MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1415 - 1415: The Great Veldanyr Labyrinth (2)

“…Alright.”

“Now that the minimum number of groups has been fulfilled, let me talk about the great opportunity your groups have obtained.”

“Welcome… to the Great Veldanyr Labyrinth,” said the voice, its tone jubilant. “This labyrinth was created by the great Kanreban with the hopes of increasing the chances of people on Veldanyr to become Myths.”

“For your information, the great Kanreban is currently at the peak of Rank 10, being infinitesimally close to breaking through and becoming a bona fide Divine-level being.”

“As for the voice you’re currently listening to, just call me Alpha,” added the voice, its words gradually going off on a tangent from the initial topic.

“I am the 391st artificial puppet Master has created, giving me the responsibility of guarding and presiding over this labyrinth.”

‘…No way.’ While continuing to listen to Alpha blabber on about itself and the master it served, Valyr felt as if a massive earthquake occurred in mind the moment he heard the name of the dungeon they found themselves in.

‘The dungeon we entered… was actually the one I was thinking about?’

Though he wasn’t part of the lucky few that were able to participate in the dungeon in his past life, Valyr still had a decent amount of information about the dungeon from his friends that participated in it.

However, due to them being bound by a restrictive oath, his friends weren’t able to tell him the things in the dungeon outright, having to circumvent around it and rely on context clues in the hopes that he would understand what they were saying.

Thankfully, the oath did not restrict them from telling him about the name of the dungeon they explored, which was why Valyr reacted that way the moment he heard it.

Taking in a deep breath to calm himself down, the young man’s eyes soon gleamed with excitement as he began to rummage as much information he had on the dungeon as possible in his memories.

At the same time, Alpha finally realized that it had gone on a monologue on how it spent the time waiting for the various groups to appear, prompting it to clear its throat as it quickly brought the topic of the conversation back to what it was supposed to be.

“Apologies. It’s been a long time since I’ve last interacted with other people.” The voice let out a slightly awkward chuckle. “Now, where was I?”

“Oh, right. The rules of the Great Veldanyr Labyrinth.”

“Considering that there are 8 groups currently within the labyrinth, a total of 512 rooms are accessible to all of you.”

“Now, the rooms that you have spawned in are special. In this labyrinth, the room you spawned in can be considered your groups’ first territory.”

“With that being said, your goal in this labyrinth is to expand the territory of your groups as much as possible.”

“Now, you might be wondering. How would we go about doing that?” As these words echoed throughout the labyrinth, Alpha briefly let out a chuckle.

“For the first group, this is why I’ve barred you from entering the adjacent rooms before the other groups appeared.”

“The rooms that haven’t been occupied are free for any group to claim,” said Alpha, dispelling the questions some of the people in Valyr’s group had earlier. “Of course, claiming a room is not easy.”

“You’ll have to kill the enemies that spawn within the room first before you are eligible to claim the room as your group’s territory.”

“Now, is it possible for another group to claim the room another group has already claimed? The answer to that is yes.”

“However, instead of facing against spawned enemies to claim it, you’ll have to face a strong monster whose strength is proportional to the number of rooms claimed by the opposing group.”

Continuing to listen to Alpha’s explanation of how clearing the labyrinth worked, Valyr slowly began to summarize and list down all of the things his group needed to do.

‘The most important part to getting the most out of the labyrinth is to claim as much of the rooms as possible,’ thought the young man to himself.

‘Not only is it because having more rooms makes it harder for other groups to try and claim it back…’

‘But also because having more rooms increased the amount of Labyrinth Points the group gets every certain period.’

By the time Alpha was done talking about how the labyrinth worked, it then proceeded to talk about the reward system, which involved a currency called Labyrinth Points.

According to the puppet, Labyrinth Points were mainly obtained through either killing enemies in unoccupied rooms, defeating the boss monsters of enemy groups, or passively earning them through the rooms already claimed.

With these Labyrinth Points, Alpha told them that they would be able to exchange them for items and treasures that were incredibly hard to find in Veldanyr.

Although the puppet told them that they would be able to look at the list of rewards only after it was done with its explanation, the young man already had a couple of items in mind that he wanted to get thanks to his treasure trove of memories.

‘Let’s just hope the other groups haven’t realized how valuable those items are.’

“…And I think that’s pretty much everything you need to know,” said Alpha at the end of its explanation, feeling like it had covered all bases and answered all possible questions the groups had.

“With that being said, for the first group that entered this labyrinth, you now have half an hour to claim as many rooms as possible.”

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

Just as those words echoed through the room Valyr’s group was in, a timer appeared above one of the paths all of a sudden, slowly counting down the 30 minutes Alpha had given to them.

Knowing that this was the massive head start it had promised them, the young man hastily gathered everyone’s attention as he informed them of the plan he had in mind.

“To make the most out of these 30 minutes, we’ll be splitting the guild into three teams.”

“Make sure that each team has a group for reconnaissance, a group for healing and support, a group for defense, and a group for dealing damage.”

At those words, the members of the guild swiftly arranged themselves, with some of them making use of the experience they got from the world raid to their advantage.

With everyone wanting to make the most out of the head start given to them, it only took a few minutes for the three teams to be formed, with each one focusing one of the paths available to them.

“Alright, everyone,” wrote Valyr in their guild’s chat.

“Best of luck…”

“And let’s give those other groups hell.”
