Chapter 4738: Silver Wolf Appears
Hao’er stared at the mercenaries, his mouth slightly open, before he called out in a cold voice, “Silver Wolf!” The moment the name left his lips, a ray of light seemed to emanate from his body. With a powerful leap, a majestic silver wolf materialized directly in front of the startled mercenaries.
“Awooooooooooo!” A resounding wolf howl ripped through the air, and the creature’s immense aura immediately spread outwards, instantly engulfing the surrounding area. The powerful and terrifying aura of a Super Sacred Beast washed over them. Even the mercenaries, who possessed extraordinary strength, turned pale and froze in place, unable to move. Some of the weaker ones completely lost control of their legs and crumpled to their knees.
“Super Sacred Beast…” They stared in utter shock, their eyes wide with disbelief, at the creature that had appeared before them. In that precise moment, they finally grasped why the little brat had led them to this location. It was clear now: he had summoned the Super Sacred Beast with the explicit intention of killing them!
“Whoosh!”
Hao’er took advantage of their shock and the overwhelming presence of the silver wolf that held them captive. A long sword appeared in his hand, and a fierce burst of sword energy swept out as he moved. His small figure moved with deadly efficiency, like a demon, relentlessly taking their lives.
Meanwhile, the Heaven’s Sun Sect elders and their group, who were traveling in the opposite direction, couldn’t help but stop and look back when the distinct wolf howls reached them.
“Elder, what’s wrong?” asked the middle-aged man, noticing the elder’s sudden pause.
“Didn’t you hear that?” The elder frowned, turning to him.
The middle-aged man offered a sheepish smile. “I heard it, but it’s just wolves howling. They should be far away from us.”
“No, these wolf howls are a little different,” the elder mused, “and besides, we’ve already passed through this area; there shouldn’t be any more fierce beasts.” He pondered for a moment, then his expression suddenly changed as if he’d realized something significant. “Let’s go! We need to go back and take a look!” As soon as he finished speaking, he quickly darted forward, heading back the way they came. The people behind him, unsure of what was happening, exchanged glances and swiftly followed.
On the other side, Hao’er wiped the blood from his sword and put it away. He then proceeded to systematically take all the valuable items from the mercenaries’ bodies. He instructed the Silver Wolf to pile the corpses together, then retrieved some corpse-dissolving water from his space and sprinkled it over the bodies.
Just as he observed the corpses dissolving into pools of blood seeping into the ground, the Silver Wolf’s voice came from behind him.
“Someone’s coming, and there are quite a few of them.”
“You go back first,” Hao’er instructed, allowing the wolf to return to his space. He then quickly put away his remaining things and departed the scene. As a Super Sacred Beast, the Silver Wolf’s howl was extraordinary. While the disciples of the Heaven’s Sun Sect might not have been able to discern its true nature, the old man certainly could. To avoid any potential trouble, Hao’er even took the precaution of cleaning up the corpses on the ground.
Shortly after Hao’er left, the elder of the Heaven’s Sun Sect arrived. However, upon reaching the clearing, he found only subtle traces on the ground and the lingering scent of blood in the air.
“Elder? How is it? Did you find anything?” The middle-aged man and his disciples hurried to catch up, looking around but seeing nothing conclusive.
The elder thoughtfully stared at the ground, stroking his beard. “Someone must have just died here,” he stated, “but the body has been disposed of.”
“Could it be that the mercenaries killed that kid?” the middle-aged man inquired, “and then destroyed the body to cover their tracks and prevent his family from finding out?”
