As those words left Thomas’ mouth, he and the other three looked at him with excitement and awe in their faces.

“Although you were unlucky at the start of the ninth round, you were still able to turn the tables around near the end!”

“I was just lucky,” replied the young man with a bit of laughter. “After all, all of them are at least one class rank above me in strength.”

“Yet you have a skill that allows you to close that gap,” answered Lucques in return, to which Thomas and the others nodded in agreement. “Speaking of which, what kind of quest did you do to get a skill like that?”

“Let’s just say it took me a lot of effort to get it,” said Valyr, subtly avoiding any further talk about [Soul Fusion] as much as possible.

“But then again…” However, when he thought about how it was a good idea to teach them a skill that allowed them to boost their stats even further, the young man decided to double down on that idea.

With that, Valyr softly discussed the concepts of [Limit Break] to Thomas and the others, knowing that both players and non-players were now paying attention to his each and every move.

Making sure that the information he shared with them just now wouldn’t reach the ears of any other player for the meantime, the young man soon gave the four a slight smile in response to the shocked expressions they gave him in return.

“You… there was actually a skill like that?”

“I mean… if the other VRMMOs we played in the past had it, why can’t this one?” said Valyr as he shrugged his shoulders at Thomas. “Of course, because of how powerful it is, it’s a bit more tedious to get.”

“Even still,” said Thomas in response. “The fact that you could evolve it to give you a higher boost is still insane.”

“Speaking of which, do you know how high of a boost it reaches when you evolve it?”

“I don’t know,” replied Valyr as he slightly shook his head. “However, I think a 30% boost to all stats is easy to achieve with the skill.”

Just as Thomas and the others began to look at him with further shock from those words, a familiar voice resounded from the center of the coliseum once more.

“…To those in the final top 9 ranking, please make your way to the podium.”

“Oh. Time for the awarding ceremony,” said Valyr in response, grinning as he bade farewell to the four for the meantime.

Making use of his movement skill to speed up his travel, it did not take long for the young man to arrive at the podium, with about half of the people making up the top 9 also arriving around the same time as him.

After waiting for a couple more minutes, the 9 that made up the nine prodigies of Astella were finally at the podium, standing in the order of the ranking.

“As the announcer and host of this tournament, I am proud to tell everyone here that the nine people standing here today shall represent Astella City in the upcoming Myriad Prodigies Tournament.”

As these words left Clive’s mouth, the young man briefly swept his gaze over the nine, only for it to stop and linger around Valyr for a bit longer.

Taking note of this, Valyr noticed that the young man was giving him an odd expression at that moment, which made him wonder why he looked at him that way.

However, he was forced to shelf the thought for the meantime as the awarding ceremony kicked into high gear.

“To recognize the efforts they’ve put into reaching their current strength, as well as the efforts they’ve put into obtaining their current ranking, let us move onto the bestowal of rewards.”

“As a reward from Astella’s Three Houses, those from the 7th to 9th ranking shall receive a lump sum of 250 gold coins each.”

Just as those words reached the edge of the coliseum, a trio of attendants hastily moved in front of Valyr and the two, giving each of them satchels filled to the brim with gold coins.

Making sure that the satchel he received did contain that much money, the young man soon stored the satchel in his spatial bracelet for the meantime as he wondered how much the higher rankings would receive in comparison.

“For those at the 4th to 6th ranking, they shall receive a lump sum of 500 gold coins each from Astella’s Three Houses, while those ranking 1st to 3rd shall receive a lump sum of 750 gold coins each.”

‘That’s a lot of gold,’ thought Valyr to himself, letting out a faint whistle in surprise as he watched the same attendants give the other six far larger satchels than the one he received.

After making sure that all nine of them had received their first reward, Clive faintly nodded at them before moving onto the second reward.

“As for the government of Astella City, they shall confer those from the 7th to 9th ranking a Lord-rank title that applies throughout the Astella Region.”

“On the other hand, those from the 4th to 6th ranking shall be conferred a Baronet-rank title.”

“Lastly, those from the 1st to 3rd ranking shall be conferred a Baron-rank title that applies throughout the Astella Region.”

Hearing that the nine standing before them instantly turned into people of nobility, a great portion of the crowd began to cheer for them as the nine underwent the process of receiving their new nobility rank.

Ding!

[Note that this title only applies within the Astella Region.]

Briefly checking the benefits that came along with becoming a noble of the Astella Region, Valyr was forced to push his current thoughts to the side as yet another round of rewards left the announcer’s mouth.

“As for Astella City’s final reward to the nine standing at the podium, every one of them has been given the right to access the city’s Imperial Treasury, giving them the opportunity to choose either one skill, one weapon, or one treasure from it.”

At those words, the crowd began to cheer once more, with almost everyone in the top nine already beginning to think about what they’d grab from the treasury because of it.

However, just as Valyr thought that the awarding ceremony was finally over, Clive soon uttered a few words that left the young man looking at the latter in slight shock.

“And lastly, as a bonus reward given by the Imperial Alchemist of the Meltierre Empire directly, every one in the top 9 shall be given an opportunity to request an item from the Imperial Alchemist herself.”
