The Sword King had suddenly jumped onto the stage!
Before he was even able to utter the traditional last words of a villain, the Head Abbot's head fell to the ground like a useless rock, his eyes still bulging in extreme shock.
Even in his wildest dream, the scheming Head Abbot could never think that he would fall to a simple trick like this. After all, he had been keeping tabs on all of the powerhouses that could threaten him around, but he didn't expect someone to be hidden from his accurate senses.
"I was against bringing the Hidden Edge to a distant place like this, but killing one of the top twenty within the Heaven List is definitely worth it!"
The Sword King smiled proudly atop the Poison Dragon's body, the Hidden Edge was truly deserving of its title as one of his Southern Edge Sect's three founding treasures. Not only did allow him to completely kill his presence in preparation for an extremely silent assassination, but it also amplified his Internal Energy's sharpness in equivalence to the amount of time he spent holding back from drawing out the 'Hidden Edge'!
Diamond or not, the traitor had no option other than to get silently slain; his fate had long been sealed when both the Sword Sage and the Sword King had decided to work together!
'He is here as well?'
The Sword Sage's appearance was something that was already bound to happen. However, not to mention The Sword King himself, not a single person from the Southern Edge Sect made an appearance since they had to deal with the emergency of a crack opening up in their backyard…
'Did the crack not appear due to my butterfly effect altering the probabilities? Or…'
Unlike other confirmed events, the opening of cracks seemed to be affected by his actions the most. From a certain point of view, the random crossing of dimensions was indeed dependent on probability more than most.
Still, there was also a chance that the Sword Sage had made the deal with the Sword King earlier than usual. Perhaps it was Geochin's loss of the Sword Conference's reward that made him impatient enough to act ahead of schedule. After all, the Sky Fruit presented his best bet at achieving a grand reversal!
Roaaaar!
At the same time the two Sword Masters were happy with their feat of cleaning up one traitor, Cheon Chang's spear tore through the Poison Dragon's large wing!
'It can be done.'
Leo completely believed in his senior brother's ability to survive and push back. He didn't get the title of the Absolute Spear for nothing! Killing the Calamity on his own was too much of a stretch, but he was doing a great job at rendering the Sky Fruit's buff useless!
The Poison Dragon's body no longer tried to recover with the existing wing after it suffered so much lightning damage, focusing all of the excess vitality on forming a new one following its separation! The Absolute Spear that fought without care for his life to end the threat was something of the past!
'This time is drastically different!'
At the very least, Leo tried to convince himself of that. Cheon Chang's desperate wish was on its path to realization through his existence! As the senior brother, he had to live to guide him to the peak that his master stood at!
No troops had been called out to protect the Sky Fruits from being snatched, nor did Cheon Chang lose his purpose in life just yet! The scene where he sacrificed his life to take down the Calamity didn't need to be repeated! There was a reason and a place that he could go back to now!
Swish!
Although many injuries had accumulated on his body, they were mostly superficial ones. The current Cheon Chang only fought to redirect the Poison Dragon's attention towards himself, holding his ground as he waited for backup to arrive.
Naturally, Cheon Chang didn't pin all of his hopes on the surrounding powerhouses. Since Mount Heaven was quite close to this location, the other members of the four pillars could make it within half a day!
Running away might have seemed like a viable option, but that line of thought was simply two-dimensional. When facing an opponent like the Emerald Calamity, escaping would only quicken their deaths.
Swish! Kraaaah!
A deep gash appeared on the Poison Dragon's head as one of his two prominent horns was sent flying, prompting another cry to escape his throat.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Changyong!"
Sheathing the Hidden Edge one more time, the Sword King let out a laugh full of energy, appearing younger than his actual age. Another stream of blood was drawn as the Sword Sage attempted to take out one of the Dragon's eyes. Unfortunately, the eyelids took the brunt of the attack as the monster reacted in time.
"It's a shame we couldn't get that shameless monk to spell out the names of his accomplices… However, this takes precedence!"
Both Sword Masters appeared by Cheon Chang's side after dishing out their respective attacks. The battle was finally starting to get more balanced!
Roaaaar!
Just like every time his irritation grew, the Emerald Calamity used its most potent weapon, spewing out heaps of dark poison on the surroundings. At this point, there was barely any spot the three could stand on without using their Internal Energy to remove that poison…
'It's uncontrollable.'
To begin with, the monster being considered a major catastrophe was directly linked to his poison jet rather than his size, that was just how effective it was as an Area of Effect attack! Even when he died in the novel, it made sure to take a few thousand Martial Artists down to the grave with its poison explosion.
"I was waiting for this! Now that you are down on the ground, I can roast you as much as I want!"
Shuaaaa…
A pillar of fire rose out of nowhere, plunging deeply into the Poison Dragon's throat! The powerhouse that took the initiative earlier had made his appearance just according to the script!
