Inheritor Of Magic: The Magi King

Chapter 1134 Training The Pentacles

Chapter 1134: 1134 Training The Pentacles

The thought that the Fae were taking over as his actual advisors gave Wolfe a great idea.

They had numerous world leaders here now, and the Pentacle Members had been approached with hundreds of new ideas that others wanted them to help with.

So, it would be the perfect time to set them up with actual roles.

If they had positions and titles, everyone would know whom to approach with their ideas. Of course, their personalities would also let everyone know who they should not approach, but that was a whole other topic.

“Why don’t we start picking some official roles for everyone? You’re all slated to become advisors, and I know that some of you have specialties that you would like to focus on.” Wolfe suggested, getting everyone on the same topic.

“Is there a head of snacks and tasty things?” Nimue asked.

The little Dryad was sitting in Carmine’s lap, and the Demon Princess patted her head.

“That would be the minister of agriculture, and they’re responsible for issues relating to all the types of food, not just the snacks. But we will be advising King Wolfe about laws and policies that affect everyone.”

Nimue frowned. Her dryad nature wanted to bask in the sunlight and absorb nutrients. Her Demonic side wanted to kill and fight, but the two natures blended into a playful love of jokes and snacks.

Even if she was fully grown, she wouldn’t be the best option for a Minister of anything.

Monika the dwarf ran a calloused hand through her ginger curls. “You know, I think I would make a good Advisor for Industry. It’s all about the forge, in a way.

Making new things, distributing new products, ensuring that there is enough raw material available for your apprentices. I know I’m young to be running a forge, much less the industry of a world, but I have good instincts for that sort of thing.”

Wolfe nodded. “That is what we need. People with insights on a topic. There are already enough regional governments and Guardians in charge that we don’t need an extra layer of bureaucracy, just a team to make sure they’re all working together and not screwing things up for everyone else.”

Khalifa frowned. “Perhaps I could take up a position on wildlife? I am a Huntress, so I am well suited to advocating for the sustainable management of the wild monster population.”

A few of the others gave her strange looks, and the Elf laughed. “No, simply killing them all isn’t a viable answer. There is a good reason for the monsters to continue to exist. They balance the ecosystems, and they are a valuable source of food for many regions.”

“Alright, that’s two.” Wolfe agreed.

“Can I be responsible for parties? I love to plan parties.” Annette, their resident Faerie, suggested.

“I don’t see why not. Cultural events are a big thing all over the world, so if you want to study them all and make suggestions on which we should visit, and how we could help people enjoy them more, it’s a valuable job.”

Drazzit smiled at the tiny flying creature, then drummed her fingers on the table.

“If the Wrath Demons don’t mind, I would like to advise on military strategy. We might not be at war with anyone right now, but it would be best not to get to a point where we were unable to win one if it was necessary.

Plus, in the Underdark, the military are first responders for all sorts of disasters, so getting rid of the world’s military force would leave a huge gap that would need to be filled.” She suggested.

The witches nodded in agreement. “Most of what the armies do in the Witch Covens is to prevent the Monster Tides from overrunning populated areas. That job will still need to be done, and on a larger scale, as the other continents also have monster issues, and they’re doing an even worse job of handling them.

If we can get the army reconfigured as more of a Royal Guard for emergency response, law enforcement and disaster relief, I think it would be for the best.”

The human members all signalled their agreement.

“The Royal Guard is the backbone of everything where we come from. They deal with everything from flooded roads and bandits to corrupt Nobles and attacks. But we should keep everything in layers.

If the Royal Guard does the day to day policing, they will eventually get biased and corrupt. But if they only come in to deal with larger issues, they get the outsider’s perspective on if the local law enforcement and leadership is the problem.”

Wolfe made a note of that. “Alright, so we need to pick Royal Guards to be sent to disasters all over the world. That’s more hiring from the soldiers and specialists of the world.

We should spread them between species as well, so that we’re not just sending witches and humans, which make up almost all of the soldiers right now.

Having a few Demons and Fae with them will not only give them better ability ranges, but different skills.

We can start recruiting for that once everyone is home and settled into their new roles. For right now, we can send groups of Guardians, the way we have been doing.

I think that highly skilled response teams of no more than ten would be the right way to go.

We can send them with portals, so they can respond as soon as there is a message, or move through a region without overwhelming the smaller villages. They will just need to have some power, at least Rank Three, to be able to do the job.”

Serra, one of the human Pentacle Members who was excelling in her studies as a Mage, frowned as she went through what they needed.

“I think that the last thing we are going to need will be spymasters. Someone needs to gather the sort of intelligence that the Guardians and local leaders aren’t going to willingly pass to us.”

Dana and Rail, the two Succubi, smirked at Carmine, who was happily eating cake as she appeared to ignore the conversation now that it didn’t directly involve her.

“I think that we might have a few specialists in that field already. We just need to build up a bit more of a network of informants.” Rail agreed.
