Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage

Chapter 572 - 572: 572: On the Back Foot… We’re Gonna Lose…

Nightshade looked visibly embarrassed and explained, “Sorry… I forgot to mention, he just hatched. Doesn’t understand what you’re saying yet.”

“You mean this guy’s a legit newborn?” Orson was stunned.

Nightshade nodded helplessly. He turned to Pajero and shouted a few guttural syllables in Goblin-speak.

Finally, the oversized goblin reacted—he dodged Aetrexa’s aerial dive attack… sort of.

This time, the five-star general clutched his head and ran off like a toddler caught doing something wrong.

Orson was speechless. It was clear now—Pajero was a blank slate. He only understood ancient goblin language and had zero combat intelligence.

Against a powerhouse like Aetrexa, even with far superior stats, he was bound to get wrecked unless he racked up some real experience.

“Orgod! Your death is at hand!” Aetrexa’s eyes were icy cold. She was hellbent on avenging her earlier humiliation by bombardment. She spun her dragon lance and lunged straight at Orson.

“You stubborn fool. You want death? I’ll give it to you!”

Orson’s face darkened. He had no more patience for Aetrexa. An uncontrollable NPC was a liability.

With Whisper of the Wind active, he unleashed a barrage of Chaos Magic Balls. But Aetrexa shattered them one by one with her relentless dragon lance.

Crimson Lizard King, in perfect sync with Orson, dove in from above. Her razor-sharp talons slashed the Holy Light Dragon King across the belly, tearing a deep, bone-revealing wound.

Crippling Hit – 3,000,000!

Bleed – 100,000!

The Holy Light Dragon King roared in agony and retaliated, biting deep into Crimson Lizard King’s wing. The two dragons clashed in midair, dragon blood splashing down like rain.

Atop their backs, Orson and Aetrexa were locked in a deadly close-range spell duel, their red and silver magic colliding in bursts of light.

Aetrexa quickly realized her ranged attacks were being nullified. Golden hair flowing, she vaulted off her saddle and dove straight at Orson.

“Doomsday Blade!”

Orson’s expression turned grim. He instantly switched to melee stance, igniting his weapon with searing flames and delivering a rapid combo.

Clang!

Clang!

Block Overload – 50,000!

Critical Hit – 300,000!

Sparks flew. But even with his power, Orson was clearly at a disadvantage in melee.

Aetrexa was one of the top ten dragon knights in Infinite Dimensions. Her combat instincts and close-quarters experience were on another level.

Of course, in terms of raw dragon power, Crimson Lizard King had the edge. But this wasn’t going to be settled quickly.

“Get lost!”

Orson roared. His killing intent exploded as he combined stances and slammed his palms together.

“Awaken—Grip of the Underworld!”

NPC Artifact Defense Reduction!

Critical Hit – 1,300,000!

Boom!

A massive elemental hand smacked Aetrexa into the ground like a cannonball. But Orson couldn’t celebrate yet.

Just as she hit, light wings flared from her back. With a battle cry dripping in bloodlust, she launched herself back up.

Orson frowned.

He had 40,000 spell power, 31x crit multiplier, and Grip of the Underworld’s 3x base damage. Even without kill effects, he should’ve been chunking her health. But her unique holy artifacts were reducing damage dramatically and concealing her full stats.

Roar!!

The Holy Light Dragon King snarled through the pain, twisted its neck, and glared at Orson.

Seven enormous elemental holy swords descended from the sky, aiming to slice Orson down with Aetrexa.

On the ground, four clan kings barred from flying by Orson’s Sky Sovereign title were lying in wait, ready to ambush him if he dropped.

“Awaken—Judgment Flame!”

Orson didn’t dare hold back. He stomped the chaos hexagram beneath his feet and triggered Dragon Curse magic.

A massive burst of light from Bright Galaxy shattered the incoming elemental blades.

“Nightshade, have the goblin general hold off the kings! I’m going to kill this dragon and rider!”

“Wagha… Wagha!” Pajero nodded, looking serious in his own dimwitted way.

He charged like a tank, ignoring incoming spells and swinging his Magitek Doom Blade to draw attention.

Bang!

Shield Bypass!

Lethal Strike – 11,000,000!

A merman king cried out in shock as his elemental shield disintegrated. His tail was nearly chopped clean off.

“Gagagaga…” Pajero cackled and lunged again.

But the kings weren’t stupid. They spread out and started playing hit-and-run, luring Pajero while sneaking in attacks from behind.

Within moments, the poor goblin was riddled with wounds, green blood gushing, and had lost over 100 million HP.

Orson grimaced. At this rate, Nightshade’s green bro was going to be chopped into scrap.

On the other side, Veijander was getting overwhelmed. The Snow Elf King’s frost magic was the perfect counter to melee fighters.

“Die, bastard!”

Veijander roared through bloodied lips. His thunder hammer smashed the Hill Dwarf King to the ground, but then he was hit by a volley of wooden spirit arrows and nearly turned into a pincushion.

Orson shook his head. These King-tier NPCs were too seasoned. And the enemy had way more high-end elites than they did.

“Brothers! It’s time!”

Nightshade shouted, sensing the momentum turning.

The gates of Forever City opened once more.

Ten goblin warlords leaped from the ramparts with giant rusted blades, followed by Titan Mechs and waves of magitek armor units.

Iron Cavalry quickly led them to the flank and opened fire to relieve Veijander.

“Imperial Iron Cavalry! Charge!”

Aetrexa lit up with glee. With the Rockforce King’s Forbidden Curse nearly complete, the Imperial army was poised to storm the city.

Two thousand level-80 holy knights, shielded by priests, broke through the moonstone barrage and charged straight at the defending Godslayer units.

“Damn it, Grey Dwarf King! I can’t help you now!” Iron Cavalry cursed as he ordered the allied forces to intercept the Imperial cavalry.

“I’m gonna strangle you!” Veijander roared, forced to keep taking the hits.

Steel collided with steel in a brutal melee, screams rising in waves.

The magitek command vehicle howled with fury, but was quickly boxed in by knight shield formations and pinned under the walls.

“Imperial mages! Wipe them out!” Aetrexa cried, dragon lance raised high.

The sky erupted in beams of elemental destruction, a burning swarm of magical energy crashing down on the Godslayer lines.

Within seconds, a dozen armored vehicles exploded, six Titan Mechs were reduced to scrap, and over 400 Godslayer players were killed.

Slaughter Spree: “Godslayer’s hogging the glory again? Screw it! Everyone, charge!”

Magical Fiancée: “Hold this city or die trying! I don’t care how many times you respawn!”

“Wipe them out!”

“Unless I DC, I’ll make them regret ever logging in!”

Major guilds joined the fight. With a national livestream ongoing, no one was willing to let Godslayer hog all the spotlight.

Over twenty guild-built magic warships rose into the sky, unleashing a relentless bombardment.

“You dare interfere in our battle with your fancy trinkets?”

Far away, the Rockforce King stood beneath a swirling sandstorm. His Forbidden Curse was nearly complete.

“Time to play my last card?”

Orson frowned, glancing at Jenonis who was hovering nearby.

Clearly, these elite NPCs were just pawns in the eyes of the Archangel. That feathered bastard wanted to see what trump card Orson had left.

Orson’s gaze flicked to the Forbidden Curse scroll in his inventory. The range wasn’t enough. He had to lure Jenonis closer.

“It’s over, Orgod,” Aetrexa sneered.

“Is it?” Orson smiled coldly.

He turned to Crimson Lizard King, still wrestling the Holy Light Dragon King in midair.

“Seriously? You can’t finish off one baby dragon? Just say the word if you can’t hack it.”

Crimson Lizard King snapped.

“I am the True Dragon! The heir of the Dragon Gods!”

Her scales bristled like an angry cat’s. With a deafening roar, she pinned the Holy Light Dragon King beneath her and dove toward the cliffside.

Even for dragon bodies, a fall from this height would be brutal.

But what Crimson Lizard King lacked in subtlety, she made up for in pure brute force.

Not even a quasi-God-tier Vilitian beast could withstand this kind of impact.

The two dragons plummeted like twin comets.

As they neared the cliff, Orson’s eyes narrowed.
