'The territories of the 8 Major Tribes are spread across the Great Desert'.
'The tribe with its territory at the far end of the desert closest to human settlements outside the desert is the Jabari tribe'.
'The next tribe after the Jabari tribe is the fierce Godoka tribe, followed by the even fiercer Audun tribe. Unlike the other tribes, the Godoka and Audun tribes are notorious for their great number of Pugilists'.
'Father, are we really such powerful Pugilists?'
Altan smiled instinctively. 'Yes, we are the greatest Pugilists in the desert'.
He patted his son. 'Continue reciting'.
'Ok, after these 2 tribes is the Kong tribe which is the head tribe, it was through their first ancestor that all the major tribes rose to power centuries ago'.
'After the Kong tribe is the Shagaai tribe, then the Drago Celeste tribe which is regarded by some as the present strongest tribe of all the tribes'.
'The Drago Celeste and Kong tribes are the strongest tribes'.
'After the Drago Celeste tribe is the Freljord tribe whose territory is at the furthest end of the desert close to the ancient ruins and tombs'.
'Father, what lies beyond the great desert?'
Altan instinctively smiled again. "You'll know when you're old enough".
"Huh?" Argast asked as his raised spoon with the food on it paused.
The others paused too as they heard what Altan just said.
Ackermann scoffed. "He's reminiscing about his family again, I hate it when I have to go to missions with old men thinking about family in my squad".
Again, Altan let his tongue slip while reminiscing about his fond memories with his son. "I'm sorry, I let my tongue slip".
"You'd be better sorry telling the captain that you quit the mission".
"No need to be so rude Ackermann". Arya stood up for the oldest in their protector squad. "He's the oldest and 2nd strongest in our squad".
"Well, I'm the strongest, I don't give a damn".
"So noisy". Arnold complained with a sigh as he covered his ears with earmuffs. Ackermann glared at him but he was too lazy to bother.
This powerful young lady turned to glare at Altan again. "Next time you think about reminiscing about your family, do it in the woods!"
Clap! Clap!
Captain Aegon entered the tent where they ate as he clapped. "Get up, fast, we're summoned for the strategy meeting".
"Yes captain!"
As they left their unfinished food and followed their captain, Amak could not help but ask in a whisper. "We're already in Drago Celeste territory, a short distance to the Freljord territory, yet…, we still don't have a unified commander".
"…"
…
"My name is Captain Knock, a warrior of the Kong tribe". A young bearded man with sharp black hair and eyes spoke and addressed all the warriors.
"After discussing with my fellow captains for some time, we already came up with a viable strategy following our entrance into Freljord territory where the Titans already are".
"Our combat tactics is not complicated, just the basics to perfection".
"Rangers will scout ahead for us, protectors will stay right behind them and once there is trouble, they will jump in to help and save them".
"Since this is an emergency mission, we don't have time to fully familiarize and integrate ourselves which is why we leave each captain to his original unit".
"The captains know their units best and will be able to bring out the best in them, we don't intend to jeopardize this synergy advantage".
"The catalysts to synergize the different units will be the captains".
"Though every captain is leading his own unit, all the captains will maintain communication and would help each other with their units at all times".
"For example, units from the Audun and Godoka tribes will be our main protectors since they have the most Pugilists, everyone else will support them".
"Units with more Elementalists will stay at the back while units with more Summoners will stay at the middle and would be our anchor".
"Since it is already evening, we'll rest and continue our journey tomorrow morning, hopefully to make it on time and help the Freljord warriors".
"Before entering Titan territory, we need to have a feel of fighting against Titans and tomorrow is our best shot at it".
"That is more or less our combat strategy but…" Captain Knock's sharp black eyes gleamed. "For the strategy to work, we need a unified commander".
"…" A chill instantly descended on the atmosphere.
Captain Knock instinctively flexed his muscles. "I am a Pugilist, a major inheritor of the Berserk Ape bloodline, killer of 21 Sand Worms, I am the undisputed best of my generation".
"I think I am the best candidate to be the unified commander".
"Absolutely not!" Captain Knock barely finished before a loud voice interrupted him, a pair of deep red eyes glared at him without fear.
With a similarly red hair complimenting his eyes, this powerful and unruly warrior stood up. "Knock is a simp, he's not worthy to be the Commander".
"I, Drog Celeste, a magic Pugilist, a major inheritor of the Wan Dragon bloodline, killer of 22 Sand Worms, I should be the commander".
"I am stronger and better than Knock, I am more qualified".
"A pimp like you has nothing related with better, you're the worst".
"You dare!"
"I dare!"
2 extremely powerful Pugilist auras enveloped this temporary hideout as black and red collided. Tension grew high, it seemed like a fight would start any moment as the other warriors started keeping their distance.
The tension grew right until a calm voice interjected.
"Ok, Knock, Drog, let's not embarrass ourselves before our subordinates right, don't you think?"
"Aegon".
Captain Aegon calmly looked back at them. "Clan head Kohama predicted something like this and told me to handle it so here I am".
"We'll settle it the warrior's way, through battle till one of you submits".
"Do you both agree?"
"Yes!" Gron said with gritted teeth as he glared at Knock.
Knock smirked. "We drew all 6 of our previous duels, who says you won't lose this time?" He turned to face Aegon. "Ok".
"So be it".
