“I can’t just take your word for this, it’s too different than what I know.” he said seriously.
I scoffed “I have no reason to lie to you but if you don’t believe me you are free to summon one of those toads of yours. I believe you call them Ma and Pa? They can confirm everything I’ve said, I’ll wait.” I said gesturing him to get on with it.
He weaved a set of hand seals before biting his thumb and slamming his hand into the floor. “Woosh!” a small cloud of smoke manifested out of nowhere and quickly dissipated to reveal two small odd looking toads. –
One was white with a sort of purple afro of hair on it’s head and the other was a more standard green but had white furry eyebrows a spike of white hair on the top of it’s head and a sharp beard on it’s chin. Both wore a sort of cloak wrapped around their bodies.
“Eh? Why have you sum…!” the green toad started speaking but froze mid sentence as my existence registered to it.
“”WE GREET THE LORD OF NATURE!”” both toads said loudly as they prostrated themselves before me.
“There is no need for that, I don’t much care for formality. To answer the question you were going to ask however Jiraiya summoned you because he didn’t believe me when I told him that I was a natural born sage. Not that he can be blamed if you haven’t told him of that topic.” I said slightly amused by the toads reactions.
The toads both immediately relaxed after hearing me but also grimaced as Jiraiya not knowing about natural sages was kinda their fault as his teachers in sage related matters.
“We weren’t hiding it or anything like that but with all due respect, your kind are myths of old, stories at best.” the white toad said with a odd expression.
“To most shinobi so is the sage of six paths due to how long ago he walked the land but we both know he actually existed. Though I am interested to know why Katsuyu’s reaction to me wasn’t nearly as extreme as yours, quite mild in fact?” I said curiously.
Both toads looked annoyed at that “Much as it displeases us to say the great slug has seniority over every sage currently alive. Due to this her emotions are heavily muted from the many things she has experienced through her split off clones. Even the emergence of a natural sage such as your esteemed self will likely bring little fluctuation to her emotional state. We on the other hand are not nearly so detached and thus reacted in a far more usual way.” the white afroed toad explained honestly.
“What’s so special about these natural sages that has you two so flustered?” Jiraiya asked curiously.
“Only he can say if it’s true or not.” The green toad said pointing at me before continuing “But from what we know natural sages are the darlings of the world standing at the apex of all natural species. Like how a Daimyo rules over a country but with real power rather than mere political pull. If the tales are true natural sages are more or less living gods, immortal and unaging with the power to overturn entire continents with a flip of their hand and the perception to see the entire world at once.” the toad said seriously.
“A bit exaggerated and I certainly wasn’t born that powerful but so far that sounds correct, though I am unsure about the unaging part as I am still maturing. At the moment I would say my current strength more or less matches the First Hokage in his prime though my perception easily dwarfs anyone I can even think of covering all of Konoha as well as several miles outside it so long as I am not within my meditation chamber.” I said verifying what the toad said more or less.
“And Tsunade knows this?” jiraiya asked after he was done gaping at me.
I shrugged casually “She knows what you know and a good bit more.” I said without lying since I had no reason to.
“How does nobody realize someone like you is living in Konoha?” he asked shaking his head in disbelief.
“That’s easy to answer, I’m lazy. Well not like the Nara clan as I quite enjoy training and research but in that I rarely make any major moves like fighting or even taking missions outside the village since the publicity is too much of a hassle. As far as everyone knows I’m just at the regular S rank level of power because that’s all they ever saw and I like it this way.” I said frankly.
“I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.” Jiraiya said rubbing his temple to try and sooth his headache.
I shrugged “If my sensei had her way it wouldn’t be as she keeps trying to make me take students but it’s a waste of time in my opinion. For most shinobi it makes sense because they will grow old or die so the village will lose their power if it’s not passed on but I am the exception to that rule. I am nearly impossible to kill and my power will only grow over time as I stay alive effectively forever.” I said casually.
“I don’t understand, wouldn’t that mean if you had students Konoha would only grow stronger and stronger over time?” jiraiya asked confused.
“You are thinking too simply. Not only would the other villages NOT just stand there while the village grew but eventually it would evolve into an all out war until either Konoha was destroyed or they were, assuming I didn’t crush the other villages personally that is. Honestly though I’d rather not as it would be such a waste of lives when you lot could just try and get along instead.” I said helplessly.
“You say that like you aren’t part of Konoha.” Jiraiya said with narrowed eyes.
“Of course I am part of Konoha but that doesn’t mean I have to buy into the whole hate other villages for being other villages nonsense. As far as I’m concerned that whole mentality is retarded as in the end we are all people and not that damn different from one another besides where we live.” I said with a look that dared him to try and argue.
