“Bastard!”

“Courting death!”

“Too arrogant!”

“Is he challenging the entire Undying race?!”

The Undying race’s younger generation instantly went crazy. They had never seen anyone so brazenly arrogant.

Chu Yao and Liu Ruyan couldn’t help but smile through teary eyes. To them, a man was never more handsome than when he lost his mind protecting his women.

“One-on-one is fine, and even all of you coming together is alright. Today, I, Long Chen, will show you what it means to be unrivaled beneath the Human Emperor realm!”

“Arrogant human!” Liu Qingyu roared.

The moment he recovered, he shot at Long Chen like a bolt of lightning.

In response, Long Chen directly slapped him away and said, “Scram! A loser has no right to challenge me.”

Liu Qingyu had suffered a serious injury. Long Chen’s earlier attack had been the Sovereign Blood Seal—not just a superficial strike. It was filled with a destructive essence that even the Undying race’s regenerative powers couldn’t heal so easily.

Were it not for his Undying physique, Liu Qingyu would have died ten times over. Even so, that attack had severely damaged him. His aura was pitifully weak now. Attacking Long Chen in this state was purely seeking humiliation.

As Liu Qingyu was sent flying out of the martial stage, the stage was restored to its prime condition. Standing at the center, Long Chen looked at all the spectators.

All nine top-ranked members of the Sovereign sprout rankings were present, seething with rage.

But none dared act recklessly. If they all charged at once, wouldn’t that be the same as elevating Long Chen’s status? Wouldn’t it make them look like fools?

They hesitated. One by one, they turned toward Liu Xihua. She, however, was staring at Long Chen, Chu Yao, and Liu Ruyan with a dazed expression.

Is this the love they spoke of?

The first time Liu Xihua saw Long Chen, she felt that his power was unfathomable, and he possessed many trump cards.

Within his eyes, she saw wisdom, tenacity, and dedication. She knew that despite his age, he possessed the charisma and might of a powerful general.

At first, Liu Xihua had believed Long Chen’s engagement with Liu Ruyan was nothing more than a political scheme to infiltrate the Undying race—a ploy to gain benefits from the Undying race through Liu Ruyan. But then… she saw his fury on Liu Ruyan’s behalf and the killing intent in his strike against Liu Qingyu. Those weren’t things that could be faked.

“Did I really misjudge?” muttered Liu Xihua silently.

The nine top-ranked Sovereign sprouts stood ready behind her, as the younger disciples of the Undying race shouted encouragement.

Of these nine people, five were men and four were women. However, they didn’t immediately step forward to fight as they were caught in a difficult position.

To go up all at once was disgraceful, and to fight one after another was foolish. Either way, any victory would still be a joke or even a dishonor to their race.

In any case, they weren’t sure if they could beat Long Chen. Long Chen’s earlier attack had been nothing short of terrifying. Still, they consoled themselves—Liu Qingyu had been careless. If he had relied on their race’s famed defense rather than trading blows, the outcome might have been different.

After all, the Undying race’s absolute defense was outstanding even amongst all the ten thousand races. This was their true strong point.

They wanted to reclaim their honor—but who should go? They couldn’t send the strongest, or victory would seem unfair. After all, Long Chen wasn’t a Sovereign sprout. But if they sent someone weaker and lost again, they would be done for.

Sending out a third person? That would be shameful beyond repair.

So they hesitated. Every one of them was silently awaiting Liu Xihua’s judgment. Finally, she pulled her gaze from Long Chen and looked at the nine of them.

Only they heard her when she said, “Don’t humiliate yourselves. None of you can defeat him. He truly is unmatched beneath the Human Emperor realm.”

“How can that be?!”

The nine of them were all shocked, refusing to believe it.

Liu Xihua explained, “There are three reasons why you’re no match for him.

“First, your Sovereign sprout qi only carries the shape, not the essence. At most, it can apply some will-based suppression. But to him, that’s meaningless. He’s completely unafraid of any clash of wills. Your biggest advantage is useless against him.

“Second, before stepping into the Human Emperor realm, all races aside from humans are limited by their humanoid form. You cannot unleash the full potential of your true bodies. You’re already at a disadvantage facing a human cultivator at this level.”

“Even without those advantages, I can exhaust him to death with my immense lifeforce and divine abilities!” said one stubborn man.

Ignoring him, Liu Xihua continued, “Third… he’s hiding too many trump cards. His combat experience is vast. His movements are clean—flawless. The rest of you are far too lacking compared to him in this regard. You won’t get the chance to exhaust him. Against any of you, the fight will end in just a few moves.”

Liu Xihua sighed after she had said this. She wasn’t trying to give them a blow, but if she didn’t warn them now, the blow they would suffer on the stage would be far more painful.

The cauldron that Long Chen had brought out earlier still haunted her thoughts. Even now, she wasn’t sure if it was that legendary existence. If it was, then Long Chen’s background was unimaginable.

She hadn’t mentioned the cauldron to Liu Changtian. Without confirming the truth, she could only continue observing.

Besides, when Long Chen killed that elder from the Daluo Azure Lotus race, the mysterious black lightning vine that emerged… even she had felt danger from it.

The truth was, the only reason she was here was because she feared Long Chen would lose control and start slaughtering Undying disciples. If that happened, things would spiral beyond anyone’s control.

Fortunately, despite his fury, Long Chen still held back. Liu Xihua had sensed it when Long Chen struck Liu Qingyu—he had deliberately pulled back the full force of the blow. Clearly, Long Chen had been worried about killing Liu Qingyu.

In truth, Long Chen had only held back at the last moment because Liu Qingyu had no intention of killing him in that exchange. In other words, Liu Qingyu only wanted to beat him, not kill him.

If Liu Qingyu had gone in for the kill, Long Chen wouldn’t have hesitated—he would have slain him without remorse.

“I don’t believe it! I want to fight him!” shouted someone.

The third-ranked woman on the Sovereign sprout rankings gritted her teeth and stepped onto the stage.
