Nick had to see how the messages were formatted, sent, and presented first before faking one.
That was why he hadn’t interfered with the first one.
This message was even more detailed than the first one, and it gave direct and clear instructions.
Profit was of the highest importance.
However, the Zephyx generator must also continue to exist.
Operations should continue as normal, but the safety guards had to be inspected regularly.
The current output was perfect, and nothing should be changed.
They should just regularly check on their safety measures.
The safety measures were important since humanity had already proven to be incredibly dangerous.
Lifeforms with an inherent Soul tended to grow extremely quickly.
Profit was of the highest importance, but only as long as humanity was still suppressed.
If humanity managed to break out, the highest priority would be to kill all of them to prevent another costly war.
The resources wasted on the war would be greater than the resources harvested over thousands of years.
When the Representatives saw the message, they rewired their cortexes again with the new directive.
Once more, they became unified in their beliefs.
However, their beliefs were different from how they had been a couple of days ago.
The directive had changed.
Instead of returning to their little room, the Representatives sent a signal to the Strategists.
This was the signal Nick had been fishing for.
An hour later, several aliens left their rooms and traveled to the Strategists’ room.
The two Chief Engineers, the two Strategists, the two Chief Illusionists, the two Generals, and the two Representatives were inside the room.
The Representatives had asked for a meeting with the bosses.
When the meeting started, the Representatives sent their talking points to the Strategists, and the Strategists transmitted everything to the others.
Surprisingly, Nick also received the concept transmission.
Apparently, the Strategists spread the concepts across the room, not to the individuals.
Everyone inside the room would be able to “hear” the concepts.
After spreading the Representatives’ words, the Strategists shared their plans.
Nick was surprised when he received thousands of potential plans in an instant.
It included basically every possibility!
It was like the Strategists were just brainstorming and throwing everything they came up with against the wall to see what would stick.
The Representatives shot almost everything down, and after a couple of rounds of concept refinement, it was decided how they would proceed.
The Generals would sweep the Nightmare’s and the Null’s locations once per year to make sure that everything was still fine.
This wouldn’t cost a lot of Pure Energy.
Additionally, the Chief Engineers would regularly check up on the antimatter laser.
With that, the path forward was decided.
The meeting was adjourned, and everyone left the room.
This time, Nick followed the Chief Engineers.
The Chief Engineers were also in the Eighth Realm, allowing Nick to stay hidden while following them.
The two Chief Engineers left the cave and rapidly traveled across the surface of the moon.
Eventually, they stopped in front of a random spot on the bright side of the moon.
A moment later, a small opening appeared in the ground.
When that happened, Nick didn’t dare to move.
Originally, he wanted to follow the Chief Engineers to deal with the antimatter laser.
However, there was a big problem.
Inside a hall leading to the antimatter laser, the big General stood.
The fleshy cave around the antimatter laser was in the Ninth Realm, which meant Nick couldn’t get through it.
Nick had already known where the antimatter laser was, but he needed a way in.
He had thought that the Chief Engineers would be his way in, but he hadn’t known that one of the two Generals was standing guard in front of the only access point.
The General wasn’t standing on the moon’s surface but in a small hallway leading to a door, which led to the antimatter laser.
The only way Nick had been able to stay hidden during the meeting in front of the eyes of the Generals was because he didn’t move even a single bit.
As long as he didn’t move or do anything, nothing would happen.
But the same thing wasn’t true here.
Nick would need to pass by the General, and that was…
‘Impossible,’ Nick thought. ‘As long as he is here, I won’t be able to get to the antimatter laser.’
‘I also can’t manipulate the Representatives anymore.’
‘As soon as they have another disagreement, they will contact the Mother again, but that isn’t the issue.’
‘The issue is that they are going to ask the Strategists.’
‘Two disagreements in a row could just be a coincidence, but three is extremely suspicious.’
‘If another disagreement happens, they will most likely order the Generals to investigate everything, and they will find me.’
‘Additionally, I can’t see how I can rationalize moving the general away from the antimatter laser.’
‘It doesn’t cost any resources to keep him there.’
Then, Nick looked at the cave again.
‘Additionally, I can’t even penetrate the cave. Even if I wait for the General to leave, I won’t be able to get through there. I am powerful, but this is a Pure Energy organism.’
‘I’m not strong enough to destroy the cave.’
Nick remained in front of the cave for a long time, trying to come up with a solution.
Minutes passed.
Eventually, the Chief Engineers left the place again and went back to the cave.
Yet, Nick just remained here.
He was trying to think of a way in.
Hours passed.
‘It’s impossible,’ Nick thought.
‘I can’t think of a way in.’
‘There’s nothing I can do.’
‘I can only do something if they make a mistake, and they are not making any more mistakes.’
‘They are playing it perfectly, and I’m stuck with no solution.’
Nick remained silent as a feeling of acceptance entered him.
‘I understand.’
‘I know what I must do.’
‘Fine, I was willing to do it anyway.’
‘The 50% have come true.’
‘The False Prophet’s prophecy has come to pass.’
‘I will die here.’
‘At least I have already prepared for this.’
Nick looked at the distant portal leading to Earth.
’21 more days.’
‘The only solace is that I can look at the thing I wanted to protect my entire life during my last three weeks.’
