Nick received his information rather quickly.
Then, he sent several more basic questions and received an accurate answer for each.
After a round of asking questions, Nick traveled to a certain spot in the cave.
He couldn’t see into the cave since it was filled with Star Energy, but he knew what was beyond, thanks to the cave’s answers.
The next moment, Nick shifted through the cave with his Null body.
But he didn’t immediately exit from the other side.
Instead, he waited inside the cave and started to conjure a tiny bit of organic matter, which looked just like the cave.
The bit of organic matter was barely a couple of micrometers long and high, and nobody would even notice it, unless they focused on it.
Nick shrunk his body to fit into the tiny welt on the wall.
Then, Nick used his ability to create microscopic tunnels inside the cave before quickly moving them around.
This gave him small bits of perception, which formed an image when put together.
Nick found himself in a room filled with many kinds of biological machines.
According to the cave, this was a storage room for replacement machines, in case one of them died.
A moment later, Nick moved to the opening in the room.
Realistically speaking, there was no opening in the room since the walls parted whenever someone wanted to enter or exit.
However, this cave was not designed to split cells to create a hole for someone to pass through.
Instead, it simply expanded a tiny hole.
The way the “door” worked was similar to how an anus worked.
The only real difference was that the hole here was barely a couple of micrometers wide and could expand to a width of several meters.
Yet, a couple of micrometers was still big enough for Nick to pass through.
As soon as Nick reached the other side, he scanned his surroundings again.
The Star Energy in the surroundings moved constantly, and these tiny movements wouldn’t be noticed by anyone.
Nick could now see the majority of the cave.
‘There’s almost nobody there,’ Nick thought as he looked at the empty “streets”.
The reason for the emptiness was simply that there was not a lot to do.
The surrounding planets had been working fine for tens of thousands of years, and everything had already been perfected.
Well, it hadn’t been perfected, but it was good enough.
The Representatives would not allow any more energy to be wasted on further improving the machines.
They were good enough, and that was it.
So, the aliens had almost nothing to do.
Nick moved along the walls of the cave and entered another fleshy room through a tiny opening.
Inside the room, Nick saw a couple of floating eyes.
These were the normal Illusionists.
Several spheres of light were in the room, and the eyes focused on them.
From what Nick had learned, this was a room to check if the Sun was operating normally.
Any anomalous readings would be caught by the Illusionists and reported.
Nick didn’t even attempt to read their minds.
Illusionists were specialists in energy manipulation, and it was possible that Nick’s Zephyx would be picked up.
If there were only two Illusionists, Nick could try to overwhelm them before they sent an alarm, but this room had 20.
It was too risky.
‘But there’s something else I can do.’
Nick moved along the ground until he was below one of the shining spheres.
Then, he used his energy manipulation ability to change the sphere.
He told the sphere to report that some Pure Energy appeared in the location of the destroyed headquarters from Aegis.
The two eyes looking at this sphere didn’t noticeably react, but that was because there was no reason for them to have bodily language.
They definitely noticed, and Nick could see their reaction based on the wave of Pure Energy that just left them.
‘I might not be able to interact with them, but I can interact with their communication.’
Nick followed the wave of Pure Energy and left the room again.
He moved along the ground and quickly reached another fleshy room, which was smaller than the last one.
This one didn’t have an opening at all.
Nick could try forcing his way through, but that was too risky.
For the next couple of seconds, Nick felt waves of Pure Energy going in and out of the building.
He followed the new waves, since they led somewhere else.
These waves led to another fleshy room.
At this moment, the occupants of the other room were talking with the occupants of this room.
Based on how the Amorphous Race operated, Nick knew exactly who occupied both buildings.
After a bit, the occupants of the newest room contacted yet another room.
Nick followed the Pure Energy waves to a tiny room, barely two meters wide.
At that point, the Pure Energy waves stopped.
‘If my prediction is correct, the Illusionists contacted the Chief Illusionists. Then, the Chief Illusionists contacted the Strategists for orders. Lastly, the Strategists contacted the Representatives for confirmation.’
‘This small room should be where the Representatives are located.’
Luckily, this room was one with a tiny opening.
‘They are the ones who force this base to operate as frugally as possible. They don’t need a bigger or more secure room, which is why this room is so small.’
Nick passed through the tiny opening and looked around.
As expected, he saw the two representatives hovering in the middle of the room.
They were facing each other, quickly moving their legs.
Nick knew a bit about some languages of the Amorphous Race, but he didn’t know how this language worked.
None of the individuals Nick had read the mind of had been in contact with the Representatives.
However, with Nick’s incredibly fast mind, it didn’t take more than a minute to completely decipher the language.
‘They are comparing beliefs.’
‘They are constantly going through scenarios and checking if they are on the same page.’
‘I can make use of that.’
