a gamble to succeed.

The judges also seemed to have noticed Liam’s intention and were starting to reconsider their perspectives.

Unlike the audience who could only perceive the surface area, they failed to comprehend many in-depth meanings behind the brawl.

"That’s right, Samuel. Keep pounding that cowardly bastard!"

"Don’t let that bastard hold his head up!"

As the crowd’s enthusiasm soared to a new height, the bell rang, signaling the end of the first round.

Almost immediately, Peter intervened on the stage to prevent both fighters from continuing.

"That was the end of the first round. Very exciting, right?" Peter attempted to rile the crowd but fell somewhat flat. After all, everyone had eyes to discern that the fight was one-sided. Without a doubt, they all believed the second round would come to an end, with Samuel taking the victory.

Samuel’s face was filled with an air of confidence as he waved his hand around, much to the crowd’s enthusiasm.

"Yeah, Samuel. Get that cowardly man in the next round."

"I bet nearly my fortune on you. Don’t show any mercy!"

As the crowd shouted and cheered loudly for Samuel, the other fighter was not so lucky.

Upon walking to the rest area, Liam was cursed and blasted by many people in the audience who had placed their bets on him.

"Why are you even participating as a fighter when you’re a born turtle? I’ve lost a lot of money because of you!"

"The Farios City must really be out of shape. How could they possibly choose someone like you to represent their city?"

Facing their insults, Liam’s expression remained stoic. He simply sat down and drank a mouthful of water. His gaze hovering at his opponent, Samuel.

’Samuel’s punches and kicks were brute force condensed with Energy Force. But his lack of control and exert of force would be the key moment.’ Liam was unaffected by the external factor and kept his focus on his opponent’s weaknesses.

It didn’t matter how tough the process was. The training he conducted alone was many times worse than the audience’s curses.

Sometime later, the bell resounded on the stage, signaling for the two fighters to assume the battle stage again for the second round.

"Just like the first round, this second round would last exactly 3 minutes," Peter exclaimed loudly.

Samuel and Liam didn’t respond, but their stance alone was enough to declare their intention.

"Very well, may the second round commence!" Peter retreated to the side.

Almost immediately, Samuel once again launched himself forward and took the lead.

Liam swiftly went into his defensive form, much to the crowd’s displeasure.

Naturally, those who placed their bet on Samuel were cheering fervently and telling Liam to continue his current pace.

"Ugh, he’s defending like a turtle again." Back at the VIP Booth, Rebecca pursed her lips and frowned.

"He’s not playing the role of a turtle, but rather a predator." Xu Feng mused and leaned his chin on his palm. "His eyes have been constantly waiting for Samuel to reveal the flaw. Yet Samuel remained ignorant and still launched himself to a pit hole."

"Launched himself into a pit hole?" Stunned, Rebecca was taken aback. She was about to say something when the crowd suddenly erupted into madness.

"What the fuck!"

"Am I dreaming or is this a joke?"

How the hell did Samuel suddenly get knocked out cold!"

As the crowd descended into madness, back on the battle stage, Liam had his hand extended. His hand was formed into a fist as he had just given a fierce punch toward Samuel.

In the far distance, Samuel’s eyes were out cold, his body lying motionless on the ground.

Soon, a few medic personnel went up to check on Samuel.

After some inspection, one of them stood up and declared, "No life injuries sustained. The fighter is just out cold at the moment for having his vital point struck accurately. He will be awakening soon."

Upon receiving the news, Peter appeared to be in a daze. Although he hadn’t joined the audience in judging the fighters, he was actually secretly despising Liam’s fighting ability.

He thought Farios City was taking the city competition for a joke and sent out Liam to mess with them.

Who could have imagined this turtle-like fighter would suddenly counterattack once and that was all it needed to take to win?

"Um, is it time to announce the victor?" While everyone was struck in a daze, Liam returned to his normal stance and asked Peter.

"Ah, yes," Peter quickly snapped out of his daze and announced. "The first match between Erden City Samuel and Farios City Liam ended in a TKO, with Liam advancing to the next stage."

TKO aka total knockout was a term not used often in the city competition.

After all, a TKO meant the defeated opponent was completely outmatched and outskilled as they went out cold.

Instantly, those despairing betting audiences changed their attitude and started praising Liam.

"Haha, I knew Liam was superior."

"Turtle-like behavior? That’s just called being smart."

"Indeed, Samuel is really too flashy with no substance. It’s no wonder why he got TKO by Liam!"

While their attitude changed, the same goes for Rebecca who stared at Xu Feng as if he was a monster.

"The prophet!" She called out and was amazed by Xu Feng’s deduction.
