Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5614: Long Chen vs. Long Zaiye

Long Chen moved like a phantom—so swift that no one could react, yet his movements seemed so deliberate that everyone could clearly follow them.

Even so, Long Zaiye couldn’t dodge. It was only when Long Chen’s hand was about to strike his face that his head started moving, but it was far too late.

With a resounding smack, Long Zaiye was sent flipping through the air. He rotated three times before stabilizing himself, but there was a clear handprint on his face now.

The crowd was stunned. Countless eyes widened in disbelief, and even peak experts like Jiang Yue’e and Long Zimo were momentarily speechless.

“How… how did that slap land?”

No one could comprehend it. Long Chen’s strike had seemed so ordinary, yet it had managed to bypass Long Zaiye’s formidable senses.

Only Feng Fei remained calm, shaking her head with a faint smile. “This fellow always starts like this.”

She understood Long Chen far too well. From the moment he stepped forward to take Jiang Yue’e’s place, she already noticed his subtle movements. He had been measuring the distance, calculating the perfect moment to strike. This signature move of his never failed.

Jiang Yue’e looked between Long Chen and Feng Fei. Feng Fei had told her about the “illustrious” history of this move, causing her to feel speechless.

“Who even refines a technique like that? It has no killing power—its sole purpose is to humiliate the opponent,” Jiang Yue’e remarked, baffled.

But now, seeing Long Zaiye’s bloodshot eyes and the viper-like fury writhing in his pupils, she realized the genius of it. Sometimes, the pain of humiliation cut deeper than any physical wound.

Meanwhile, Long Chen looked at his hand with a bemused expression.

He remarked, “What a thick face! I’ve slapped countless people, but yours… yours takes the prize.”

Everyone was silent, and the atmosphere was so tense it felt solid. All eyes turned to Long Zaiye, who now radiated a terrifying aura.

“Ignoring everything else, his courage is truly something,” Jiang Yue’e whispered.

“Big sister Yue’e, you should distance yourself from him,” said Feng Fei suddenly.

“Why? Are you afraid I can’t beat him?” Jiang Yue’e replied, frowning.

She was a peak heavenly genius who had never tasted real defeat from ancient times to now. Except for Long Zaiye, no one could give her any sense of pressure. Even the Zhao clan and the Ye clan’s two peak heavenly geniuses didn’t worth shit for her.

“It’s not about that. It’s just that… well, forget it.” Feng Fei smiled bitterly.

Jiang Yue’e stared at her for a moment, then laughed. “Are you worried I’ll fall for this silly fellow?”

Feng Fei nodded.

Jiang Yue’e was momentarily stunned before waving dismissively. She said, “I’ve seen countless men in my lifetime. Even during the primal chaos era, none of the monstrous heavenly geniuses caught my eye. You think he will?”

Feng Fei smiled faintly and shook her head. She and Jiang Yue’e shared a bond akin to that of sisters. To have a peerless expert like Jiang Yue’e as an ally was a rare fortune, and Feng Fei was determined to help her reach the peak of the nine heavens.

Still, unease gnawed at her. She feared Jiang Yue’e would end up on the same path as her. She had told Long Chen back then that Long Zaiye’s overwhelming strength made her abandon her pursuit of martial strength.

In truth, her doubts had clouded her Dao-heart, which led her to step back, redirecting her efforts toward supporting Jiang Yue’e instead.

“You said you are a nine star heir? As someone who resorts to lowly sneakattacks, how dare you say that? The nine star line prides itself on its honor—there’s no way they’d stoop to such tactics. You’re no nine star heir,” declared Long Zaiye suddenly.

Unexpectedly, after a few breaths, Long Zaiye had suppressed his anger. This unexpected response shattered the flow of Jiang Yue’e and Feng Fei’s private conversation, pulling their attention back to him. Both women felt a tremor in their hearts.

“What a frightening fellow,” muttered Feng Fei.

They had always viewed Long Zaiye as a hot-headed berserker, someone whose wrath was as volatile as it was explosive. Yet, here he stood, cool and composed despite the humiliating slap he had just endured.

Even Long Chen was momentarily taken aback, realizing he had underestimated Long Zaiye. He wasn’t just some brute acting on raw emotion.

Long Chen replied, “The nine star line numbers in the trillions, so the existence of a variant like me is normal. Don’t be so close-minded. Since you have the blood of nine star heirs on your hands, it is fated for us to be enemies. Let’s not waste more words.”

After saying that, Long Chen looked around and announced, “My friends, can you all take a few steps back? I don’t want anyone to get splattered with blood when things heat up.”

His words were like oil on a fire. Many spectators nearly choked, their faces turning red as they struggled to process the audacity of this so-called legendary unrivaled warrior.

“He is a nine star heir? I just can’t believe it.”

“It’s impossible, absolutely impossible. How could a legendary warrior be so… second-rate? He doesn’t seem like a peerless expert at all.”

“He’s definitely a fake. Just watch, his act will fall apart soon enough.”

“Of all the identities he could have faked, why choose the nine star line? They’re mortal enemies with the Brahma line! Is he suicidal?”

Murmurs of disbelief and outright scorn rippled through the crowd. Some people even started to jeer at Long Chen, saying that he was shameless and wasting everyone’s time.

However, Long Chen ignored them and just focused on Long Zaiye. Although he acted frivolous, he knew he couldn’t play around in front of Long Zaiye.

In truth, that slap of his had been a probing blow. To his dismay, it hadn’t even scratched the surface of his opponent’s power.

For the first time in a long while, Long Chen felt the weight of a truly formidable adversary pressing down on him.

Long Zaiye spoke again, his tone eerily calm. “I was furious just now—so angry I almost killed you outright. But I held back. Do you know why?”

“Because you think I’m your long-lost daddy?” Long Chen replied, feigning shock.

Jiang Yue’e and Feng Fei struggled to stifle their laughter. Even Jiang Yue’e, who rarely cursed, muttered under her breath, “This bastard…”

At this serious time, he was still in the mood to make a joke.

Long Zaiye’s expression darkened, his composure cracking. A vein bulged ominously on his temple, but somehow, he managed to endure.

“I held back because I enjoy tormenting nine-star heirs,” Long Zaiye said coldly. “I drag out their suffering, forcing them to unleash their full power before I crush them completely. If you’re a true heir, I’ll do the same to you. If you’re not… well, your suffering will be tenfold.”

Without warning, Long Zaiye vanished, leaving only an afterimage behind. In an instant, he was in front of Long Chen, his fist hurtling toward Long Chen with devastating force.

The crowd gasped.

“What speed!”

Feng Fei’s heart clenched. She knew this battle would only end when one of them was dead.

Faced with Long Zaiye’s sudden attack, Long Chen didn’t flinch. Instead, he met the blow head-on with his own punch.
