My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 754 - 754: Eliminating The Holy Knights

“Let’s move. We don’t have time to waste,” Valeria said with a serious look on her face as she analyzed the surroundings.

She noticed a few dead bodies lying inside the cells—rotting, with bugs crawling over the decaying flesh. The pungent stench made it difficult for Yuan and his wives to breathe properly.

“Cover your face with Qi. That way, you won’t have trouble breathing,” Yuan instructed firmly, already coating his own face with Qi.

Everyone followed Yuan’s lead. As soon as they covered their faces, the foul smell vanished. In fact, the air now felt cool and refreshing, as though they were breathing in a forest breeze instead of the stench of death.

“Shall I burn those corpses? They look disgusting,” Xi Meili asked, glancing at Yuan and trying to read his expression.

Yuan shook his head. “No need. These corpses are evidence—proof that the Church is using children as test subjects. Let them rot. When this place is discovered, the Holy Church’s illusion of holiness will collapse.”

“In that case, we shouldn’t linger,” Valeria added, already stepping toward the large tunnel that stretched ahead. “We need to take down the Holy Church outside the city before sunrise.”

The tunnel created by the Church was massive, easily wide enough for a carriage to pass through.

“It’s huge… considering this was built as an escape tunnel under the city, the Holy Church really is something else. They must’ve used a lot of labor for this,” Lily muttered in awe, her eyes scanning the smooth stone walls.

“Mostly slaves,” Mireya replied coldly. “They wouldn’t spend a single coin on construction labor. Slaves did all the digging.”

As they moved through the tunnel, Emma looked at Mireya with a warm smile. “By the way, Sister Mireya, I found a few slaves from your race inside a noble’s mansion. I destroyed their slave collars and sent them to the Imperial Palace.”

“I see… Thank you, Sister Emma.” Mireya’s eyes softened as she gave a faint, dazed smile. “Looks like we’ll have a lot of work to do tomorrow.”

“There’s no need to thank me. We’re family, after all.” Emma returned her smile gently.

A few moments later, they arrived beneath the main Holy Church. Using their Divine Sense, they could see the people above. Some were laughing and playing games while drinking heavily.

Meanwhile, other followers and Holy Knights were alert, guarding the building with discipline. The security was tight, as most of the Church’s remaining members had returned here after the war.

“We’ll have to take down the enemy as swiftly as possible without alerting the others,” Valeria said, scanning the entire Holy Church with her Divine Sense.

“Absolutely. We can’t afford any mistakes under any circumstances…” Yuan nodded, his expression deadly serious.

Nearly a thousand people were stationed in and around the Holy Church. Security was extremely tight, and every move had to be calculated.

Alerting all the followers could lead to a disaster. As one of the most powerful organizations on the continent—second only to the Golden Skull—the Holy Church likely had emergency protocols in place. A single distress signal might summon the Pope and a massive army back to the Church.

Yuan and his wives had to ensure no one could send that signal.

They moved at once. Their movements were so swift and silent that not even a whisper was left behind. The guards posted at the tunnel entrance outside didn’t realize the danger until it was far too late.

Yuan casually flicked their foreheads with a finger—just a single touch, but enough to crack their skulls and destroy their brains. A gentle flick was all it took to end their lives.

“Let’s keep moving. There are four Holy Knights guarding the main tunnel exit. We need to take them down silently,” Yuan said, glancing at his wives.

They nodded immediately, their eyes cold with focus.

“Don’t worry, we’ve got this. There’s no way these mortals can keep up with our speed,” Fang Xiaoyan said with a confident grin. As a Phoenix, her pride was unmatched.

“Yuan, how about I take care of them?” Emma suggested, stepping forward with a smile full of confidence. “I’ll use my paralysis poison to freeze them in place. Since they’re mortals, they won’t even get a chance to speak.”

“In that case, I’ll leave them to you, Emma,” Yuan agreed.

Emma stepped forward gracefully, the proud smile never leaving her face. She stole a glance at everyone behind her before stopping in front of the massive iron door.

‘It’s my time to shine. Watch closely, Hubby. Let me show you just how useful my poison really is…’ she thought with a playful chuckle, then focused her Divine Sense on the four Holy Knights standing guard on the other side of the door.

Once she stood before the door, Emma blew a poisonous breath toward it. Her breath was so potent that it effortlessly slipped through the small cracks in the door.

The Holy Knights on the other side remained completely unaware of the danger. Before they could react, their bodies suddenly became stiff. They couldn’t even open their mouths to scream.

‘What the hell is happening to us??’

They were in shock, unable to move a single muscle. Their strength quickly left them, and they collapsed onto the floor, helpless.

Just as they were trying to understand what had happened, the door slowly creaked open. Their terrified eyes locked onto the figure standing there—tall, elegant, and menacing. Her cold gaze and vertical pupils radiated a deadly aura, making them feel as if death itself was staring them down.

“Well, it worked like a charm! They can’t even utter a single word,” Emma exclaimed with a proud grin as she looked down at the paralyzed Holy Knights.

“Indeed. You’re amazing, Emma. Your poison is just too powerful and deadly,” Yuan praised as he hugged her from behind, making her smile with joy.

“Thank you, my dear.” Emma responded sweetly and planted a kiss on his cheek.

Then, with a flick of her hand, she summoned four drops of an even deadlier poison. It was so potent that it could melt a person within seconds, not even giving them time to scream—unless they were at least a Spirit Grandmaster.

With a simple wave, the droplets landed on the paralyzed Holy Knights. Their heavy armor began to sizzle and dissolve almost instantly, followed by their flesh. In mere seconds, their bodies melted into black, bubbling glop.

Anna and the others winced at the gruesome sight. None of them had expected Emma’s poison to be that powerful—especially Leah, who was completely dumbfounded.

“It’s done. Let’s move to our next target,” Emma said cheerfully after eliminating the Holy Knights with ease.

They exited the tunnel through the back of the Holy Church, finally stepping under the open night sky. The moon was still shining brightly, accompanied by a blanket of stars.

Their next target: the watchtowers surrounding the Holy Church in every direction. Powerful Holy Knights were stationed there, constantly monitoring for any signs of intruders.

Those towers were the reason no one dared to infiltrate the Holy Church. Each one was not only a magical weapon but also acted as a powerful barrier and offensive structure.

Every tower was equipped with magic cannons, capable of destroying an entire fortress with a single strike—many feared those cannons for good reason.

“Let’s take down everyone at the towers as quickly as possible. Once we eliminate them, our focus will be to kill every single Holy Knight and follower of the Holy Church in the vicinity,” Yuan said to his wives, a serious look etched on his face. His gaze was fixed on the massive tower before him.

“Leave it to us. We’ll take care of the remaining towers,” Sylvia replied with a soft smile, but it quickly faded, replaced by a cold and murderous look.

Without wasting time, Yuan and his wives moved toward the tall towers at terrifying speed. Not a single Holy Knight in the area noticed their presence—they had no idea they were seconds away from death.

Yuan retrieved Slaughtering Abyss from his system storage, and the weapon instantly materialized in his hand. This would be the first time Yuan used the dagger since acquiring it.

Before the enemy could even comprehend the situation, Yuan struck with ruthless precision—aiming for the most vulnerable part of their bodies: their necks.

With swift, fluid movements, Yuan eliminated the entire squad of Holy Knights. They didn’t even have time to register their killer’s face before they died in the most brutal and silent way imaginable.

Their throats were cleanly sliced by Yuan’s dagger, ending their lives before they could react or alert anyone.

After ensuring every enemy was dead, Yuan quickly collected all valuables from the corpses and stored them in his system storage.

“Damn! The Holy Church is so greedy, and yet they don’t even pay their own people well. Still, they extort money from poor folks in the name of God,” Yuan muttered in disappointment as he examined the small amount of money inside each of the magic pouches.

Once he was done gathering everything useful, Yuan spread his Divine Sense to check on his wives, observing as they took down Holy Knights one after another with terrifying ease.

Emma, Ava, and Sylvia moved like shadows—striking before their targets even realized danger was near. The Holy Knights didn’t get a single chance to shout or defend themselves before they fell.

“Good. Now that we’ve disposed of the ones responsible for watching the surroundings, it’s time to eliminate all the Holy Knights patrolling the perimeter,” Yuan mused, a wide grin forming on his face as his eyes locked onto the scattered Holy Knights guarding the Holy Church.
