My SSS-Rank Class Is Blood Monarch!

Chapter 371 - 371- God’s Gate (Part 9)

The first shriek quickly turned into several in less than a moment. Instantly, Arthur found himself hearing these noises from every single direction.

“Great, we have company.” Arthur clenched his teeth as he pulled his sword out. “Take formation, now! We are surrounded!”

Germa quickly instructed the team, and they quickly protected the vital cores of the group. They were all trained to act that quickly, and they did it without a hitch. Spreading around the area, they covered every single angle.

Their eyes couldn’t see, but with the darkness around them, there was really no point in using vision as it was completely obstructed. Instead, their sharp senses were their eyes and their guiding hand.

The shrieks of the monsters loudened, and it didn’t take long for the first attack to take place. Several silhouettes appeared out of nowhere, attacking the western side of the group’s defensive front.

*BANG*

Several individuals came forward and faced the attacks. Everyone there was either extremely good at using Exo-Burst or good enough to be able to stand their ground against the Human Chimeras.

The creatures howled loudly before they disappeared again. At the same time, several others appeared all around the front, attacking ruthlessly as they dashed forward.

“They’re all around us…” Arthur clenched his teeth. ‘I can easily count twelve. Not good at all.’

Standing in the back, Arthur looked left and right. The darkness was making the task harder, but his eyes were capable of piercing through the darkness to see what was happening. Things were happening everywhere at the same time, and he knew it was about to get worse.

The sound of monster cries and human grunts echoed in the area. Large clouds of dust rose as the clash grew more and more intense. The Human Chimeras’ monstrous strength made them extremely lethal.

“Germa, stay here and make sure to keep the formation. I’m going to the front to help.” Arthur said.

Then, the boy disappeared, rushing to the spots where the battles were happening. He knew that the battle had just barely started, but every second counted, and if he could make the fight end faster, than he was more than ready to do that.

However, even when he could see the group holding their ground very well, a part of him still felt quite perturbed for some reason.

‘I don’t know why I have a very uneasy feeling about this entire situation. I need to kill those monsters quickly!’

Like a flash, Arthur appeared at the spot closest to him where three Human Chimeras had attacked, aiming for the women and elderly at the back. Using Exo-Burst, Arthur ambushed one of the monsters and, with a swift hit, severed a good chunk of its body.

Then, without wasting time, he disappeared as he attacked the second one. However, much to his surprise, the two Chimeras had noticed his presence and immediately changed their aggro, attacking him at the same time from two different angles.

‘Dammit!’ Arthur was taken aback by this instanteous shift in their attentions. His ambush was perfect, and he assumed it would buy him at least two seconds of crucial time to kill or heavily injure two out of the three.

But, again, he had underestimated these monsters’ abilities. They were technically far superior to any other creature he had ever fought.

Immediately, Arthur summoned his Blood Claws along with the Frost Flames. His body shifted as he went into defense, using the sword, Arthur deflected the first attack in a split second as his left hand blasted the second monster with the full power of the claws and the flames.

The blood had a similar effect to normal fire in the sense that it left a burning effect on the target, and the Frost Flames with its freezing effect… A devastating hit by all measures.

*BOOOOM*

“EEEEER!!!”

Like a ragdoll, the monster was blasted back several dozen feet. At the same time, the other one hit the boy’s sword with a loud ringing sound.

“Woah!!”

The humans around him were completely taken aback. Their leader had just appeared out of nowhere and took on three Human Chimeras on his own, being able to kill one and heavily injure another.

“Don’t stop and watch! Let’s kill them all!” He yelled as he dashed forward. “We need to get this over with quickly!”

Arthur’s unease only grew more and more with each passing second. All around him, the battles were reaching their peaks rather quickly. Most of the fighters there had already faced Human Chimeras before, so they knew how to handle them, not to mention the fact they outnumbered them by a lot.

Meanwhile, the boy himself took on the last three monsters, and with the help of others, he killed them without sustaining any damage.

Then, he turned around and rushed to help the others, only to find that they all were able to easily finish the job. Before he even realized it, the humans had killed the hideous monsters.

“…”

“All monsters have been eliminated, sir!” Germa approached Arthur as he reported the situation.

“Yeah… I can see.” Arthur blinked, seeing the corpses of the monsters on the ground, seeping blood endlessly. The humans all around him didn’t seem particularly excited or cheerful about their success. Almost as if this was just another day at work.

‘I have underestimated these people quite a bit… They’re very strong.’

This brief demonstration had given Arthur a lot of information about this group. Particularly the fighters amongst the group, they were all highly skilled and very experienced in fighting these monsters. Their coordination was also top-notch and almost perfect.

‘I didn’t even need to order them at all. They just worked together and fought these monsters. This is great!’

The fact that there was this much chemistry between them gave Arthur a lot of relief. He didn’t have to worry about the group getting in shambles during grave situations. They will always fight how they know best.

“Good work, everyone. Any injured people?” Arthur asked.

“Three people sustained some minor scratches but nothing major. We are fine.” Germa explained.

“Good. This battle had gone as we wanted.”

‘I have also gained two more levels and some points in health. Quite nice. My health stat is picking up pace now.’ Arthur mused.

His health attribute hadn’t improved in quite a while so when he saw it reach 84 points, he was quite delighted. The more health points he gets, the more he could survive and regenerate. This was a very crucial ability to have.

‘Let me use Blood Eater on these three, maybe I will get an extra one or two points.’

Stepping forward, Arthur approached one of the corpses, attending to absorb its blood. However, at that moment, he noticed something rather… odd. He stopped and looked at the corpse. Then, he stepped back, feeling quite peculiar about it.

‘Did it just move, or was that my imagination?’ He blinked. For a split second, the boy saw one of the arms move and assumed that the monster was still alive. But, when he looked again, he could see that the creature was indeed dead.

“… Weird.”
