MMORPG: RISE OF THE PRIMORDIAL GODSMITH

Chapter 1355 - 1355: Nine Prodigies of Astella (12)

Screech!!!

Whoosh!

As the tip of Valyr’s spear burst out into azure flames, the assassin hastily used the momentum his scimitars had accumulated to roll forward, barely avoiding the strike from hitting him.

Yet, just as the man thought that he was safe from the young man’s attack, Valyr’s spear began to curve around all of a sudden, striking him at almost the same spot he hit the young man in their first battle.

Bang!

With Valyr’s stats greatly empowered thanks to [Soul Fusion], it was no surprise that the assassin was sent tumbling on the ground for a few meters after that, rendering both the arbiter and the crowd watching the fight completely speechless.

“…”

“…Did…”

“…Did you see that?!”

Then, as if everyone finally understood what was going on, almost everyone in the crowd began to loudly cheer for Valyr, making it seem as if they believed in the young man’s capabilities all this time.

“Holy shit…!” As for Thomas and the others, the four of them watched Valyr’s attack just now with widened eyes, their mouths wide agape from a complete loss for words.

“Where the hell did he learn an attack like that?!” asked Thomas after some time, hoping that the three beside him would at least have a slight idea to the answer.

Unfortunately, just like him, the other three were also clueless.

Then again, whether or not they knew where their friend found the time and opportunity to learn such an attack, the four of them became more hopeful of Valyr’s victory after seeing what he pulled off.

After all, the four of them witnessed their friend’s meteoric rise throughout the tournament, only to then be met by two massive obstacles in the form of the ninth round’s first and second parts.

Because of that, their excitement was somewhat dampened, their minds already believing in the discussions others were having about how Valyr wouldn’t be able to enter the top 9.

Yet, contrary to everyone’s expectations, Valyr decided to show that he did have the capabilities to fight back against his opponents when all hope was lost.

And with that, it was no surprise that the entire crowd made sure to focus all their attention on the fight that would unfold.

“…I’ve got to say…” Stopping his momentum with the help of his scimitars, the assassin stood up as he looked at Valyr with a slightly pained expression. “You’ve caught me off guard there.”

“I did tell you before.” Moving his spear to the side, the young man looked at his opponent with a faint smile on his face. “I wouldn’t be too sure about your earlier words.”

“You’ve definitely given me a reason to believe in that now.” The man faintly nodded in agreement.

“However… do you really think you’re the only one who could do that?”

Swoosh!

Just as those words left the man’s mouth, a dark aura soon began to radiate out of his body, only for dark energy to then envelop the man’s body in its entirety.

Watching the man undergo through his transformation, Valyr slightly tightened his grip on the spear as he was faintly reminded of the Vessel of Envy he fought alongside Riekan back then.

Though, unlike the Vessel of Envy, he only felt a slight bit of intimidation from the man’s presence.

If anything, he felt like it was more doable for him to fight the man in his current state than the Vessel of Envy in his other identity.

‘But I do have to hurry it up, though,’ reminded Valyr to himself, deciding to take the initiative whilst his opponent was still busy with his transformation.

“[Four Paths Azure War Arts].”

Narrowing the distance between them to just a few meters, Valyr hastily transferred his momentum into his spear as he swung upward.

“[Stampede of the Azure Tiger]!”

Whoosh!

In response, a small group of azure tigers manifested in front of him, only for all of them to then charge at his opponent without hesitation.

“[Abyss Reformation].”

Though he didn’t feel much danger from the tigers charging at him, the assassin did think they would become a hindrance to his victory if he were to let them be.

With that, the man swiftly placed his hand on the ground and imbued the same dark energy covering his body into it, turning part of the ground around him into dark quicksand.

Blurb… blurb…!

Because of that, the advances of the azure tigers were quickly stopped as the entire group easily fell prey to what was easily an avoidable attack.

“[Four Paths Azure Magic Arts].” Having already expected his opponent to retaliate against the tigers in some way, Valyr softly clicked his tongue as he pushed his mana circuit to its very limits.

“[Azure Phoenix’s Lament].”

Screech!!!

Pointing his hands towards the sky, a massive azure cloud quickly began to form high above the stage.

Then, just as his opponent thought that the spell was a diversion of some sort, azure phoenixes soon began to rain down from the massive cloud, forcing the man to put a bit more of his attention to expanding the skill he just conjured.

Whoosh!

Making use of the opportunity he’d given himself with the attack, Valyr closed the gap between the two of them once more as he struck out with his spear yet again.

“[Strike of the Azure Dragon]!”

Sadly, now that he was starting to get used to Valyr’s attacks at this point, the assassin swiftly nullified the attack by swinging his scimitar in response.

Clang!

Using the counterforce from the clash to distance himself from his opponent, the young man hastily followed up his offensive by casting a magic spell near the man.

“[Azure Dragon’s Claw]!”

Swoosh!

Feeling a hint of danger from the claw manifesting near him, the assassin quickly moved to the side of the attack before slashing out against it with his scimitar.

Swoosh!

Yet, before it could even hit the claw, the man’s blade stopped just a few centimeters away from the claw, causing him to look around in slight panic to figure out why that happened.

Fortunately, it did not take long for him to obtain his answer as laughter escaped Valyr’s mouth, giving him enough of a clue to finally take notice of the blue-white strands wrapping around his body.

Feeling a massive binding force coming from the strands themselves, the man went ahead and tried his hardest to escape the strands, even going so far as to use the skills he’d yet to use in any of his battles thus far.

However, just as the man had successfully broken one of the strands holding him in place, Valyr, who had long activated [Arcane Authority] by that point, had already sent a series of attacks the man’s way.

“…[Orb of Apyrhan].”

Which included at least five blazing orbs…

“…[Azure Dragon’s Claw].”

…And around three dragon claws.
