Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?
Chapter 1694 - 1694: Cooking—–
“Wait a second, that bird looks a lot like the bird you fought, Justicio!” Silvia said, pointing the obvious for Justicio, who had fallen silent after glancing at it. “But there’s no way a single bird made a whole tribe of people go extinct, right?”
“Y-Yeah… I hope…” Justicio said. “It can’t be that one though, or that bird would be… thousands of years old, there’s no way right?”
“Hm, it was probably just a member of the same species,” Aquarina nodded. “Well! Let’s go inside, we can talk while we are having lunch. I’m starving already.”
“Me too!” Silvia nodded. “What are we having for lunch?”
“We didn’t get to capture anything so we’re eating what I got stored,” Aquarina said. “Ah, there’s a lot of fish left, should we have grilled fish?”
“Sure!” Silvia was very happy.
“Let’s go, Justicio,” Agua said, as Justicio nodded, walking by her side. “Are you wondering what happened to the bird monster?”
“Yeah, I’m beginning to regret not having taken it down…” Said Justicio. “It was definitely a strong monster but… After I cut its beak it seems it got too scared.”
“Another monster would’ve definitely gone on a rampage, and if it is Tier 7 then it probably has a lot of magic power, right?” Silvia wondered. “But why did it flee so quickly?”
“I mean, having your beak cut off must hurt a lot,” said Aquarina. “Monsters aren’t mindless either. The ants aren’t a good example because they’re forced to give away their lives to protect the nest, so that’s why they would charge against us so angrily and mindlessly.”
“That’s right, monsters aren’t too different from animals themselves,” explained Agua. “Although I guess its hard to make a classification between what’s an animal/beast and what’s a monster. Some would say they’re all the same, but I guess it varies depending on what they are… But normally yeah, beasts are smart and know that it’s worth not to fight if they’re in a disadvantage.”
“Inside of Dungeons monsters tend to also be rather overly aggressive too,” said Aquarina. “I wonder why that’s the case?”
“I guess it could be for a lot of reasons…” Pyuku said. “But I would guess that’s how they’re programmed, think of them as not just wild beasts but more like golems. They’re given a mission and a task to do. The mission is to attack intruders to the dungeons no matter what.”
“Aaah yeah, makes a lot of sense now…” Aquarina nodded. “I guess Sylphy’s dungeon is different in that regard then, although she can indeed order the monsters inside to mindlessly charge at a foe and die… But she usually never does that, she would think it’s too cruel.”
“I would say there was a good chance it would have retaliated…” Said Silvia. “But you were lucky Justicio and it just escaped, I would say almost fifty-fifty chance it would have done or the other…”
“Indeed, pain, however, can drive living beings to panic a lot if its too strong, having their beak cut off must have been an agonizing scare,” said Pyuku. “So it ran away in confusion instead of attacking back, afraid of more of the same pain it was experiencing…”
“Hmm, I sure hope that’s the case…” Justicio sighed. “Anyway, we’re grilling fish for lunch? Will that be enough?”
“There’s also a lot of giant lobsters, crabs, and clams from our dungeon dive,” explained Aquarina. “Still fresh! Should we steam some too?”
“Sure!” Silvia nodded, beginning to droll.
“We don’t get to hate such food where we come from, so it’s quite the luxury we’re having it every day now…” Justicio laughed a bit. “Let me help you out at least.”
“But how are we steaming it?” Silvia asked.
“That’s easy,” Aquarina said, taking out a large black colored pot and then the seafood from her shadows. “We’ll put some water in here and then seal the lid, the fire will make the water boil, and steam will fill it completely. Like that the steam will cook the food without having to make it lose most of its flavor from boiling it completely under water.”
“Oooh! Sounds interesting, I wonder if it would work though?” Silvia asked.
“We’ve done it before, don’t worry,” Aquarina said, as she started working with her friends. “Oh man, I wish I could bring Esmeralda here, I bet the little girl would’ve loved it up here.”
“She was just born…” Justicio said.
“I know but she got that adventurous look in her eyes, don’t you think?” Aquarina asked, she seemed to be constantly thinking about her adorable little sister.
“Haha, I guess so! We won’t know for a while though, as Justicio said, she was just born,” Agua nodded.
“Nah but I swear she’ll do great stuff one day!” Aquarina said. “Also those tattoos on her body might be some ancient ability from my dad’s bloodline, I bet it’ll make her really strong even if she doesn’t get chosen as a hero or receives a blessing!”
“You sure love your sister, heheh,” Silvia giggled. “I’m glad Aquarina! It’s nice to think about something else rather than your girlfriend all the time!”
“W-What are you implying?!” Aquarina suddenly grew redder as she held a lobster’s claw the size of her head, pointing it at Silvia comedically. “I-I’m not thinking about Sylphy all the time…”
“Suuure…” Silvia and Justicio ended responding at the same time, glaring at Aquarina while squinting their eyes to tease her.
“E-Enough!” Aquarina grew slightly angry. “I-I think about other things too, you know? Like… Um, my parents, the village… This beautiful crater… And… well, you guys also take a lot of space inside my head as well. You think I don’t care about you or something? I-I might be a bit… weird sometimes, but I… I know that, okay? I’m not dumb…”
“A-Aquarina…” Silvia felt slightly bad. “I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to make you think that…”
“Y-Yeah! Take it easy, we were just joking, we know,” Justicio smiled, patting her muscular shoulders with his big hands.
“Hmmm…” Aquarina glared at them with slight resentment. “Maybe I won’t share these tasty clams with you two…”
“E-Eeeh? Don’t be mean!” Silvia cried.
“It’s not good to be greedy!” Justicio complained.
