Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 995 - 995: What happened inside the room?

Vesperine gasped for air, her legs kicking slightly as she struggled in vain. Xara’s fingers clamped around her neck with crushing force, her grip so tight it felt like she could snap Vesperine’s spine without a moment’s hesitation.

That was how furious she was!

Xara’s eyes blazed with unfiltered rage. She was beyond furious—utterly humiliated and betrayed.

Who wouldn’t be?

After all, this girl had used magic to manipulate her—twisting her emotions, making her act like a cheap slut in front of the man she loved… her beloved.

How dare she?

How dare this filthy thing do that to her?

If it weren’t for the fact that her son had feelings for this girl—if not for his love—Xara would have ended her right then and there, snapped her neck and tossed her lifeless body like trash.

“How dare you use your disgusting magic on me, you filthy little bitch!!” Xara shouted, her voice echoing with rage.

Vesperine coughed, struggling to breathe. She managed to choke out in a raspy, trembling voice, “W-What…? Hah… Cough… I tried to help you, woman! It was you who betrayed your family—not me. Cough… You should be grateful!”

“Grateful?” Xara spat directly into her face, eyes burning with disgust. “Fucking whore…”

With a growl, she flung Vesperine to the ground with brutal force.

Thud!

Vesperine crashed onto the floor, her back aching as she let out a grunt. She winced but managed to push herself up slightly, glaring daggers at Xara from the ground.

Xara sneered, towering over her. “I see it now. You bitch—what the fuck have you done to my son? What kind of vile magic did you cast on him?!”

She raised her foot, aiming a vicious kick at Vesperine’s stomach—but the girl vanished from under her in an instant.

In a blink, Vesperine reappeared, now seated casually on the bed, legs crossed, as if the last thirty seconds hadn’t happened. Her breathing was still slightly ragged, and her fingers gently rubbed her bruised neck.

Xara narrowed her eyes, slightly surprised by the speed. She turned, slowly, to face her again.

“I didn’t use any magic on him,” Vesperine said tiredly, her voice strained but defiant. “I love him.”

“Don’t you dare say those words again!” Xara snapped furiously, her aura almost crackling with rage.

Vesperine simply shrugged, her fingers still gently massaging her neck. “It’s the truth. Whether you like it or not.” She gave an annoyed sigh. “Man… you’re rough. You nearly crushed my damn windpipe.”

Xara took a step forward again, but Vesperine raised her hand sharply, eyes suddenly cold.

“If you move one more inch… I won’t hesitate to expose the truth about you. Mind it.”

Xara froze.

Her lips twitched in fury. “You rotten succubus… There’s no way in hell I’ll let someone like you take my son.”

Vesperine tilted her head slightly, letting out a soft, almost mocking laugh. “Succubus? Me?” she chuckled with a mused glint in her eyes. “Oh, you flatter me, really.”

Xara’s expression darkened further, not amused.

Vesperine let out a slow breath. Her gaze shifted, becoming sharp—vengeful. “You know what? I’ve decided. I’m going to tell him everything. The truth. About you, your past, your sins. I’ll break the bond between you and your son… forever.”

Her tone was venomous, her eyes burning with resentment. She was done being treated like trash by this old woman who played the role of a saint—when she had a delicious little side piece of her own.

The hypocrisy was unbearable.

Of course Vesperine was furious—humiliated. And now? She wanted revenge.

Xara’s lips curled, but she still tried to hold her ground.

“Whatever,” she hissed. “It doesn’t matter. One way or another, the truth will come out eventually… but it’ll be me who speaks it to my family—not a corrupted bitch like you.”

She smirked, flipping her hair arrogantly.

“And when that day comes… I’ll make damn sure you crawl out of this house with your tail between your legs. Don’t even think about coming back after my son. He deserves better, you fucking slut!”

With those final venomous words, Xara turned on her heel and stormed toward the door.

Vesperine sat still, watching her retreat with an unreadable expression. Her jaw clenched slightly, lips trembling—not from fear, but from the weight of the risk she had taken.

That secret… The one only she knew. If it ever came to light… then all her plans, everything she had worked toward, would fall apart.

She bit her lower lip in frustration.

‘Dammit… Maybe I shouldn’t have used my powers on her. Tsk.’

She clicked her tongue bitterly, her mood souring. Things had been going so perfectly… until that stupid mistake.

Now the whole game had changed—and not in her favour.

‘What should I do now…?’ Vesperine bit her nails with a mix of worry and sheer annoyance written all over her face. Everything had been going so smoothly—so perfectly—until this sudden mess.

She couldn’t wrap her head around it. Why had that woman flown into such a rage out of nowhere?

All Vesperine had done was offer her a chance at redemption, a way to make up for the betrayal she’d inflicted on her own family… and yet—

She clenched her teeth, frustration boiling underneath her calm facade.

Just then—

“Is she gone?” came a voice from the bathroom.

Vesperine sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly. “Yeah… You can come out, Leon,” she answered tiredly.

The bathroom door creaked open as Leon stepped out, shirtless, his cheeks flushed and body still glistening slightly with heat. “Damn… we almost got caught,” he muttered, running a hand through his hair in relief. “Thank goodness…”

What were they doing in there?

Who knows~?

Leon looked over at Vesperine, his smile faltering slightly as he noticed the tension in her expression. “Is something wrong, baby?” he asked gently. He hadn’t caught much of what happened outside—only loud shouting and what sounded like someone getting slammed into the floor.

“Did she hurt you?” he asked, more worried now.

Vesperine shook her head slowly, her eyes softening. “No one can hurt me… not when you’re with me, Leon~” she purred, her tone shifting back to sultry as her fingers lazily began loosening her clothes. “Now… where were we?”

Leon’s blush deepened, heat rushing back to his cheeks. “Oh yeah~” he grinned. “But… what about Kai?”

“Tsk. His mother must’ve dragged him away. Annoying hag,” Vesperine muttered with a roll of her eyes.

Leon smirked, stepping closer. “That means… I get you all to myself now?”

“Of course, baby~” Vesperine winked playfully as she opened her arms, inviting him back in. Yet even as she leaned into him, her mind still flickered with unease. That confrontation with Xara… something about it left a lingering bitter taste.

Just then—

!~Ding~!

A soft mechanical chime echoed in her head.

[New Mission: Discover the Hidden Chamber of Xara and Expose it to Her Family]

[Reward: Kai Frostbald will hate his mother for eternity!]

Vesperine blinked. Her lips slowly curled into a devilish grin, “Interesting…”

“What?” Leon tilted his head, confused by the sudden shift in her expression.

Vesperine just gave a nonchalant shrug. Without answering, she pushed him down onto the bed and climbed on top of him, straddling his lap with a wicked smirk. “Shhh… let me ride my little dragon~”

Meanwhile…

Xara stomped furiously down the hallway, dragging Kai by the wrist like a storm in motion.

“M-Mom! Let me go! I need to be there—please!” Kai pleaded, trying to pull back.

But Xara’s grip was iron.

“Shut your damn mouth!!” she snapped, voice shaking with rage. “You’re never seeing that vile girl again!!”

Kai struggled, casting desperate glances over his shoulder. His heart ached with longing…

He cried out in frustration as he was hauled farther away.

‘NO FAIR!!’ he screamed in his mind, seething with jealousy.

Leon was probably getting all the fun right now while he got dragged away like a child.
