My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 756 - 756: A Mountain Of Gold Coins

“Now, my loyal subjects, head to the Imperial Palace and seek shelter. One of my sisters and some trusted acquaintances are already there to help you all,” Mireya said in an authoritative tone, a proud grin stretching across her face as she looked at her people.

“As you command, Your Highness,” the former enslaved elves responded in unison, joy lighting up their faces.

Mireya then retrieved a set of modest yet fine garments from her spatial ring and handed them over, saying, “Change into these. They’re decent clothes—take them. Once you’re dressed, head directly to the Imperial Palace.”

“We thank the Queen for her benevolence,” they all replied gratefully.

Without delay, the elves changed into the clothes given to them by their queen, covering their exposed and humiliated bodies. As they finished dressing, Yuan and his wives stepped forward and began removing the slave collars around their necks.

As soon as the oppressive collars were taken off, the elves couldn’t help but smile joyfully, tears welling in their eyes. One by one, they expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Yuan and his wives.

They bowed deeply, thanking them again and again for rescuing them from that living nightmare before quietly exiting the Holy Church. The sense of freedom they now carried was visible on every face.

Once the elves had left, Yuan and his wives turned their attention to Mireya, each of them wearing an expression of surprise.

“Well, well, well… Looks like I have a ‘Queen’ as my wife. How fortunate I truly am,” Yuan teased with a mischievous smile, his tone playful as he looked at Mireya, who instantly blushed at his words.

“I never imagined Mireya would be the ruler of the Elven Kingdom… This is truly unexpected—I’m speechless,” Rose added, smirking slightly as her eyes darted between Mireya and Sylvia.

Julie chimed in next, grinning from ear to ear. “Me too. To think our dear sister Mireya is actually the Queen of the Elven Kingdom. This is a real surprise!”

“Indeed. It’s quite a revelation,” Emma agreed, offering a gentle smile to Mireya and Sylvia.

“Well, we can talk about all this later,” Yuan said, his expression growing serious. “Right now, let’s find the treasury of the Holy Church. I’m certain they’ve hoarded vast amounts of gold and silver—maybe even magical artifacts and rare treasures.”

His wives nodded firmly in agreement, and they all began to search the cathedral using their Divine Sense.

After a few moments, Yuan located the treasury hidden deep beneath the Holy Church—in a concealed underground chamber.

Ten Holy Knights stood guard before the treasury, each wielding powerful magical weapons and clad in enchanted armor. A potent magical aura radiated from their bodies, thickening the air with pressure.

“The treasury is heavily guarded. However, it won’t be a problem for us. Killing these guards is as easy as breathing,” Yuan muttered with a wide grin on his face, casting a glance at his wives. They all nodded in agreement, sharing the same unwavering confidence.

“Let’s go. We have to destroy the Holy Church completely before sunrise. We don’t have time to waste,” Valeria said with a serious expression, spinning her sword with ease like a seasoned warrior warming up.

Without delay, they all descended the stairs leading toward the underground treasury. As they moved further down, they encountered numerous hidden traps embedded along the staircase.

However, thanks to their Divine Sense and their enhanced physiques, they effortlessly detected and bypassed every trap—crossing the death-laden path without suffering even a scratch.

“Who goes there?! Who dares to invade the treasury of the Holy Church?!” Suddenly, a furious shout echoed across the cold stone walls of the underground chamber.

Unfortunately for Yuan and his group, the traps had triggered an alert system, and the Holy Knights stationed near the treasury quickly became aware of their presence.

“Y-You… Who are you people? And how did you get here?!” “State your identity and your purpose if you don’t want to die miserably!”

Moments later, two Holy Knights appeared before Yuan and his wives. Suspicion and rage gleamed in their eyes as they shouted out demands.

“Do you think the two of you can stop us? Don’t make me laugh!” Valeria scoffed, looking at the Holy Knights with disdain and a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

“You—!”

Before either of them could finish their sentence, Sylvia vanished in a blur. In the blink of an eye, she appeared behind them, her daggers already soaked in fresh blood. Their throats had been sliced open before they could react.

“You fools never had what it takes to stop us. You should’ve just shut your filthy mouths,” Sylvia muttered coldly, her back still turned to their falling corpses.

The Holy Knights gasped violently, coughing up a torrent of blood as they collapsed onto the ground. Blood pooled beneath their twitching bodies, painting the stone floor a deep, horrifying red.

“That was far easier than I expected. They’re so weak… I feel like I’m cutting down helpless villagers, not supposed ‘elite’ Holy Knights,” Sylvia murmured, almost confused by her own strength.

“Hey, what’s going on? Did you two handle the intruders?”

Suddenly, another voice echoed from deeper within the chamber. The remaining Holy Knights were growing concerned after hearing no response from their comrades—only the unmistakable thud of armored bodies hitting the ground.

However, instead of their comrades, Yuan and his wives emerged from the shadows, stepping into view before the remaining Holy Knights. The unexpected appearance shocked and confused them, and they stared wide-eyed in disbelief.

“W-Who are you people? And what did you do to our men?” One of the Holy Knights finally broke out of his stupor, speaking with a mix of confusion and concern. None of them were wearing helmets, their expressions clearly visible.

“Oh, them?” Yuan replied with a calm smile, as if discussing something trivial. “Well, even though we didn’t really want to, we sent them to the afterlife.”

This revelation left the Holy Knights stunned. Their eyes widened in disbelief, their faces frozen in shock, as if they’d misheard him.

“Y-You must be joking… There’s no way you could’ve killed them,” one of them said, his voice trembling with rage.

“You fools probably don’t even have any mana,” another muttered coldly. “You’re too weak to even dream of defeating them.”

“Tell us how you got here,” a third said, stepping forward with a twisted grin. “If you speak now, maybe we’ll show some kindness and kill you without making you suffer.”

Yuan’s expression didn’t waver. His grin widened. “I don’t care if you believe me or not. Your opinion doesn’t matter.”

“And now, it’s your time to die. We don’t have time to waste, so we’ll make this quick.”

His eyes turned razor-sharp as he retrieved his massive sword from his system storage. He gripped the handle with one hand, lifting it effortlessly.

The sword was as tall as Yuan himself, its presence radiating immense power. Watching him handle such a massive weapon so casually made the Holy Knights uneasy. They instinctively assumed a defensive stance, all previous arrogance vanishing from their expressions.

They had underestimated him and his wives—and now, an unfamiliar fear began to settle in their hearts. A suffocating pressure descended upon them like a silent storm.

‘Why do I feel like my soul could leave my body at any moment…?’ one of the Holy Knights thought, trembling. Their limbs felt weak, and it was as though all the strength had drained from their bodies.

“Yuan, let us take care of these mere dogs of the Holy Church. We’re more than enough to put them down,” Mireya said with a proud grin as she drew her weapon.

In her hand was a slender sword, its blade a shimmering light green. The moment Mireya’s expression turned serious, a mysterious glow enveloped the weapon, amplifying its ethereal presence.

Beside her, Sylvia held a pair of dark red daggers, their edges gleaming with lethal intent. They looked sharp enough to slice through even the thickest metal like it was paper.

“Let’s do this, Sylvia,” Mireya said, her grin turning cold, her eyes filled with unrelenting fury.

“I’m always ready to kill some humans—especially those from the Holy Church,” Valeria smirked as she readied herself to unleash a devastating attack on the Holy Knights. “After all, they are the enemies of the world.”

Due to the overwhelming pressure in the room, the Holy Knights couldn’t move their bodies. No matter how hard they tried, they were frozen in place, as if encased in solid ice—like statues facing their inevitable end.

Taking advantage of their immobility, Mireya and Sylvia charged forward without hesitation and ruthlessly slaughtered them. There was no remorse in their eyes, only justice forged by years of suffering and vengeance.

After all, the Holy Church had kidnapped Mireya’s people and sold them as slaves at outrageous prices. Killing them wasn’t just an act of revenge—it was justice.

As the Queen of the Elven Kingdom, Mireya bore the duty to avenge her people and protect their honor. Yuan and the others fully supported her decision. No one raised a word of objection to the massacre of the Holy Knights.

Before long, all the guards of the treasury were dead. It was a bloodbath.

Mireya and Sylvia had been so ruthless in their approach that the Holy Knights cried out in agony, begging for death before the end finally came.

With the guards eliminated, Yuan stepped forward and lifted his massive sword. With a single, powerful swing, he slashed through the colossal door that protected the Holy Church’s treasure.

The iron door, nearly twelve inches thick, stood no chance. Yuan’s sword cleaved through it like a hot knife through butter.

Bang! The massive door crashed to the ground, sending a powerful shockwave through the chamber and cracking the stone floor beneath it with its sheer weight.

And what greeted them inside the treasury was nothing short of overwhelming—a mountain of gold coins stacked so high it was visible from outside the chamber. Beyond the coins were piles of precious treasures, magical artifacts, and rare items.

Yuan’s eyes gleamed the moment he saw it. A wide grin stretched across his face as he slowly stepped inside, his excitement uncontained.

“Would you look at that…” he muttered. “Seems we’ve hit the jackpot this time.”

Anna chuckled at the childlike wonder on Yuan’s face and walked beside him, matching his pace. “Absolutely. With this much wealth, we won’t need to earn money ever again.”

“Hahaha! I couldn’t agree more!” Yuan laughed loudly, his voice echoing off the chamber walls. His wives joined in, chuckling as they followed him inside, each nodding in agreement.
