The Void Creatures tried to leave a venomous threat, but Yun Lintian didn't seem to care.

The black flames continued to burn, consuming the Void Creatures' bodies, reducing them to ashes. Soon, nothing remained of the two powerful creatures but a faint wisp of smoke that dissipated into the void.

Yun Lintian lowered his spear, its black light fading as he deactivated the Imperishable Flame. He looked at the captives, their faces still pale with fear, but their eyes now filled with hope and gratitude.

He smiled faintly. "It's over," he said, his voice calm and reassuring. "You are safe now." The captives' eyes widened in surprise, and then they erupted in cheers and shouts of joy. Although they had already prepared to die, staying alive was definitely better.

"Thank you, sir," the young man said, bowing deeply with the deepest gratitude. The other captives followed suit.

Yun Lintian used his divine energy to remove the seals on them and asked, "How many people are out there? And do you know where they have been capturing them?"

The young man straightened up and said with a sad expression, "Sir, most people are captured and placed inside the Ancient Battlefield. They are forced to do labor, mining Spirit Beads."

"Spirit Beads?" Yun Lintian frowned slightly. "Why would they need those? Shouldn't they be able to simply take them out from the ground?"

The young man quickly explained, "They seem unable to touch the beads, sir."

Yun Lintian's eyes widened slightly as he instantly thought of something. "The Primordial Decay?"

"What is that, sir?" The young man was confused.

"Nothing," Yun Lintian said, shaking his head slightly. He had never expected these creatures to be afraid of the Primordial Decay. However, these creatures were clearly born in the Abyssal Rift, where the Primordial Decay was everywhere, so this shouldn't be the case. There must be something more to it.

Yun Lintian thought for a moment and summoned the Gate of Beyond Heaven, connecting it to the Nine Firmament City.

"Everyone, you can go in. There will be people taking care of you," he said calmly.

All the captives were stunned to see the gate. They hesitated briefly and quickly walked into the gate.

"Sir, you must be careful. There are numerous creatures inside the Ancient Battlefield," the young man said solemnly.

"Thank you for the information," Yun Lintian smiled and watched as the young man disappeared into the gate. He waved his hand, and the gate disappeared.

"Big Brother Yun?" Linlin hopped onto Yun Lintian's shoulder and asked curiously.

"Well, we will find out soon," Yun Lintian said. He was also curious about the motives behind these creatures of chaos. From the look of it, they didn't seem to respect Fan Shen in the slightest. Clearly, they were directly ordered by the Lord of Chaos.

Speaking about Fan Shen and the Lord of Chaos, Yun Lintian didn't quite understand the relationship between them. The Lord of Chaos was supposed to be Nian Shi, the God of Time, and Fan Shen should be his enemy who previously launched a fatal blow to the God of Time in this timeline... Why were they suddenly working together?

Yun Lintian didn't think about it further and rushed towards the Ancient Battlefield without stopping.

The Ancient Battlefield, a desolate expanse of shattered earth and decaying remnants of a once-glorious civilization, was now a scene of forced labor and silent despair. Countless captives, their bodies emaciated and their spirits broken, toiled tirelessly under the watchful eyes of cruel Shadow Demons.

The rhythmic clang of pickaxes against the hard ground echoed through the vast expanse, a symphony of suffering and despair. The captives, their faces pale and their bodies trembling with exhaustion, mined for Spirit Beads, their movements mechanical and lifeless.

Every so often, a captive would collapse, their strength finally giving out under the relentless strain. The Shadow Demons, their eyes gleaming with cruel amusement, would descend upon the fallen captive, their shadowy claws tearing into their flesh, their fangs sinking into their bones, their screams of agony echoing through the desolate landscape.

The other captives, witnessing the gruesome fate of their fellow prisoners, would flinch and tremble, their hearts filled with terror. But they dared not stop, dared not rest, for they knew that the same fate awaited them if they faltered.

In a hidden corner of the Ancient Battlefield, two figures stood observing the scene, their expressions unreadable. They were Chaos Knights, beings of immense power and cruelty, their loyalty pledged to the Lord of Chaos.

Tang Zhen, his armor gleaming with a dark, chaotic energy, turned to his companion, Dian Lun.

"Have you received any news?" he asked, his voice a low growl.

Dian Lun, his eyes glowing with an infernal light, nodded. "Yes. Yun Lintian has arrived."

Tang Zhen's lips curled into a cruel smile. "Excellent. It seems our plan is proceeding smoothly."

Dian Lun's gaze swept over the toiling captives, his eyes lingering on those who were nearing exhaustion.

"Should we intervene?" he asked. "The creatures of chaos are not strong enough to stop

him."

Tang Zhen shook his head. "There is no need. Let them delay him. Our true goal lies

elsewhere."

Dian Lun's eyes narrowed in understanding. "The Ancient Battlefield's Core."

Tang Zhen nodded. "Indeed. Once we have the core, we will be able to unleash the full power

of the Ancient Battlefield. We will be able to reshape this realm, to transform it into a bastion of chaos, a fortress from which we can launch our assault on the Primal Chaos."

Dian Lun didn't say anything further and there seemed to be a hint of worries in his eyes. Having witnessed Yun Lintian's might first hand, he wasn't sure whether they could trap Yun Lintian here as planned.

Yun Lintian stopped the Cloud Dragon Ark above the entrance to the Ancient Battlefield. There were countless elite Shadow Demons and Void Creatures there.

As they perceived Yun Lintian's presence, the creatures of chaos immediately rushed towards him like a swarm of bees.

Yun Lintian frowned slightly. Naturally, he wasn't afraid of these creatures of chaos, but he was annoyed. It would take him a long time to get through them.

"It seems I can't do this alone," Yun Lintian sighed softly. He raised the White Dragon Spear, imbuing it with the power of chaos. As he swung it down, a powerful black flame erupted and rushed towards the oncoming enemies like a tsunami.

"ARGHH!"

The creatures of chaos were instantly drowned in the flames, their bodies reduced to ashes...
