Chapter 1557: Wang Guo’s Secret

"Damn this bastard. Is he really that petty?" Wang Guo cursed out loud, his voice so powerful that his beard danced from the shockwave. As usual, he wore his loose black robes that could barely hide his muscular frame, and the ancient, barbaric, and desolate aura surrounding him was even more intense than before.

’The character analysis said he did not like to suffer a loss and would usually find a way to pay back anyone who wronged him, so he might be just acting petty. But is it really so simple?’

Wang Guo was deep in thought. He sensed something and looked in the distance. ’Ultimately, the truth doesn’t matter as much as what people believe is the truth.’ Under normal circumstances, the Ye Clan and one of the two human clans would attend such a meeting to prevent leaving the Ye Clan alone and with complete access to their bases.

However, the Wang and Xiao Clan came for this meeting.

’It doesn’t matter what you do, I won’t hand over this secret,’ Wang Guo thought. He has been pursuing a Fiendgod Bloodline for many years, but he did not want to infuse it into his body directly. Otherwise, with his strength, Wang Guo could have even slaughtered an Ancestral Fiendgod, which was on par with Primals, and get their blood.

Wang Guo wanted his clan’s bloodline to be as powerful and noble as Fiendgods. In other words, without knowing it, he has been pursuing the path of a Human Fiendgod Bloodline. After many years of research and attempts, Wang Guo successfully created a flawed or deluded Fiendgod Bloodline.

Then, he met Wang Wei and was inspired. Wang Guo realized his approach was wrong. He’s been absorbing Fiendgod Bloodlines and has his bloodline assimilate it. However, he failed to know they were fundamentally different things. After meeting Wang Wei, Wang Guo realized he should have focused on breaking the limits of his bloodline to reach a higher level; then, he could model his blood to be similar yet different from that of the Fiendgods.

After his return, Wang Guo focused on this aspect and he finally achieved his dream to make the clan’s bloodline as noble as the creature considered the epitome of the flesh.

However, another issue arose — the bloodline was not easy to spread. In fact, this problem existed even before Wang Wei’s idea. The union’s Wang Clan is divided into two branches: the main branch who has inherited Wang Guo’s Diluted Fiendgod Bloodlien and the side branch who still has traces of his Innate God bloodline.

After his upgrade, Wang Guo’s main concern became the small percentage of people who inherited his true bloodline. The number was already small when it was diluted, meaning it was a hundred times worse for the true bloodline. And that’s not even mentioning the issue of children dying in the womb or being born with developmental disabilities.

Wang Guo walked before a window in his room and crossed his muscular arms while looking at the sun. People believe Qiyuan’s path was correct, but he knew this ideological fight was far from over. He knew a secret about the relationship between Fiendgods and Chaos Demon Gods.

That secret will be the key for his flesh and bloodline to reach transcendence. Even better, it may be the key to raise the Wang Clan to become a Transcendent Bloodline Clan. That secret is why he’s refusing to share the Human Fiendgod Bloodline with the Ye or other clans. It’s why he’s extremely wary of Qiyuan’s branch and the Dao Opening Sect.

’Xiao Yingjie, who can rise to our position, is not ambitious? You want to turn the union into vessels of your Xiao Clan. So, why can’t I want the same thing?’ A ruthless light flashed in Wang Guo’s eyes as he grinned.

His eyes were those of a hunter, but not one that went after normal prey like animals. No, he was a hunter who killed gods, demons, devils, or entities that mortals worship or fear on an instinctual level. Wang Guo looked in the direction of the commercial district.

’And you, Qiyuan — let’s see who can sanctify first.’

...

"The Butterfly Princess, huh?" Wang Wei muttered. She was an interesting character for a variety of reasons. Firstly, she held the title of the most beautiful woman before Xun Junyao appeared. However, she was not only known for her beauty.

The Butterfly Princess entered the Dao through art, having made achievements in many fields like music, calligraphy, painting, and poetry. Her works are extremely famous because they can help people break through bottlenecks.

Her last work, the [Grieving Path], was a painting of a woman walking through Primordial Chaos with a trail of dead worlds behind her. After she painted that masterpiece, she handed it over to the war effort, resulting in the birth of multiple new Peak Paragons, which immensely helped Qiyuan and the Eternal Ascension World to win the war.

’Is she going to create another masterpiece? It’s possible. Another disaster is coming. Maybe she wants to repeat her grand achievement from the second war,’ Wang Wei thought before an idea suddenly struck him. He reviewed everything he knew about the Butterfly Princess.

’No, she’s a true artist at heart, meaning she would not want a repeat of previous events. She would want to create something even better than her last work. And what would be better than her last performance? A piece of work that can create a Primal.’

This idea sounded stupid, but Wang Wei knew there was something to it.

’If destiny were an indication of which Overlord would have their next Primal, the Grand Sect Alliance was the obvious choice. They are the largest and have the most luck. However, their luck was already used for whatever Dugu Baitian discovered in the Ultimate Taboo that allowed him to block Hong’er’s memory wipe.

’That means the true answer is Qin. The luck of the Jade Butterfly is manifesting, and the first sign is to give Qin a new Primal.’

Wang Wei squinted his eyes.

’What realm is the Butterfly Princess?’ She must be at least a Peak Paragon to create a work capable of helping others become a Primal. She also needs some sort of assistance.

’Hmm? Why can’t I sense her? Has she not arrived yet?’ Wang Wei observed the fate lines in this Pure Art Blue Mansion, but he did not sense her. ’Maybe she’s waiting for all the Overlords to arrive to start her performance.’

Wang Wei immediately speechless. If that were the case, he came way too early. ’Let’s just reserve the room and come back during the performance.’

Wang Wei turned his focus to another VIP room not far from him. He smiled before extending his divine sense.

"Why are you here? Aren’t you a married man?"

Lin Fan was so shocked by the sudden voice that he almost spilled the wine cup in his hand. "Wang Wei?" he asked as he recognized that voice.

"It’s me, and answer my question."

"I should be asking you the same question," Lin Fan sneered.

"Are you me? I can do whatever I please, and no one can tell me otherwise."

"You might have fooled someone else with those words, but I know who your supposed wife is."

"Fair point," Wang Wei nodded. "Which is why I’ve asked and received permission. But what about you? Do you expect me to believe your wife knows and allows you to be here?"

"I came here with her," Lin Fan said.

"You did?" Wang Wei’s confusion was not because Xu Shi had enough trust in her husband to bring her to a brothel. It’s because he did not sense her presence when he looked at all the fate lines in this mansion. ’How does a brother have such a deep means of hiding information?’ Wang Wei wondered. Things were getting interesting.

"Shi’er has recently rediscovered her interest in music, and wanted a place to learn. As soon as we arrived in this place, she rushed here, and I was dragged."

"Does she want to learn from the Butterfly Princess?"

"Yes, but it doesn’t appear that it will happen," Lin Fan sighed. "Wait, do you have a way?"

"How in Heaven and Earth would I have a way for such a thing?"

"Who knows? You always have a connection in the strangest places," Lin Fan shrugged. "But now that I think about it, she’s from the old era, so the chances of you meeting or having any relationship with her are slim."

"Sometimes I can’t tell whether you’re smart or not."

"Rude bastard," Lin Fan cursed.

"Since I can’t cause trouble for you, I’ll do it for someone else. By the way, do you want to come drink together?"

"Hmm, why not?" Lin Fan stood up before teleported to Wang Wei’s room.

"What are you doing here?"

"Hmm? Wang Wei?" Xiao Tiandi said calmly.

"You haven’t answered my question."

"Why should I answer you?"

"So, I don’t tell your Yao’er that you fancy another woman."

"My Yao’er would...I mean, master would never believe you."

"You are so easy to read," Wang Wei teased.

"Shut up."
