"Okay, we're serious now. Teren, what happened earlier, we don't do that here."
Matthew whispered to Teren. They were all lining up in one row as they walked towards the open space in the middle of the three buildings.
"Want to play ball?"
"Nah, surely the Alpha won't keep his promise of letting use it."
"Ergh... Boss Alpha is a man of his words. Ask him if we can play right now."
"Why me!?"
"Come on!"
Teren glanced at the prisoners from another cell after hearing them say the title "Alpha"
'I guess this is going to be a fast work.'
"Stay close, Teren. Since you're new, you will be under the spotlight for questioning. Don't worry, we'll protect you." Mesi winked at Teren.
"But isn't Heren getting shittier? To put a kid in this kind of place. Look at Teren, how could this cute kid murder people?"
'What did I do to be called cute?'
Teren frowned at him but that just made MatThew nod.
"Teren, just answer honestly. The first question will be your name, second is what did you do to get here. Practice what you will say. If you act wimpy, they will target you."
Derek said without turning his head. He's at the front since he's the shortest.
Teren didn't reply as usual but he was listening to Derek. Learning something isn't that bad. He's not omnipotent after all, Can't be too confident, he thought.
They walked out of their building and Teren immediately noticed that the prisoners coming out of the opposite building were different. It's not that they were not uniform as they walk together like lining up but... they were all behind one man.
It's strange.
"That's the Alpha. He basically rules this place."
Derek said, not needing to point at the most conspicuous person. He had pale white skin, a wide confident smile, pointy white-dyed hair. and was surrounded by the toughest-looking prisoners around there.
He walked with big strides as if this was his own backyard.
"Not just rules, he owns this place."
Matthew lowly scowled.
"Come on, we're already used it to. Don't show such bitter expressions in front of Teren." Mesi tried to calm Matthew down.
"Tsk...! "
With a nerve popping out, Matthew snubbed.
Teren was lying if he said he's not curious but he couldn't be bothered.
'Should I talk to him now? Should I create a scene?'
But didn't make any movement first. There's no need to rush things. He still have two days before Sunday. He wants the best outcome so he'll just silently observe for now.
Yet, thinking at the disgusting toilet back at the prison cell, Teren immediately changed his mind.
'I should finish this today.'
...
Meanwhile, at the warehouse, the new gang that Teren formed which they now call themselves - the Devi House- was having a meeting.
After all the fuss about what to name the group, they just went with Devi House. That's their only middle ground since Teren didn't really step in.
"So Boss Hark is right again."
Old Derman smoked a cigar while sitting at the edge of the warehouse.
"Yeah, I didn't know the Hidden Wolves are so persisted about it."
Uncle Jo said which Nathan then asked.
"But why are they in the prison in the first place? Were they caught or did the Handwing Gang placed them there?"
Hearing this question, Uncle Jo and Dennis looked at each other and smirked.
"W-what?"
"Oh, I thought you already know that, Nathan. But it's good you don't know that much or you would've given Sik a lot of information back then."
"Tse! Sik, that bastard, I didn't know he was just playing an ally. I hate myself for feeling bad about him!"
But while they were discussing, there was a knock on the warehouse's door. Dennis immediately hid within Uncle Jo's shadow while they all looked at who entered.
To their surprise, it's someone very important in the city.
"Hello... is this the Handwing Gang?"
A man in an expensive suit entered. Behind him, there were two bodyguards. But before they enter, he told them not to come in with him.
Although the bodyguards stayed, they were sweating and were ready to take action at any time.
"No, this is not the Handwing Gang but the Devi House. Who are you?"
Nathan looked down at the man in a suit and a cane.
"Hey, Nathan, don't be so rude to the mayor."
Old Derman spoke, startling Nathan.
"E-eh? Mayor?"
"Yes, I am Heren City's Mayor, Greten J. Udwil."
...
"Hey, Teren! Where are you going!?"
Derek and Matthew had their eyes widened when they heard Mesi. They just sat at the table after getting their share of the meal. But then, Teren suddenly stood up while carrying his tray.
Mesi immediately stood up and ran to him.
'Fuck! What's this kid doing!? He might take their attention! This is not school, kid!'
But he was late.
"Huh? Who are you?"
Some big prisoners looked down at Teren when they saw him.
"W-wait, bros, he's just confused. He's just new today."
"New? He looks so young!"
The big men were talking to each other, taking interest in Teren.
"Listen! Everyone! An Interview is coming up!"
One of the big men smacked the table while the second followed.
"If you don't turn your eyes here, we'll scoop 'em!"
Immediately afterward, everyone was looking at them.
"What's happening here?"
"Oh, First Beta Brother, perfect timing!"
"Perfect timing, my ass, we're all here from the start! And don't call me with that long-ass name!" the newly-arrival smacked one of them big men but they just laughed it off. The one called "First Beta Brother"
"So, an Interview, huh..."
The First Beta looked at Teren with interest.
"Let me do it, go stand on the table, brat!"
"Hm? What's happening there?"
The Alpha rolled his eyes on the scene and found a kid climbing up to a table. However, he was enjoying his meal that was unlike what any other have. Therefore, he didn't bat an eye and let the others do it. He'll hear the 'Interview' from there's anyway.
