MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1511 - 1511: Myriad Prodigies: Breaking the Chains

“…Just because you already fought against me once doesn’t mean you fought me in my strongest state.”

Walking up to the two with an arquebus formed with [Ephemeral Armaments] on his shoulder, Valyr looked back at Erika with a calm expression as those words left his mouth.

After seeing Julian and the others work together with the participants he recruited in clearing the sea of vines surrounding them, the young man decided to go against his earlier words to Lunarossa and help her out in the fight against Erika.

Activating all of the status buffs in his arsenal, Valyr cleared out more of the sea of vines surrounding the entire group as he watched the director fight the Lesser Sin from afar.

Then, seeing that Lunarossa was at an impasse with her attacks, it was only then did the young man make his move, activating [Descent of the True Wyvern] before taking out the Supreme Blade of Primeval Flames from his spatial bracelet to activate [Primeval Immolation].

Whoosh!

Although he had effectively limited himself on how long he could stay in his strongest state, the young man immediately got to work, making use of the quirk he found through [Ephemeral Armaments] to instill the thought of a formidable foe into Erika.

Shattering all of her defenses with great ease, Valyr gradually moved closer and closer towards the two, purposefully timing his attacks to instill even more fear into the Lesser Sin.

In the end, it was only until he revealed himself to Erika did the Lesser Sin realize that her thoughts regarding the attacks had been misguided all this time.

All because the young man she underestimated to only match her previous self… could actually stand toe to toe to her in terms of strength.

“…I can only maintain this state for around 30 more seconds.” Continuing to stare at Erika with a calm expression, Valyr sent a message to Lunarossa through his mind, prompting the latter to briefly glance back at him before sending an answer in return.

“What do you need me to do?”

“Once I give you a signal, distract her for as long as possible,” responded the young man, his eyes briefly flashing with determination on a certain matter.

“Understood.”

With the two swiftly agreeing on what they needed to do next, Valyr took the initiative to start it as he looked at Erika with slight disappointment. “Did you really think I’ve shown you all of my cards back when we previously fought?”

“It’s just like the fact that your true level of power is the peak of Rank 7,” he continued, slowly shaking his head. “I’ve only shown you the surface of what I’m capable of.”

“…And you’re telling me that this is the limits of your capabilities?” Faintly suppressing the fury she held for the young man, Erika looked back at the young man with a sneer.

“Heh. If that’s all you got, then you would only be able to injure me at most.”

“…Once again.” Valyr could only smile in return. “Just because you already fought against me once…”

“Doesn’t mean you’ve seen me in my strongest state.”

‘[Soul Fusion].’

Showing no hesitation in the midst of battle, Valyr went ahead and activated the only status buff he had yet to cast, instantly propelling his aura to a level that far surpassed what Lunarossa was able to achieve.

Swoosh!

In a mere instant, the young man felt an insane amount of strength course throughout his body, only to be amplified even further thanks to the various buffs that were currently activated.

Whoosh!

By the time he’d gotten his newfound strength all under control, he glanced at Erika once more.

Though this time, his gaze now gave the Lesser Sin a feeling of intimidation.

“Now!”

Shouting all of a sudden, Valyr went ahead and shot a few bullets with his translucent arquebus before putting a bit of distance between the two.

“[Meltierre-style Heavenly Sword Array]!”

Taking the young man’s shout as the signal she was waiting for, Lunarossa accompanied the bullets the young man shot, doing her utmost to distract Erika as much as possible.

“[Million Sword Anthem]!”

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Forgoing the safety of her own health in her next attack, Lunarossa poured both her health and energy into her blade, slamming it down towards Erika as an incessant number of blades began to form around the two of them.

Then, at the very instant her blade made contact with the Lesser Sin, the conjured blades soon came raining down on the latter, forcing Erika’s entire attention to reduce the damage she received as much as possible.

‘…There’s no stopping now.’

After confirming that Lunarossa could buy him some time, Valyr went ahead and took out the talisman Vaughn gave him from his spatial bracelet, inwardly lamenting the fact that he had wasted two of his requests solely because he wasn’t strong enough to defeat his foes.

‘No time to think about that.’ Shaking his head to remove the nonsensical thoughts that surfaced, the young man swiftly infused a bit of his energy into the talisman, his senses still focused on the fight that was going on between the two.

Swish!

Feeling the talisman make contact with an otherworldly realm in less than a second, Valyr hastily sent his message to Vaughn.

‘Need help killing an enemy. Peak Rank 7 Lesser Sin from the Underworld. At least 5 times stronger than the Vessel of Envy from before.’

‘Whoa there. No need to be so hasty.’ Not even a second after sending his message, the young man received a reply from the man he was looking for, the latter’s calm voice echoing in his mind.

‘Unlike a Vessel, a Lesser Sin has sentience. You can take a bit of time to think over your request.’

‘But I don’t have that kind of time,’ replied Valyr, a hint of trepidation seeping into his voice as he continued to watch Lunarossa fight Erika. ‘I’ve kept the Lesser Sin at bay for now, but it’s only a matter of time before the one helping me do that dies from their attacks.’

‘…I see.’ Remaining silent for a short bit, Vaughn eventually responded to his words. ‘Since that’s the case, just give me the go signal and I’ll solve your issue no problem.’

‘Yes, yes,’ answered the young man in a hurry. ‘Just tell me what I need to say and I’ll shout it in a heartbeat.’

‘…Are you really sure you wanna use your final request on this?’ asked Vaughn one last time, finding a waste for his requests to be used this way.

With that, he decided to give the young man a small hint.

‘You do know you have a way to defeat someone from the Underworld, right?’

‘…I do?’ Valyr paused, the nervousness and trepidation he felt at that moment immediately disappearing without a trace.

‘Remember the Shards of Defiance?’ asked Vaughn in return, prompting the young man to finally nod in response.

‘There lies the answer to your current problem.’

‘The Shards of Defiance…’ The young man thought to himself, closing his eyes as he shifted his senses inward to look at the recesses of his mind.

There, he quickly found the agglomeration of shards he’d kept at the back of his head this entire time, only to recall the sensation that once beckoned him back when he was still doing the Four Pillars’ Inheritance.

‘Break the chains…’

However, unlike before where the power came to him all of a sudden, he now had the ability to call upon its strength on a whim, all thanks to the tip Vaughn had given to him on the matter.

“Huu…”

Taking in a deep breath as he opened his eyes, Valyr began to charge at Erika once more, closing the distance between them as he aimed his arquebus at her.

Whoosh!

Conjuring a bullet into his translucent arquebus, he then let out a soft exhale as he activated a skill he hadn’t activated in a long time.

“[Eyes of the Sagacious One].”

“[Breaking the Primordial Chains].”
