NINE STAR HEGEMON BODY ARTS

Chapter 5799: Worsening Situation

Chapter 5799 Worsening Situation

Long Chen had originally planned to handle the matter himself, but after considering everything, he decided it would be better if Luo Zichuan executed them.

If Long Chen had taken action, it would have seemed like Luo Zichuan couldn’t avenge the Luo family’s blood debt, forcing his grandson to step in. That would only weaken Luo Zichuan’s authority as the future family head, making it appear as if he couldn’t handle the consequences should the Bi family seek revenge.

Furthermore, Luo Zichuan was the future family head. If he didn’t even have the courage to kill his enemies for revenge, then while the Luo family’s people might not say anything publicly, that would definitely leave a bad impression on them.

Moreover, as the next leader, Luo Zichuan needed to demonstrate strength. If he hesitated to execute their enemies, even if the Luo family members didn’t voice their concerns, it would plant seeds of doubt. Any further retreat would be seen as cowardice.

Long Chen had killed countless people, so he didn’t mind killing a few more. The Bi family had brought this upon themselves; they had no one else to blame. However, allowing his grandfather to deliver the final blow would bolster the Luo family’s unity and send a clear message to the other families. It was undoubtedly the better choice.

Unexpectedly, before Luo Zichuan could act, the race leader struck first.

Long Chen and Luo Zichuan exchanged a glance. Neither of them had expected the race leader to ultimately stand with the Luo family.

With their strongest disciples, core Elders, and family head all dead, the Bi family would never regain its former glory. From now on, they would have to lower their heads and live cautiously within the violet blood race.

Suddenly, a Bi family disciple roared in fury, his voice trembling with rage.

“Long Chen, we’ll remember this!”

His outburst sent a jolt of fear through the rest of the Bi family. They were terrified that Long Chen would view this as a provocation and wipe them out completely.

Long Chen’s expression remained icy as he replied, “Then make sure to remember it well. Forgetting past debts is a betrayal, just as it would be a betrayal for us to forget the years of torment under your Bi family’s schemes. So many of our geniuses died because of your schemes. Did you really think we wouldn’t know who was behind it? Do you take us for fools?

“If you’re going to play dirty, expect to get buried one day. Today, I’m merely collecting a fraction of what your Bi family owes us. With Bi Yingxiong and the others dead, I’m willing to let the past go. But if you want revenge, that’s fine. I’ll open a new account for your debt. I, Long Chen, do not show mercy to my enemies. Don’t give me a chance—because if you do…”

Long Chen lifted his sword and gave it a sharp flick, sending the blood clinging to its blade flying. Then, with a smooth motion, he sheathed it.

Click.

The light sound of the sword settling into its scabbard echoed through the heavens like a divine whisper, chilling and absolute. It sounded like a god’s decree or a devil’s sinister curse. Some even swore that they could hear the agonized cries of all Elders who had perished beneath it.

Long Chen didn’t need to say more. That single sound conveyed everything—he would gladly eradicate the Bi family if they gave him the excuse to do so.

As the Shadow Guard withdrew sullenly, Long Chen retrieved the Earth Cauldron. In truth, he had only summoned it to intimidate them. The cauldron wasn’t meant for combat, but rather to simply suppress the Battle God Drum.

The race leader had no intention of fighting, leaving the Shadow Guard as the only opponent. Based on Long Chen’s assessment, Luo Zichuan should not be weaker than the Shadow Guard. His grandfather was still in his prime, while the Shadow Guard was clearly past his peak. As long as Luo Zichuan could withstand the initial exchange, victory would be within his grasp.

Furthermore, Long Chen also had the devil race’s energy storage dagger in his hand, so he refused to believe they would dare to go against him directly.

Even if his grandfather was at a slight disadvantage, Long Chen had plenty of other trump cards—the Demon Moon Cauldron, the Heaven Flipping Seal, and Huo Linger. The Heaven Flipping Seal, in particular, specialized in sneak attacks that could catch the Shadow Guard off guard.

With so many advantages on their side, if they still had to retreat before the Bi family, they might as well surrender and die.

That was why this Shadow Guard was such a fool. Without a good head, he was just a waste of power.

In truth, the Shadow Guard knew deep down that the Bi family was at fault. They deserved to be put in their place. However, Long Chen’s ruthlessness and arrogance had provoked him.

But even though he was infuriated, he had to admit—Long Chen had the strength to back up his words. More importantly, he couldn’t afford to kill Long Chen. If he really were to fight Luo Zichuan, his head would be a waste of space. In the end, he had to leave with a belly full of fire.

The other families were not pleased with the outcome. Though the Bi family had only themselves to blame, their downfall meant one less major force in the war against the devil race.

With grim expressions, the other clans quickly departed. This battle had shattered the morale of the violet blood race.

As for the Bi family’s remaining disciples, they wore expressions of either terror or fury. Some stood in a daze, unable to process the catastrophe that had just befallen them.

Eventually, the Elders nudged them into action. They started collecting the corpses, preparing to clean the bloodstained plaza.

However, just as they started, the race leader commanded, “There’s no need to clean anything. We won’t be staying here much longer.”

At those words, the Bi family’s people silently departed.

Luo Zichuan glanced at the race leader, noticing that he remained behind. Understanding his intent, Luo Zichuan immediately signaled the Luo Yingchen and the other Luo family’s Elders to leave.

Now, only three figures stood in the bloodstained plaza—the race leader, Long Chen, and Luo Zichuan.

“Race leader, why bother? This was a Luo family matter. We could have handled it ourselves. Why did you step in?” asked Long Chen.

Long Chen or Luo Zichuan should have dealt with the execution. After all, the race leader had no obligation to involve himself. Once they all arrived at Sovereign Mountain, the Bi family’s members would report this incident to the other Bi family branches. They would never accept such a loss.

If the Luo family had settled the matter, that would have been one thing. But for the race leader to personally take action, half the responsibility—if not more—would fall on him.

Thus, both Long Chen and Luo Zichuan were confused. Why would the race leader do such a thing?

The race leader bitterly smiled. “This entire situation arose from my own failure. I never wanted this position—I only took it because I had no choice. My goal was to resolve the grievances among the great families and safely bring everyone to Sovereign Mountain. I thought I was close to succeeding… yet here we are.

“To put it frankly, it’s all my fault. If I had been stricter toward the Bi family, they wouldn’t have dared to do this. Since I am responsible, how can I not bear the consequences?”

Luo Zichuan replied, “Race leader, you shouldn’t blame yourself. Senior Yingchen always told us that you protected the Luo family from the shadows. Without you, we might not have survived. We understand your struggles. After all, the Bi family’s patriarch was still present back then. It wasn’t like you could do anything to them.”

Back then, the Bi family had a late-stage Divine Emperor, and even the race leader had to be wary of him. But for some reason, this patriarch of the Bi family suddenly passed away. However, the Bi family didn’t proclaim it, instead saying that he was in seclusion. Because of this, they could act as tyrannically as before.

The race leader knew the truth, but he didn’t expose them. However, whenever he had a chance, he would secretly help the Luo family.

Shaking his head, the race leader said, “Now isn’t the time to speak of such things…”

BOOM!

Just then, the entire violet blood race’s land rocked violently.

“The devil race’s army has come out in full force! They’ve completely surrounded this place!”
