My SSS-Rank Class Is Blood Monarch!
Chapter 385 - 385- God’s Gate (Part 22)It all happened in a split second, faster than the eye could blink. One moment, Arthur was walking slowly, and the next one, he was standing next to the dead corpse of the monster as it fell to the ground, tainted with its own disgusting blood.
He had severed its head before it could even run several steps, and the monster itself couldn’t even notice that as it died. Its disgusting eyes were wide open still, and there was a look of terror clear in its pupils.
Arthur stared down coldly at the dead monster before he swung his sword to the side, getting rid of the residue blood and flesh on its before he sheathed it again and threw it in his storage.
After that, he turned to Germa, who was still too stunned to speak, and said. “How is the situation back there? We need to hurry back.”
“No, don’t worry, sir. The group killed all the enemies, thanks to your valuable help. All the pressure on our defensive lines was reduced quite a bit when you dragged all those monsters away from us. We owe you for helping us survive!” The man replied.
“… Is that so?” Arthur blinked as he exhaled a small breath and fell to his knees.
“Sir?!”
“I’m fine, don’t worry.” The boy replied as he rubbed his face. “I’m just… a little tired. It has been an exhausting day, so give me a minute to catch my breath. I will be back to the group in a moment, you can go ahead first.”
The man didn’t reply immediately as he could feel the odd tone Arthur was using, but he still nodded his head and left. He understood that Arthur was in need of a moment alone to gather his thoughts.
When he was far away, Arthur finally crumbled to the ground, falling on his back with his arms stretched left and right. His eyes were wide, and he was breathing audibly.
“I survived… I truly survived…” He muttered to himself, still in complete disbelief. Even when he was feeling all of it, it still felt so surreal that he was able to make it out of that situation alive.
He felt the closest to death he had ever been, and it was so suffocating, and now he was breathing again, breathing life again.
For two minutes, Arthur laid on the cold sand, looking up at the darkness above. His mind was trying to catch up with everything, and when he calmed down again, he rose up from his spot and dusted the sand off.
Exhaling a long breath, he smiled faintly and looked at his hand. “Man, it really bit a chunk of my arm off. It still feels so sluggish to move.” He muttered. ‘But, I’m still alive… I can still make it back to Isla… I can make it back.’
All the crushing regret turned into strong hope and endless ambition. Those few seconds had made Arthur feel the weight of the task he was trying to achieve.
‘It’s not easy… It was never meant to be easy. It seems fate itself wants to make it very hard. But, I’m not someone who falls without a fight. I’m going to get the hell out of this shithole!’
“Just wait for me, Isla… I’m on my way back.”

After that, Arthur headed back to the spot where the group was. There, he found everyone still standing in the same defensive formation he had left them with. Their wariness was still up, and their intention to fight was as high as ever.
Reaching that spot, everyone noticed him and rushed toward him. They spoke words Arthur couldn’t understand as they surrounded him from every angle. Arthur was completely stunned as he heard words being thrown at him from dozens of people.
Even though he couldn’t understand most of it but he could feel the worry and relief they had to see their leader again, safe and sound.
“I’m really fine, guys. You can calm down. How is everyone doing?” As he struggled to calm them down, he looked left and right, and that was when he noticed several people lying on the ground.
Immediately, Arthur’s expression tensed as he paved a path through the crowd toward them. Germa approached him from the side in a hurry.
“How is their condition? Did they get injured in the fight?”
“Yes, sir… They sustained varying injuries and I have tasked the others to monitor their condition until you come back. We still don’t know if they’re going to suffer from that black liquid or…”
“Let me check. How many are there?”
“25 people have gotten injured… We had no casualties, thankfully, sir.”
As Arthur listened to Germa tell him exactly what had happened when he was absent, he started inspecting the bodies of the injured people. He made sure to thoroughly inspect it to avoid any possibility of them catching that disease.
After inspecting all the injured people, Arthur exhaled a long sigh of relief.
“None of them seem to have catched that disease… For now.” He muttered as he wiped the sweat off his face. “Treat their injuries and keep an eye on them.”
“Yes, sir.”
“We can’t stay here for long. Anyone who can move will move, and as for the others, we will carry them on our shoulders.” The boy added calmly. “We will move as soon as everyone is treated.”
The boy wished to give them a break after such an intense fight, but he simply was too worried another wave of monsters would hit them, and this time, the consequences could be way worse.
They had to leave and quickly; that place was not safe anymore, not that it was safe in the first place.
“… What a horrendous situation we’re in. The others who made it to the top must be quite worried.” Arthur muttered as he walked to the group. The process seemed to have reached an end as every single non-combatant climbed the chain.
They were there and waiting for the others to climb up. Luckily, the ones who climbed the latest were there to tell them what was happening, so Arthur wasn’t worried any sorting of misunderstanding would happen.
Instead, he decided to focus on rearranging the group for the next step, which was the ascension of the combatants. This particular step was even more important and very crucial than the first one.
To begin with, when the combatants start climbing, the group slowly gets more and more vulnerable as there aren’t enough people to fight in case of an emergency. That was why Arthur had to ensure it happened very swiftly and quickly.
So, to do that, the boy decided to organize the group not in a line but rather in groups. One group would start climbing while the other groups would keep the formation to defend in case of a battle. That way, he can maximize safety while keeping the process quick.
‘I might actually be a genius tactician. The way I come up with these ideas, they should hire me as a war general.’ The boy snickered as he watched the groups forming.
