Chapter 1913: Entering Into Memories
He had been a bully.
And he had been bullied.
He hurt people and people hurt him.
And he grows up and try to be better. But trying to be better in a world that did not forgive is a hard thing.
His mistake, the world mistake, the people mistake, the society mistake all converge and he had try his best.
All he could see was a dark tunnel that has no end.
And that insecurity still is here.
Alsurt was the first being that truly acknowledged him. Outside of his friends, and his new family.
Someone who sees him more than what he sees himself. Someone who believe in him
“Alsurt” And Azief could not help but smile.
Alsurt teaches him many things
Alsurt did not teach him much about magic but more about the knowledge of the Omniverse, the beings that roams it, and most importantly the rules that he must take concern
Azief could understand now that even Alsurt probably could not expect what would happen to his fate and destiny.
He might see some traces of it but he could not have expected all of the things that would happen next
Why did such a being like Alsurt could not see it?
At that time, when he first understood this causal effect, he too did not understand it
Alsurt truly did not know.
No matter how he recalled that memory when he was with Alsurt, Alsurt did say that he see great thing from him. Alsurt did not hide that he could see his destiny.
But he did not see all of it
At that time, he did not understand it
He understand it now. Because when you are in the tribulation of fate and destiny you would not know it.
At that time, the heavenly secret would be covered up. Unless you are truly free from all restraint, it is hard to see through it.
The tribulations would confound you and only the purest of hearts could see a glimpse of the real truth
But how many people could really have a pure heart? And even then, most pure hearted person would rarely be included in the tribulation.
Alsurt and Odin then talk to each other.
No, it is more that Alsurt talks and Odin listen. Azief even felt like that Alsurt is eager to talk. And then Azief smile
“Loneliness is a different kind of affliction”
It is understandable.
Even an immortal being like Alsurt would be bored if he had nothing to talk about. And from what Azief got from Alsurt, he is a very joyful giant.
Even when he is imprisoned by Odin, he did not let that let him down.
He was used to it.
And when Azief was with Alsurt his attitude and his demeanour is very different when he is with others.
Azief is also actually a chatterbox.
He would talk a lot
But his image as a stern ,rarely talking image is also not wrong.
It is only when he is with people he is comfortable with, he show this side. If not his face is as hard as stone, there would rarely be a smile and there would rarely be conversation
When he was with Alsurt, they talk a lot sometimes even things that have nothing to do with secrets or some knowledge.
Empty talk to fill the time.
Like when he used to talk with his friend in some cafe
And it is only when he is someone he is comfortable with, he could do this
Empty talk have no meaning.
It is just blurting out anything that crosses one mind. Sometimes, to vent, sometimes to just clear the head from some things that is pointless
But the result is a lighter heart and a lighter mind.
Odin seems very patient listening to every word that Alsurt said
The giant talk to him which means right now he is talking to Odin since he is in Odin memories
But it really felt like he is Odin right now. Yet, at the same time, he has the consciousness of himself. It is a weird feeling
It is like his mind is split into two. One that is living Odin life in this memory and the other a spectator that observers everything
Odin listens to Alsurt talk and he did not seem to rush to explain why he is there. And after seems like a thousand years, Alsurt has finished talking
Azief also realized something that when Odin and Alsurt is talking, they talk in an ancient language.
A sound could have ten thousand meanings but the meaning is understood by Odin.
And if Odin spoke, Alsurt would also understand it. Each of their words seems to contain so many meanings that one would find it hard to interpret what they are actually talking about
If not for the fact that Azief is inside Odin minds right now, he would not understand most of what Alsurt and Odin is talking about
If they write things, a stroke might have different meaning depending on the intention.
If it is written on Earth, no one could decode it.
Because language should have a root. But how could this language spoken by these beings and written by these being could be understood without magic?
Alsurt finished talking. Right now, Azief is looking and seeing all of this through Odin memories and he also felt a bit of Odin feeling
Then Odin ask
“How many of it was a lie and how many of it is the truth? Or did you learn from Loki and mix the truth with lies?” Alsurt frowned and snorted
“Odin. I have no need to lie to you. I disdain to do such thing. If I don’t want to talk to you, I would simply not say anything”
Azief could feel Odin wariness.
He did not show it to Alsurt but that feeling is present.
Odin is afraid of Alsurt.
And when Azief think about it, that would only make sense
Odin has many enemies
Most of his enemies are no longer there. A good enemy is an enemy that is no longer exist. Which means any enemies Odin meet, he would finish them
Some are tortured. But none has this kind of punishment
Alsurt must be some badass for him to be tied to the Yggdrasil like this. That is what he felt
Because the chains on Alsurt body seems to have boundless and infinite energy
Azief rarely use infinite to describe a power source. But that is what he felt when he felt the energy of that tree. The feeling of boundless infinity.
And there is another reason why Odin feel afraid and wary.
And that reason is because the stake is high.
He could not afford to make mistake.
And if Alsurt lies to him, if the first move is the wrong move, then there is a great chance for him to crazies in the gutter in the middle
Then he would be just another chess piece in a chess game that determines the fate of the Omniverse.
He surely could not accept that.
So, Odin must and will make sure that Alsurt did not lie to him.
Not in this matter
Azief watch this memory like he is Odin and he feel himself smiling and shaking his head.
“If this was any other matter, I could not care less if you lie or tell the truth.’ Odin paused for a second and then look at the stars and the planets in the distance
He then said with a very solemn voice
“But, this is a very high-stake bet. Nothing could be left to chance. One wrong information and I could make the wrong choice”
“When there is this kind of uncertainty, while it is very terrifying, it is also very thrilling” Odin said.
Azief did not know what uncertainty Odin is talking about.
And he could not guess about it. But it seems Alsurt seems to understand it.
Odin and Alsurt they talked succinctly.
Never revealing in words what they know or did not know, keeping it close to their chest
Or maybe, this is part of Odin calculations.
After all, Odin did not hesitate to give this part of his memory to him
Giving a memory to someone else is a very risky behaviour.
Even more so when you have a great scheme and plan.
Because a great mind reader could deduce the plan and even do a counterattack in that memory to reconstruct the true feelings and emotion of the one giving the memories
But mind reading is not Azief specialties.
He could read it but it is not his expertise. His path is Perfection but this did not mean he is perfect in all paths and ways
And not to mention Odin realm is higher than him. If he tried, Azief believe he would get backlashed by the psionic force
Odin is known to have great illusion power.
With Odin realm of power in a level that Azief could not even touch at this point of time, Azief did not hold any illusion that he could outwit the illusionist that is Odin
So, he obediently just watch the memories playing out without doing any action
